Freya, the eldest daughter of the Silver Dragon clan, lost her mother at an early age and grew up under the cold indifference of her stepmother Selen, her stepsister Laila, and her two elder brothers. At the dragon clan's mate-selection ceremony, her fiancé Adrian — who had long since secretly pledged himself to Laila — schemed with his sister to make her fire orb slip from her grasp, landing on Oberon, a banished slave.
