New footage has revealed the tense moments before goalkeeper Jesus Owono launched a 'reckless' tackle that led to the death of Tenerife footballer Jesus de Miguel.

FC Andorra goalkeeper Owono collided with opposing striker De Miguel in the latter stages of a hotly contested 2-2 draw in Spain's second division on Monday.

De Miguel immediately collapsed following the devastating blow in which Owono's knee appeared to strike the forward in the chest. He passed away in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

A homicide squad has launched an investigation as court officials explained that any death 'not resulting from natural causes' automatically triggers a judicial investigation, with police now also probing the medical response to the incident.

Now, new footage taken from the stands has revealed how a fired-up Owono behaved in the moments leading up to the devastating collision.

The video shows how Owono had made his way to the other end of the pitch to get involved in a confrontation following a red card for opposing goalkeeper Dani Martin, before appearing to motion for him to make his way off the field of play.
