Count the score cues. Almost all belong to the water — heats, paddling out, the long shots at dawn. Big, warm, unapologetic.

Now count the cues inside the house. There are barely any. What you hear is a kettle, a door, gulls, and the ocean doing continuous low work in the background.

That is not a budget decision. It is the thesis. The house is where nothing is scored, because nothing there is performed. The drama lives in rooms where nobody is watching, which is exactly why it has no soundtrack.

The one time music enters the house, it comes from outside — somebody's phone, somebody's car — and the scene turns immediately.
