00:00Aston Villa's 100% record in this season's Champions League could hardly face a sterner test than this one with
00:06Barcelona
00:07Beaten by the holders in Paris last time out eager to get back in the continental groove
00:12If he finds the net tonight with his 14th goal in the competition
00:15Anthony Gordon starts on the left and Rafinha plays through the middle
00:18Johan Manzambi adds real creative quality while in form Nicolas Jackson leads to the attack
00:23He scored eight goals this season, light blue
00:27Barcelona, their traditional colours
00:32It's the holders of the Europa League against the Spanish champions and five times Champions League winners
00:40Rafinha will like this scenario as he pokes it in
00:45And a touch or a deflection could easily have directed it into the back of the net there
00:52Rafinha's been in his usual outstanding form so far this season, 17 goals
00:59And they're not about to let a wet night dampen their spirits behind the goal
01:06That supporters section behind the goal reopened again for tonight, that group allowed back in, it's given away, it's a
01:15really bad ball
01:16And Laminya Mal puts Barcelona one up
01:23Disastrous play from Aston Villa there, gifting the opening goal of the match
01:27And it's a special one too, it means that Laminya Mal is now on his own, the record goal scorer
01:37In the Champions League among teenage players, it's his 14th goal
01:44And the 19-year-old was not about to pass up a gift such as that
02:02In it comes and Cash fires it in and it just flashes across the face of the goal
02:08Immediate response from the visiting side
02:14Reflected away by Pedri
02:23Played out by Suzuki, into trouble, he's forced to make a save
02:26And the two best opportunities for Barcelona have come from defensive errors from the visiting side
02:35Manson's now lost it but Aston Villa have a throw
02:38Villa at the back
02:39Not much room for manoeuvre as Suzuki played that ball out
02:43To Gomez
02:46Forwards making the run ahead of him
02:47Stretched by Buendia, Jackson's down, Manzambi's got it
02:51Villa looking for a chance
02:53It's Manzambi, denied by Garcia
02:55And safely into the keeper's gloves
03:02Sporadically Villa are having moments in this first half
03:10And there is the half-time whistle
03:13It is advantage Barcelona at half-time
03:17Thanks to an early goal scored by Laminya Mal
03:26Deco suitably attired against the elements
03:31It's that sort of night in Barcelona
03:38Davide Massa from Italy is our referee
03:41Bastian Dankert from Germany leads the team in the VAR room this evening
03:47And I'm sure half-time Villa's players when they got together
03:51Will have been very much reiterating
03:53That they feel there might be something in this game for them
04:04Definitely no room for error though, that's for sure
04:07But be careful on that left-hand side
04:09With both Buendia and Mattson already in the referee's book
04:12In the first half
04:14A lot of Barcelona's attacks
04:18Far more coming down the right-hand side than the left
04:21So far in the game
04:22And here they are again
04:23And Suzuki off his line
04:25And Mattson trying to play his way out
04:32Here comes Firmin Lopez
04:34Good ball Rafinha
04:362-0
04:39And the deflection there just carried it out of the reach
04:42At Zion Suzuki
04:44And that early second half pressure
04:47Has told Barcelona to Aston Villa-Nil
05:03And already on the 3rd of November
05:05Rafinha scoring the 18th goal of his season
05:23And Villa have got it all to do
05:25As if they didn't know
05:26Completely surrounded by three home defenders
05:28And away goes Lopez
05:32Rafinha waits in the middle
05:33Lamine Yamal up against Ian Mattson once more
05:38Oh it's brilliant
05:39Anthony Gordon will keep it in as well
05:45The shot from Schraub Cancelo
05:59Here's João Cancelo away from McGinn
06:02Faced by Cash
06:03Oh it's number three
06:04Brilliant goal
06:06Buried by Rafinha
06:09Razor sharp
06:13And Villa being completely undone in this second half
06:18And Barcelona's captain leading the charge
06:22Two goals inside 20 minutes since the break
06:26And it's going to be
06:2925 minutes to go
06:34Here's Cash
06:36Back into Lindelof
06:41Closing in on Suzuki
06:42Who's living very dangerously
06:44It's Firmin Lopez
06:45And Suzuki with the save
06:47And Villa
06:49Making some of their own problems here
06:53Well that pass was asking for trouble
06:56And very nearly led
06:58To a 4th goal
07:05In it comes from Lamine Yamal
07:07And Barcelona are out of European competition
07:12And the header
07:13Doesn't quite find the back of the net
07:19And it came off
07:21The German and hit
07:24Mattson
07:33There's Lamine Yamal
07:35Alarm bells have been ringing for Villa now
07:37It's beyond Suzuki
07:39And just beyond the far post as well
07:41Very real danger for the opposition
07:43Every time he's got the ball at his feet
07:46At Galatasaray
07:48Lost 4-2 in Paris
07:50And now three more so far here at home
07:53Still time for a 4th
07:55Lamine Yamal
07:56Fingertip save by Zion Suzuki
08:02Certainly looked that way
08:07Sure bringing the save from Villa's goalkeeper
08:11Sure he got his fingers to it
08:13Yeah
08:20Goodness me there's some talented players
08:22Sitting behind Hansi Flick there
08:23On that bench at the moment
08:26As we head towards the end of the game
08:27And some wonderful talent on it as well
08:29Lamine Yamal
08:30Looks for an opening
08:31And brings the save
08:33From Zion Suzuki
08:34His second goal of the night
08:37Another notable night
08:39For Lamine Yamal
08:40The 19 year old
08:41Who is now officially the highest scoring teenager
08:43In the competition
08:44Which set Barcelona
08:45On the road to victory this evening
08:47It was a gift early in the match
08:49It was all that separated the sides
08:51At half time
08:52Villa at that point
08:53Had had some positive moments
08:55Near Barcelona's goal
