14:27Tire, tout est fine.
14:29Et un peu, oh!
14:31To Shinsuke.
14:33Feeling those good vibrations in the corner.
14:36Well, if he does have a bad shoulder,
14:38I'd hate to see what his body looked like with a good shoulder.
14:41The guy is jacked.
14:42He looks tremendous.
14:43Always in top shape is Tanahashi.
14:48Oh, come on!
14:51And the Beaumille knee there from Tanahashi.
14:57Shinsuke Nakamura certainly avoided this company, but uh-oh.
15:01There's the shoulder.
15:12It's over the...
15:13A couple of minutes after Omega decided to send Cody Hall and Yujiro Takahashi to the back.
15:21It had been Tanahashi in control, but now Omega has turned it around.
15:27And Omega, despite being probably the most talked-about wrestler in the world,
15:32he's surprisingly old school in his sensibilities.
15:35Going after a body part on Tanahashi, which is what you need to do.
15:43Tanahashi...
15:44Some left-handed shots to the ribcage, and oh!
15:51Tanahashi...
15:52Will he try to skin the cat?
15:53Yes, he will.
15:54Shades of Ricky Steamboat.
15:55But instead, now finds himself almost stubborn there in Tanahashi.
16:02Brutal.
16:03Should have thought better about skinning the cat.
16:06As bad as his shoulder is.
16:09Vicious, vicious shoulder attack by Kenny Omega.
16:12We talked about focusing on the body part.
16:14Kenny Omega's uncle, one of my trainers, the Golden Sheep,
16:18was one of the most vicious and sadistic wrestlers I ever saw.
16:21Kenny comes by it naturally.
16:22Got that mean streak.
16:25Dusha Thunder Liger is out.
16:28The Chimpinogami, TVSI crew, Milano Collection 18,
16:33providing the Japanese language broadcast.
16:39And we know we are going to have a new champion crowd.
16:42Certainly a lot of changes within Bullet Club.
16:46AJ Styles thrown out of the group.
16:50Gallows and Anderson taking bows tonight here in Nagata.
16:54And now Omega.
16:55Oh, I like this.
16:58See, not many people will do that to Tanahashi.
17:00I told you he has no respect for the legend.
17:08For all of the rash claims that Omega has made,
17:13certainly he is looking to back them up.
17:15He has never been one to be intimidated by.
17:20Athletes, the stature of a Tanahashi.
17:23Certainly deferential, respectful.
17:25But he knows what he has to do to win.
17:28Seven.
17:29Eight.
17:31Nine.
17:32Go.
17:33Go.
17:34Go.
17:35Go.
17:35Go.
17:38Go.
17:38Yeah, you don't want Tanahashi landing on someone's lap
17:40and not doing any damage.
17:42You want him to hit those chairs full on.
17:47Well, this will completely change everything
17:49if Omega is successful.
17:54Oh!
17:56Stretching that right arm, cranking that shoulder.
17:59There we go.
18:01And this leaves it open for the suplex through the chairs.
18:05And that might be all for Tanahashi.
18:07It looks like he jammed that shoulder.
18:09You can see it.
18:11The hand stuck under one of the chairs there.
18:13Some of the luggage that's, for some reason,
18:15they let people bring into these buildings, Kevin.
18:25Can he have a little fun?
18:28Well, you can have fun as you are in control here,
18:32but can't get too far ahead of himself.
18:36Needs to get Tanahashi back in the ring.
18:39Oh, this shit.
18:44Wow.
18:46Now, that's the athleticism that we talked about.
18:49He executed that without a lot of peripheral vision
18:52with that mask on.
18:56Wearing some of the merchandise
19:01representing Los Singobernables de Japón and Bushi
19:04that the fans there in the ringside seats
19:08had purchased tonight.
19:11But that's the story.
19:12That's what we need to focus on right there.
19:16What better way for Kenny Omega
19:18to take New Japan to the next level
19:20than to bury the legend of Tanahashi.
19:23And it looks like he's well on his way.
19:27We'll claim the title here by count out, of course,
19:30if he is able.
19:30Very happy to do so.
19:32Seven, eight, nine, ten, eight.
19:39Tanahashi's fighting spirit.
19:41Well known.
19:42Oh, and...
19:45So close to 20.
19:47No way he's going to make it.
19:51One.
19:52Desperate gasp, and he rolls into the ring.
19:56He's going to pull the tape off.
19:57Un élè !
19:58Un és un élè !
20:00Quellez-vous !
20:01Ha, un élè !
20:10Tout ça, groupes-vous !
20:13Toute la'mpte.
20:14Elle va aller jusqu'au moins de perdre
20:15la pomme de Tanahashi en pour le roulовой
20:17tirage de la pomme à la poise à la fois
20:18à l'entrer.
20:19C'est parti !
20:50Oh, there you go. That's what you need to do. Use your body to create a leverage point.
21:00That shoulder is going to go, Don.
21:02That's putting a lot of pressure on the capsule and the shoulder.
21:05The AC joint, the labrum.
21:12And as you said, we don't actually know what the damage is before the match.
21:16Nope.
21:18Knew it was hurt.
21:19Took a few shows off.
21:22Rehabilitation, extensive exercise, physical therapy.
21:27But Tanahashi refuses to submit.
21:31You know, here's the thing I can tell you as a former wrestler, Kevin.
21:35There are certain injuries with a shoulder that no amount of rehab helps.
21:39You need to have surgery.
21:40And we don't know what he's got.
21:46And the problem with the shoulder surgery is you're off for four months.
21:50And Tanahashi's not a guy who wants to do that.
21:52Especially now, at this state of time, with New Japan Pro Wrestling having some opportunities
21:59when it comes to the top of the card.
22:02Leadership is needed.
22:03And Tanahashi feels that pressure.
22:09Uppercuts to the midsection, creating a little bit of space.
22:14And Red Shoes allowing those closed fists to the midsection.
22:20Well, sometimes when you're an athlete like Tanahashi, you get the calls.
22:25Omega's got to be aware of that.
22:29Sleeper hold.
22:35Now, if he could hook this into a full-on, locked-in, cross-faced chicken wing,
22:39you'd really have something here with that shoulder.
22:44And that is what he is looking to do here.
22:47He can break down the vertical base, get Tanahashi off his feet.
22:53And, whoa, Tanahashi very risky right there, Don.
22:58Yeah, because if you don't break the hold, now you're on your back.
23:01You've got real problems.
23:04But the hold has been broken.
23:06If I was Kenny, I might go for a double-armed chicken wing,
23:10a la Ricky Steamboat, 1989.
23:16Omega comes up empty with the charge in the corner.
23:19On instinct, Tanahashi raising that right elbow.
23:24Now, Senacross.
23:26Big four-arm.
23:28Here's the one thing I'll say about Omega.
23:30He is the most explosive guy rope-to-rope in this company.
23:33But when you miss something, it takes a bigger toll on you when you're that explosive.
23:38And Tanahashi having to will himself now towards the finish line.
23:48Tanahashi was not naive.
23:49He knew that Omega was going to do his worst here.
23:53Said so in the run-up to this match.
23:56Well, you don't think Tanahashi would go after a body part if someone was hurt?
23:59It is a results-driven industry, no doubt about it.
24:02Uh-oh.
24:06From the top.
24:07Let's go for that shoulder breaker again.
24:09Great counter.
24:22That might just be the spark needed.
24:27And Omega has had new problems in the past.
24:32Nothing major, but you go after a weakness.
24:37Texas Cloverleaf.
24:39Thought about from Tanahashi.
24:41Omega.
24:42Knew it.
24:43Quickly retreated to the ropes.
24:50So I guess as he goes after the knee, you would say Tanahashi's doing his worst.
24:55No, no, no.
24:56It is, again, like a, wait a minute.
24:58Oh, dragon suplex attempt.
25:01Great block.
25:02Oh, job.
25:04This is not ballet.
25:05We know that.
25:07They need to, here we go, look at this.
25:10Elevation.
25:10Look at the athleticism.
25:11Yeah, on a sore knee.
25:16Better lock that.
25:17He needs to get hand control.
25:19This is a better hold if you've got the meat of the hand, not the wrist.
25:27Going for it now.
25:34This might be more about punishing and less about getting a submission.
25:37Well, Foujois Armbar certainly would, uh, I don't think anybody would fault Tanahashi
25:43if at this point he did submit.
25:49Live to fight another day.
25:53But that is not the way the ace is built.
25:57Well, Tanahashi is a veteran.
25:59He always knows where he is in the ring.
26:02Able to use every inch of that 20 by 20.
26:15That will dislocate his shoulder real quick.
26:18Wow.
26:19He's attacking that shoulder capsule from the underneath.
26:23The top side.
26:25Seen this before.
26:27He will spring to the top.
26:29Tweak that knee a little bit.
26:30Hey, he sure did.
26:31There will be no spring to the top, but he will instead go from the second off of one leg.
26:38Moonsault, two, and Tanahashi kicks out.
26:41And that's the athleticism.
26:43Able to execute the move on one leg.
26:47Tanahashi! Tanahashi! Tanahashi! Tanahashi! Tanahashi! Tanahashi!
26:52A lot of great talents come out of Winnipeg.
26:54Roddy Piper, Don Callis, Chris Jericho, and now Kenny Omega.
27:01I said when Omega was a junior heavyweight, pound for pound, strongest junior I'd ever seen,
27:09but the strength is there, but that right knee is not willing.
27:14Yeah, if you don't have a base, it doesn't matter how strong you are up top.
27:18And I don't think this is a structural issue here.
27:21I just think he's had that ligament stretched a little bit.
27:24I'd say maybe a mild grade one sprain, but as that starts to swell up, it's going to affect his
27:30mobility.
27:35Gloverleaf thought about it the second time.
27:37Nope.
27:43Big backdrop over the top.
27:44All the way to the floor.
27:46All the way to the floor for Kenny Omega.
27:55And as proud as we mentioned, wait a minute, here he goes.
27:59High risk.
28:00High risk offense here.
28:02High risk offense here.
28:06High risk offense here.
28:12The shoulder be damned.
28:15Ta-Nehisi with high fly flow.
28:18Look at his hand and wrist.
28:19It looks like it's swelling up.
28:21Favoring that wrist.
28:22He might have jammed it on the landing.
28:30et si tu es Ta-Nehisi maintenant
28:31le question que tu dois être asking
28:33à vous dire
28:34comment je vais beat Kenny Omega
28:36si je n'ai pas le use de l'arm
28:39et Omega
28:40avec le use de l'arm
28:43peut lui demander
28:44la même question
28:45de la perennial ace
28:51frantically trying
28:52to break this grip
28:54Ta-Nehisi continues to hang on
28:56oh man
28:59here's the problem with that
29:00on a normal drag and screw
29:02your momentum will take some of the force
29:04out of that
29:06Ta-Nehisi kept going, Kenny didn't
29:08because of the ropes, that increases the torque
29:10on that knee joint
29:12across that steel cable
29:13with several thousand
29:16pounds of pressure on it
29:23went for the enziguri
29:25and was dragon screwed out of midair
29:29I never liked steel cable
29:31for that very reason
29:32it can be used against you
29:34in a way that ropes cannot
29:35and the Cloverly
29:37is
29:39is he able to do it
29:40now this is a difficult hole to execute
29:43when you've got a bad shoulder
29:44I can tell you that from experience
29:45got a high angle on the
29:48nope
29:48Kenny got up
29:49roll through
29:54perhaps
29:54Ta-Nehisi
29:55just not enough
29:56strength
29:58in that
29:59right arm
30:00oh
30:02uh oh
30:05and now
30:07has the hold seen it
30:09and Omega is in deep trouble
30:13oh come on
30:16Cody Hall recognizes that the cleaner's in trouble
30:20well Omega told him not to be out there
30:23so you can't blame Kenny Omega
30:24oh wait a minute
30:25wait a minute
30:26the Young Bucks
30:27they just
30:28they just came out
30:30from underneath the ring
30:31they just came out from underneath the ring
30:32super down
30:33wow
30:34what the hell
30:37how long have the Young Bucks been under that ring
30:40maybe since this morning
30:44this with the referee focused on Pony Hall
30:48are you kidding me
30:50Indy Taker
31:04well it's February but Christmas has just arrived for Kenny Omega
31:09he's gonna be the Intercontinental Champion because of the Young Bucks
31:13your inference is that Kenny had something to do with that
31:16are you
31:16of course he had something to do with it
31:19oh
31:27whoa
31:28oh wow
31:29the man he put out of fully club
31:32Styles Clash
31:34and he is the new champion
31:36no
31:36he's not
31:38barely got that bad shoulder up Kevin
31:55and now with the Bucks out here the cold spray
32:01yeah
32:04what is wrong with Red Shoes
32:07shouldn't be assaulting the talent
32:08cause he knows that the Young Bucks shouldn't be out here
32:11but with that neat
32:13compromise
32:14he will go for V Trigger nevertheless
32:16and oh wait a minute
32:17out of the way
32:18Dragon Suplex
32:20right on his head
32:23Fujinami Devotei
32:24Tanahashi
32:25with the Dragon Suplex
32:29Tanahashi delivers the best Dragon Suplex I've ever seen in this industry
32:34High Bridge
32:35allows you to drop your opponent higher onto his neck and head
32:40and that's what's at stake in the Intercontinental Championship
32:46neither man walks in as the current champion
32:49the title currently vacant
32:51following the departure of Shinsuke Nakamura
33:00Omega back on his feet though
33:03Omega back on his feet though
33:07Back to the right arm
33:11Big uppercut
33:14is to be in
33:16Big uppercut
33:20River Swanna
33:20Good Lord
33:26Kenny Omega can hit these explosive athletic moves
33:29literally out of nowhere
33:30it's one of the things that makes it dangerous
33:32What's a one winged angel
33:33can he get him up?
33:34One winged angel
33:35Oh!
33:36And River Swanna
