00:02Quite simply, the greatest of all time, John Cena.
00:20A superstar like John Cena, obviously his reputation precedes him.
00:25There's a reason he's called Big Match John.
00:28Yeah, there is no such thing as a small match when Cena's involved.
00:32The lights are even brighter, the WWE Universe is even louder, and the intensity is off the charts.
00:39It's all a spectacle, courtesy of one man, and his name is John Cena.
00:45Cena clearly focused and ready for this big match to really get underway.
00:49But he'll be in for a long night at the office facing Shelton Benjamin.
00:53Over the years, we've seen Shelton beat the unbeatable.
00:56Shelton's outfits may have changed.
00:58The hair might be gone, but the skills, just as sharp as they've ever been.
01:02Yeah, Shelton may not be as fast as he used to be, but he can still grapple with the best
01:06of them.
01:06That's why they call him the gold standard.
01:10John Cena is known for his big heart outside of the ring.
01:13Is that something that translates inside the ring as well?
01:24Absolutely, Cole.
01:25Putting his heart into everything he does is what made John Cena so successful in and out of the ring.
01:30I don't think tonight will be any different.
01:32He punts right to the face.
01:35What a series of body shots from Cena.
01:38He's getting pushed out into the defensive.
01:40That's the kind of offense that got John Cena to where he is today.
01:46Drops the hammer right on the lower back.
01:51Elbow drop is here, Cena.
01:53And Shelton only finds himself on the defensive.
01:56You can already see the heart Cena brought to this fight, and it's bringing him a ton of success.
02:01Hands an elbow.
02:04And look at this now.
02:06Yes, applying the submission hold.
02:09And he makes it to the refs.
02:11I knew it, Tim.
02:13Shelton Benjamin has earned every ounce of confidence pouring out of him right now.
02:20Higher to go.
02:21Down to DDT.
02:23By Pullman to end it here.
02:33This is it.
02:35And he only stays down for a one count.
02:38Surprised to not even get a two count at this point.
02:44Elbow drop.
02:45Here's Cena.
02:47And Cena finds himself on the receiving end.
02:51Both competitors showing how well they know him.
02:54And that was an effective attack, guys.
02:59Devastating elbow.
03:01Watch the precision with this strike.
03:04Big match, John.
03:05Can Shelton withstand this attack?
03:07Any more hits in that area could leave him busy.
03:10Oh, the elbow connects.
03:12And more attacks than his core could hinder his offense.
03:17Benjamin answers back.
03:18Now Shelton looking for some momentum.
03:21The time is now for Shelton to shift the tide.
03:25World Super Throws perched up high.
03:28Not for the third.
03:29Carolina from the top.
03:31That was awesome, Cole.
03:33He's stalking his opponent from the top turnbuckle.
03:37High risk.
03:39Feed the elbow drop.
03:41Now he's been put on the defensive.
03:42Cover.
03:44Ow.
03:44Ow.
03:49In the corner he goes.
03:51A perfectly placed target.
03:56Carefully placed stomp to the arm.
03:59Looking for a high risk, high reward situation.
04:03Oh, my God.
04:05Diving move zone.
04:08Is it enough?
04:10The cover.
04:11Kicks out after one.
04:12I can't believe it.
04:13He just won't go away.
04:18Shelton hits Payder.
04:20See this in trouble.
04:21See this in trouble.
04:23One, two, three, four.
04:24And that'll finally do it.
04:26What a victory.
04:30Here is your winner.
04:33Shelton Benjamin.
04:39And we're underway with a gold standard.
04:41Shelton Benjamin.
04:42And if ever a nickname was earned in shots.
04:44He's about as multifaceted as a superstar as you're ever going to meet.
04:47Grappling.
04:48Shoulders down for the count.
04:50Too soon for a cover.
04:52Shelton Benjamin.
04:52Shelton Benjamin.
04:53Shelton Benjamin.
04:53Oh, gut putt.
04:55Shelton Benjamin.
04:57Shelton Benjamin.
04:57Oh, Bearhawk squeezing the breath out of it.
05:00On a bearhawk.
05:02And a way to get out of it is being on display right here.
05:07Come on with that forearm.
05:11Cena drop kick.
05:13Cena has the moniker Big Match John for good reason.
05:17I think Cena is going to pull out all the stops to win this match.
05:20That Big Match mentality also means higher risk and a higher chance of crashing and burning.
05:25A smart man looks at that and sees that the key to this matchup is to play it safe and
05:29wait for Cena to make some mistakes.
05:36There's not much room out there.
05:38D, D, T face first.
05:41That was worse than being hit by a cinder block.
05:58The bell rings and John Cena's looking like he's got that big fight feel coursing through his veins right now.
06:04I think John Cena approaches every match with that same big fight mentality, Michael.
06:09There are a few superstars who have pushed themselves to the limits that John Cena does every match.
06:16I agree, Byron.
06:17I don't think Cena will be pulling any punches here tonight.
06:19But he'll be in for a long night at the office facing Shelton Benjamin.
06:23Over the years, we've seen Shelton beat the unbeatable.
06:26Shelton's outfits may have changed.
06:28The hair might be gone, but the skills, just as sharp as they've ever been.
06:31Yeah, Shelton may not be as fast as he used to be, but he can still grapple with the best
06:36of them.
06:36That's why they call him the gold standard.
06:39When it comes to Cena, we've seen that all the preparation in the world can often end up meaning nothing
06:44once you're standing across the ring from him.
06:46Corey, what do you think is the actual strategy for standing toe-to-toe with Cena?
06:51Well, Cena can sometimes underestimate his opponents.
06:54Sure, it makes sense when you've been on top as long as he has, but that's the exact thing that
06:58can end up leading to his downfall.
07:00So the best course of action is to let him underestimate you.
07:03Don't go full tilt just yet.
07:05Bide your time, and Cena will leave an opening.
07:15Evading offense.
07:20Oh, what a punch.
07:22That's how you stop your opponent.
07:23Boom!
07:25I don't like the look in his eye here, folks.
07:29Blast off!
07:31Oh, look out!
07:32And that was a collision you don't want to be on the receiving end of!
07:35Came down like a wrecking ball on a cinder block.
07:38And now gets tossed into the ring.
07:42Sheldon is all poison confidence, but you've got to wonder if he should press the advantage instead.
07:48One, two, three.
07:49One, crossbody!
07:56Oh, man!
08:05Big knee to the midsection.
08:08Big knee to the midsection.
08:11Yeah!
08:12Look out!
08:13Exploder suplexed.
08:15He can do it here.
08:17One, two, three.
08:19He powers out at the last moment.
08:21Oh, goodness.
08:22Doesn't get much closer to three than that.
08:32Shot and hit Pagner.
08:34That could end Cena right now.
08:37How at this point, you don't even stay down long enough for a one count, is beyond comprehension.
08:42Though you've got to believe he'll be looking for the kill shot one more time.
08:47Shot and Benjamin continues to mount offense.
08:49And credit where credit's due.
08:50He bided his time and waited for...
08:52From the top!
08:54Oh, elbow drop!
08:55Oh, it's a piercing elbow.
08:57Oh, using the knee as a weapon.
09:03Look at Sheldon up top.
09:06Taking flight!
09:07Oh, from the top!
09:10Sheldon is all poison confidence, but you've got to wonder if he should press the advantage instead.
09:15That little skull punch has to...
09:18Ooh!
09:19Well-placed kick.
09:20And what a maneuver we just saw there.
09:22Using the elbow as a weapon.
09:24Ooh, ouch!
09:26And Sheldon expected that.
09:29Clothesline!
09:30Uh-huh.
09:31And out by Sheldon!
09:33Sheldon has him staring at the lights.
09:35Looking for the victory!
09:37Two!
09:37And a kick out!
09:39No one saw that coming!
09:41Cena knows the situation.
09:42He knows what this win will mean for his opponent.
09:45But he's refusing to give it to him.
09:48And it may just take going to the well one more time with that maneuver to gain the pinfall.
09:53Now is the time to find that second win.
09:55Find that rush of adrenaline to push you forward.
09:58Taking this one back to the ring now.
10:04Spy buster!
10:0599.
10:06Hits to the core like that will render you useless.
10:09He catches Sheldon with a counter.
10:19Sheldon Benjamin has earned every ounce of confidence pouring out of him right now.
10:24Two!
10:25One!
10:26Two!
10:28Three!
10:31Yeah!
10:32Big back body drop!
10:34He's looking a little weary now.
10:36Yeah, and there is no end to what Morcina's capable of.
10:40Stomping out!
10:42Stomping out!
10:43Elbow strike!
10:46Oh!
10:47Sheldon's getting worked on right now.
10:49Yeah, Benjamin having trouble fighting back.
10:53Whoa!
10:54Oh, man!
10:55Inside out!
10:58Uh, stomp right to the gut!
11:01Oh!
11:03Elbow drop!
11:04He's piercing!
11:07Oh, look it!
11:08What a blow!
11:09Carefully measure right!
11:15The elbow nailed it!
11:18Hand and elbow!
11:22Hits him with the counter!
11:24The time is now for Sheldon to shift the tines!
11:27Reversal after reversal!
11:28Proving they did their home line!
11:30Cena being the aggressor!
11:31Cena giving no corner!
11:33And attacking above the shoulders has become the strategy here!
11:44And we see him take yet another shot to the goal!
11:47Oh, no!
11:48Now possibly Cena for a submission maneuver!
11:51Oh, the ankle locks in!
11:53The ankle locks in!
11:54And is he gonna come?
11:55Cena!
11:56Cena's in trouble!
11:57Is Cena gonna submit?
11:59Taps out!
12:03And Sheldon Benjamin got him and picks up the win!
