power read on The Sea God's Disguise: Fishing for Love — the household is worse off than it admits.
They have a name, a reputation, a seat at the right table. What they don't have is income, and the show is quietly honest: the repairs are old, the coats are mended, nothing is new.
Then a fisherman marries in and suddenly the roof holds.
That's the arrangement. They keep the title, he keeps them solvent, and nobody says it out loud because it would make the hierarchy look stupid.
When he leaves, the hierarchy survives and the house doesn't. That's the trade they made without noticing they'd made it.
✨ What worked:
- No scene discusses money. You count the mended things.
- Their status is other people's opinions.
✨ Bottom line: a title is not an asset. It's a habit.
Who was actually keeping that family afloat?
