इतिहास के अधिकांश समय में जूता बनाना एक हस्तकला रही हैं। जो हाथ से समय लेने वाली विनिर्माण प्रक्रिया तक सीमित हैं। इस कला के बारे में CCA की टीम ने उत्तर प्रदेश में ज़िला शामली के गाँव गढ़ी दौलत में चमड़ा का जूता बनाने वाले कारीगरों से बात की। चमड़े का जूता बनाने वालें कारीगरों का कहना हैं अब ये पहचान धीरें-धीरें गुम हों रहीं हैं।

For most of history, shoemaking has been a craft limited to a time-consuming handmade manufacturing process. The CCA team spoke with leather shoemakers in the village of Garhi Daulat in Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh, about this art. The leather shoemakers mentioned that this identity is gradually fading away.
