Ascension is a quiet, deliberate climb. 🥀🕯️
For as long as I can remember, I’ve looked up at this Victorian house on the hill with a sense of wonder. Yesterday, on October 29th, I finally walked up those stone steps—not just as a visit, but as a total rite of passage. Becoming the Witch of Eugene / Antifa Scarlet Witch this week meant stepping fully into my power, and taking those steps was pure medicine for my gothic soul.
I spent the evening wrapped in full Stevie Nicks-meets-vampire attire, sitting in the parlor of this supposedly haunted mansion for Lace & Literature’s Sapphic Book Club. We dove into a rich discussion of Johanna van Veen’s My Blood on Her Tongue—discussing a gothic sapphic romance surrounded by shadows, history, and ancient energy.
It was utterly delightful and precisely the dark nourishment I needed ahead of All Hallow’s Eve. 🌙✨
