02:08It really looked like her
02:09Last question, what hand are you guys giving out for Halloween?
02:13Ooh, go ahead
02:14I'm giving out what I like to have in case not many trick-or-treaters come so that Mama can
02:19eat it
02:20Which is a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, my favorite
02:22That's amazing, and this is a big year for me for the very first time
02:25My kids are going to parties because they're in high school and not door-to-door
02:28So what am I going to do?
02:29You're having your girlfriends over and you're putting this outfit on
02:32Are you going to?
02:33You know what, now that she said it, maybe I can take this home
02:35Yeah
02:36She's going to wear it, trick-or-treating, door-to-door

03:29I'm getting you

03:33That's right
03:34About time everybody
03:35Recognize my great face
03:37I'm Dumpy Dabbit
03:41Any questions so far?
03:43Ohh, ohh
03:44When we get to see the Today show
03:45That's my favorite
03:46We too
03:47That was our next stop
04:19You've got to call me Scoop.
04:21No, it's great.
04:23You're right.
04:23Yeah, it's great.
04:24You're right.
04:25Oh!
04:27Hey, I know you guys.
04:30What's your name?
04:31I'm Rachel from H.M.
04:32Hi, Rachel.
04:34Okay, I want to know what kind of candy do you give out on Halloween?
04:39I give out full-size candy bars.
04:40Now, when they say, when it says fun-size, that's no fun when you've got to open up three or
04:45four candies to get one candy.
04:46That's ridiculous.
04:48What inspired your look today?
04:50What look?
04:52Oh, this is your look every day?
04:54This is...
04:55I'm Gumby, damn it!
04:57Hero, but if you want to sing a song...
05:00That's okay.
05:00It's out of tune.
05:03When you decided you were going to do this amazing costume...
05:07Well, I knew what everybody else was doing, and I thought we were missing a little, like, current pop start
05:14flavor, some music.
05:15And Ella Langley, you are amazing.
05:17You've had an incredible year.
05:19I'm sorry I look like this.
05:21You're so beautiful.
05:22We did our best, but I wanted to honor Ella and the biggest song on planet Earth.
05:26And so, we had a lot of fun doing it.
05:28What's your favorite Ella song?
05:32If it weren't for the wind is my favorite song off her last album.
05:37And then, what kind of candy do you give out of Hollywood?
05:41I can't buy enough candy in my neighborhood.
05:44Like, we have monsters.
05:47So, I buy so much.
05:49My favorite are the 100 grand bars, the minis.
05:51We don't do full size.
05:52So, that's...
05:53I try and...
05:54I try and hook kids up with my favorite.
05:56And then, can I get you singing a few lines of an Ella song?
06:00Drinking Jack all by myself.
06:04I'm choosing Texas.
06:06I'm choosing Texas.
06:33We rehearsed at 5 a.m. and we got in a costume at 5.45.
06:36But, because of my magic trick this year, I got to do a whole trial run on Tuesday.
06:41So, we had already put the costume on, fixed what needed to be fixed, and we were ready
06:46to go this morning.
06:48And then, I want to know, what kind of candy are you giving out for home?
06:51I have been buying candy for the last several months.
06:54I usually give out my favorites so that if there's any left over, I get to eat them.
06:58So, Twix, Almond Joy, Kit Kats.
07:01I like the chocolate candy, not the gummy candy.
07:04Are they full size candy bars?
07:06I'm not Al Roker.
07:07I'm not doing full size candy bars.
07:09That guy's a madman.
07:36I can't be Snoop without Martha, and we thought it was going to be a long shot,
07:41but we pitched the idea to Martha, and she was like, yeah, it'll be fun.
07:45You just called her up?
07:46You just called her up?
07:47We did.
07:49Martha's been a friend of the show for a couple decades, so it was an easy call to make.
07:53But I knew that our team had crushed it this morning when Martha saw me in my full get-up,
07:58and she looked me up and down, and she was like, well, good.
08:01For Martha, that's, you know, that's how I praise.
08:05When did you think of doing this out?
08:07About a month ago.
08:09They settled on the theme, and then we had to figure out who I could be inside the theme.
08:15But really quick, just what candy are you giving out for home?
08:18Oh, we usually get about M&M's.
08:21No peanuts, though.
08:24Thank you, thank you, everybody.
08:26We have a great, a great show tonight, and I have right here a hermetically sealed envelope,
08:33and by my mystical powers, I shall reveal the answers.
08:37What inspired this movie?
08:39So this is classic Johnny Carson.
08:41If you're going to do 100 Years of NBC, you have to do The King of Late Night, Johnny Carson.
08:46And this is his most famous character, Karnak, who was kind of a mind reader.
08:50Read through an envelope and then tell a joke.
08:52So when they came to me with Johnny Carson, I was like, that's it.
08:56And I got to kind of live out childhood fantasies and be a late night host for like 30 seconds.
09:02Do you have any influence on the costume?
09:05Yeah.
09:06No, they have like a concept, and they have a bunch of ideas,
09:10and they'll come to you, our amazing producers, with the idea.
09:12And you can say yes or no, or you can say, yes, but let's do it in this character.
09:17Yes, let's do it this way, or let's do something else all together.
09:20But the truth is, they're so good at this, our Halloween team,
09:24that at this point you kind of go with what they have because they know how to do it so
09:27well.
09:28When do they present with the idea?
09:29Like, how far are you going to do it?
09:30I would say two months ago.
09:32Like, and they've been thinking about it for months before that.
09:35So by the time they have the concept, they've already really vetted a bunch of different ideas
09:39and thought what would look cool, how could we present it in a good way,
09:44and like could SNL and the wardrobe, hair, makeup teams, could they work with this concept?
09:50So, it's awesome.
09:52And then what kind of idea are you getting out from home?
09:55Okay, so we're doing Kit Kats and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
09:59But really, Reese's has really expanded, and this isn't a commercial,
10:03but the shapes that they're putting out these days, whether it's a pumpkin or an Easter bunny,
10:09they really tailor it to the holiday.
10:10So it's not even just a cup anymore, it's just a beautiful Reese's product.
10:14And I would like an endorsement deal.
10:16Are they full size?
10:18You've got to go full size.
10:19You disappoint kids.
10:21They come by your house.
10:23Sometimes they go, oh, their mom says, you know, they're on the Today Show.
10:26So if you hand out, like, you know, breath mints or toothpicks or toothbrushes,
10:32you get a bad reputation in town.
10:40This is going to be super simple.
10:45Okay.
10:46I want to know what kind of candy you're giving out from home.
10:48I love to give out full size candy.
10:52So we're doing full size Kit Kat, full size nerd boxes.
10:57We are all about everybody gets, like, a big chunk, too.
11:02Not just like one.
11:03You get a big fistful.
11:05Are you judging houses that don't get full size?
11:08I'm a big time judger.
11:09I'm a big time judgment.
11:13Everyone to your left.
11:16All the way to your left.
11:18Left.
11:19And then you're like, what has happened to Kat?
11:22Kat.
11:23Kat.
11:25Kat.
11:25Kat.
11:26Kat.
11:27Kat.
11:27Kat.
11:27Kat.
11:27Kat.
11:28Kat.
11:28Kat.
11:30Kat.
11:31Kat.
11:36Kat.
11:37Kat.
11:40Kat.
11:45Kat.
11:45Kat.
11:47Kat.
11:48Kat.
11:48Kat.
11:50Kat.
11:51Kat.
11:53Kat.
