While many spiders are solitary, certain species will gladly colony up where the hunting is effortless.
The clip, captured by Cristina in Xilitla, showcases dozens of Nephila, commonly known as golden silk spiders, coexisting together on a single light pole.
Despite their large size and dramatic golden webs, these spiders are completely harmless to humans.
They gather around the light pole because artificial light constantly attracts flying insects at night, turning the shared web structure into an all-you-can-eat hunting spot. WooGlobe Ref : WGA755991 For licensing and to use this video, please email licensing@wooglobe.com
