00:11We had a reader request come in on how to wear clumpy mascara,
00:15and today I'm going to be James' guinea pig and test it out.
00:19This is a reader request, and so I'm always a little hesitant to show a clumpy lash,
00:23because as a makeup artist it's my inclination to avoid clumpy lashes.
00:27But when it's done right, it can be beautiful.
00:30Okay.
00:30But I want to show you something that's a little more fashion,
00:33a little more Farrah Fawcett, and not so Tammy Faye Baker.
00:36Yeah. Good?
00:37Good.
00:37Alright, let's go.
00:38I like to use pawpaw ointment because it gives me a slickness that allows the mascara to grab.
00:44I'm using a disposable mascara wand, and I'm just bringing that right onto the lashes,
00:49and what that's going to do is give me some bulk.
00:52It's going to thicken the lash, and it's going to give the mascara something to stick to.
00:57For this look, I'm using blue mascara.
00:59It's a really bright blue.
01:01I'm just kind of bringing it through.
01:03You're looking up, and you're coating the bottom of the lash.
01:06You're looking down, and you're coating the top of the lash,
01:09and hopefully you can see how that mascara just starts to collect where the pawpaw ointment is.
01:16To finish that, I'm taking a small fan brush, and I'm going back in with my mascara,
01:22and bringing it from root to tip, right on top of what I've already painted with my wand.
01:28And I'm using the brush to gather the lashes together.
01:32And there you go.
01:33So I'm going to do the other eye, and then I'm going to let you take a look.
01:36Okay.
01:40All right, so take a look, and tell me what you think.
01:45Oh, whoa.
01:45I love this.
01:47I really like the blue, too.
01:49To finish this off, though, what I'm going to do is I'm using black mascara.
01:52Okay.
01:53So I'm going to bring this right onto the bottom, and I'm using a small brush mascara.
01:57And the trick is that you can use the tip of the brush and just bring it through.
02:03So this is my 70s kind of Hollywood sexy Charlie's Angels look.
