We took the YSL Tie & Dye Topcoat for a test run!
Transcript
00:04Hey guys, it's Megan here, senior beauty editor at Refinery29, and I'm in the beauty test lab
00:09trying out Yves Saint Laurent's Le Lac Couture Tie and Dye Top Coat. It's a tri-face top coat
00:14that features a clear shiny gloss, a sheer solid, and a super fine sparkle. What you do is you dip
00:20your brush in there, and then you put it over top of your base coat, and what that gives you
00:26is a
00:26radiation effect, almost like a tie-dye. You can also shake it up and use it as a sheer, shimmery
00:33top coat.
00:34So we're gonna go ahead and give this a try both ways and see how it works. So I've gone
00:37ahead and
00:38painted my nails with two coats of YSL's Coral Devine, and now I'm gonna go ahead and put the top
00:43coat on.
00:48I really think that I would need a lot more practice with this before I was comfortable enough to
00:53understand how it worked. On three of my nails, I got a really cool effect, and I did, I can
00:59see that
00:59gradiation where the sparkles concentrated at the bottom and then it phases gently out, which is cool.
01:04And on the other hand, where I let it drip, I don't really see the shimmer or that gradiation effect.
01:08I definitely like this, but I think I need a lot more practice with it before I feel comfortable enough
01:14to be able to replicate this effect on all of my nails. It comes in four different shades, purple, blue,
01:20pink, and coral, and it's $25 each and available at department stores nationwide starting in May.
