starting an argument about The Dragon King's Forbidden Maid, and I know this one's unpopular.
The moment she could have run, she didn't. She stayed inside the sentence, because leaving meant leaving him behind.
Noble. Also: she raised a child inside a building that had already decided she was disposable, and taught him that was normal.
He grows up useful to that court. He gets a place at that table. And he learns, by watching, exactly how much a person is worth when they stop being convenient.
She protected him from the road and handed him the palace instead. I'm not sure that was the safer choice.
✨ What worked for me:
- Her son is never shown resenting her. That's the tragedy.
- Nobody in the show ever asks what he witnessed.
✨ Bottom line: staying for a child is a decision made on the child's behalf, too.
Did she make the right call?
— GSH, guilty pleasures, well served 🥂
