00:01It wasn't really boy or girl or anything like that, I just knew that I didn't want to have hair
00:05on my legs.
00:06I first started getting facial hair when I came off the pill.
00:09I realised within a year I started growing on a full-on beard.
00:12I have polycystic ovarian syndrome.
00:14One of my main symptoms is excess facial and body hair.
00:17It started making me feel really conscious in terms of looking at other women's chins.
00:22I didn't really want to go out much. I was so embarrassed about the hair on my face.
00:25It was really affecting my confidence.
00:27I even stopped modelling for a few years.
00:29I used to say jokingly back then like 90% of being a trans woman is hair removal.
00:34Being a beauty editor has definitely changed my relationship with my PCOS.
00:39I've tried everything to remove my excess hair including waxing,
00:43plucking, threading, sugaring, bleaching, tweezing, shaving,
00:47just willing them away.
00:49I think in terms of hair removal it's just finding out what works for you.
00:53If I hadn't have spoken to my friends I don't think I'd ever known
00:56there was a facial epilator to use.
00:58I use IPL on my legs, my stomach, my arms and my chin.
01:03I probably epilate about once a month.
01:06I'm not happy unless I'm faffing about pampering myself basically.
01:09I feel like I have a platform now to talk about body hair.
01:12A lot more people are being represented in terms of different skin types, different hair types.
01:18Everybody has a look that works for them.
01:21You can just find out what that is for you and turn the volume upon it.
01:24It just makes me feel more confident overall to just be the best version of myself that I can be.
01:31I'll see you next time.
