fifth post here, and the payback in it is not a scene. It's a document.
Everybody waiting for the moment he takes revenge will be waiting a while. There's no confrontation, no ruined man on his knees, no speech.
What happens instead: a roster gets rewritten. A reporting line gets changed. A column that used to measure output gets a second column beside it.
The men who worked him keep their jobs. Some of them never learn what happened.
That's the least cinematic ending possible, and the most accurate one — because the thing that hurt him wasn't a person, so punishing a person wouldn't have fixed anything.
✨ What worked for me:
- No revenge montage. None.
- The fix is administrative and slightly boring.
✨ Bottom line: some justice looks like a form, not a fist.
Would that have felt like enough to you?
— K, karma is a dish best served on screen 🥂
