00:00And then Rihanna just because she's a queen.
00:04Hey, I'm Ryan Destiny and I'm here with R29, Unbothered.
00:10My dream biopic would probably be Lauryn Hill,
00:13but I don't really know if she'd ever actually be down for it
00:18because I'd only be down for it if she would be down for it.
00:21Wink at Lauryn.
00:28Aaliyah.
00:30Diana Ross and Rihanna because everyone chooses Rihanna
00:34who wouldn't want that career.
00:35But I feel like Aaliyah and Diana really captured what I really want,
00:41which is a career in film and a career in the music industry.
00:47Like, that's like the ultimate for me.
00:49I would love that so, so, so, so much.
00:51And then Rihanna just because she's a queen.
00:57Alex, just because it's my first role where I get to sing and act, so it's just kind of perfect.
01:07And I feel like we've been on a journey almost together, like finding ourselves, finding our sound,
01:13trying to figure out who we are and making a name for ourselves and just all the crazy stuff that
01:20goes on in the music industry I definitely relate to.
01:23And I've been in a girl group before, she's obviously in one.
01:27And so, there's just a lot of parallels there.
01:33The very first time that I realized that there was such an issue with colorism, especially in my world, was
01:41in high school.
01:42And there was never a certain point, there were just so many things that would happen and it would feel
01:49normal to me.
01:50Like, whatever someone would say, whether it be you're pretty for a dark skinned girl or certain guys wouldn't like
01:56me because of my color
01:57and would be embarrassed and would rather go for someone else and whatever it may be, I thought it was
02:03normal.
02:04And the way that I moved on from it was just realizing my worth.
02:09I think it starts from you.
02:10You just have to, you know, love yourself truly and not because it's cool, not because it's trendy.
02:21In five years, I would really love to see us everywhere.
02:29Not even just in film, just in so many different fields where I feel like there's just a lack for
02:36us and not just black girls, Asian girls.
02:41I just feel like it's very important for a lot of people, a lot of races.
02:45And I feel like in five years, that's very possible.
02:48And if we're not there yet in five years, we got a problem.
02:56My sound as an artist really reflects who I am.
03:00I think, especially right now in my life, I'm a very laid back person, chill person, R&B influenced person.
03:07But the first song that I put out called The Same, you can just feel that it's very vibey, laid
03:13back.
