00:00In the summer of 1992,
00:03my friends and I shot a road movie on the streets of Singapore
00:06that was to become a kind of urban legend.
00:17I find myself on a strange backward journey,
00:20replaying the past for clues.
00:26Okay, I listened to your tape that you did in your room.
00:29I loved it.
00:30I like being your best friend.
00:32You're my best friend.
00:35I like knowing that you're around.
00:39I like knowing that we're connected.
00:42We're partners in crime.
00:44Make me another tape, please.
00:47I miss you.
00:56I learned to stop thinking about that time.
01:00To pretend it never happened.
01:03Which was, of course, impossible.
01:10Shirkus became a secret history
01:13shared by a small group of us.
01:16And it would haunt us,
01:19and bond us,
01:20and tear us apart.
01:25Ooh-oh, eh-oh.
01:28Ooh-oh, eh-oh.
01:30Ooh-oh, eh-oh.
01:33Ooh-oh.
