00:00Patrick Stewart.
00:06This indeed is street theatre.
00:09And I'm overwhelmed and amazed and delighted.
00:24When I woke up this morning I obviously saw the news
00:26and then when I knew that I was coming along the Walk of Fame today
00:29when we passed the Hollywood Museum earlier
00:32I saw the little memorial with his statue, got a little photo with it
00:35because my mom and I are big fans of him
00:38and we just love his character in Star Trek
00:39and then I had to do the little peace salute
00:41like bye bye captain
00:43Can you do it for me?
00:47And then obviously when I saw the star I've been looking this whole time
00:50and it was like I finally found it
00:53I hope he rests in peace
00:54because I do have amazing memories watching Star Trek
00:57and then when he got into being Professor X with X-Men
00:59it was like wow you're just everywhere now
01:02and all of my favorite things
01:03He is just one of the greatest to ever do it
01:06I mean his Shakespearean performances are great
01:08and I mean I also am a huge Trekkie
01:12so that's really kind of where I got into him
01:14and a couple of underrated performances I really enjoy of him
01:17is when he appeared as King Richard in Robin Hood Men in Tights
01:21parodying Sean Connery in Prince of Thieves
01:23and in Prince of Egypt as the voice of SETI
01:26I also happen to have a stutter and a speech impediment
01:29so I took great inspiration from his roles
01:33both as Captain Picard but as Professor Xavier
01:37because being a person with a disability
01:42seeing him on screen in a role like that
01:45just was very meaningful for me
01:48I'm an actress so Patrick Stewart was like really inspiring to me
01:51like he really had great acting skills
01:55and his role in X-Men was like phenomenal
01:58I feel like you know everyone knows like the bald guy
02:01who like control people's minds or like
02:04I just feel really sad that he's gone
02:16We work for the Royal Shakespeare Company together
02:18and he did a wonderful wonderful ghost in Hamlet
02:21and also played several other parts
02:24so he's a wonderful actor
02:25very sad to hear he's gone
02:27may he rest in peace
02:28I'm distraught
02:30I'm so upset
02:31I did not know that
02:33an extraordinary extraordinary presence
02:37and great artist
02:40that's awful
02:42It's very sad
02:43it's a loss for the arts
02:45it's a loss for the movies
02:48and he was such an icon
02:50not only in the movies
02:51but his appreciation for the theatre
02:54for the movie industry
02:57I think we're going to hear a lot
02:59from a lot of contemporaries
03:01of his over the next coming days
03:02about his wonderful career
03:04absolutely just devastated
03:06the man was a giant
03:07not only in the theatre
03:09but also in film
03:10and in television
03:12he was known for his kindness
03:14he was known for his generosity
03:16especially with helping young actors
03:19who are just starting out
03:21and giving advice
03:22and giving mentorship
03:23he's just someone that was a
03:26just a national treasure
03:28a bigger than life presence
03:30for all of us in the industry
03:31and he will be sorely missed
03:32kill off
03:33he's you
