00:23And in fact, I'm braless right now.
00:24I'm a 32G and I hate going braless.
00:27I feel like a bra prepares me for the day.
00:32So even on like a Saturday when I'm just spending a lazy day around the house,

00:38But I'll be like in full pajamas, but wearing a bra.
00:41The decision is made to go braless whenever I A, don't feel like wearing a bra,
00:47B, don't need to wear a bra or C, the second I get home.
00:50I don't go braless because I got huge ass titties and it is extremely uncomfortable.
00:55If there's an outfit that looks good without a bra and my breasts look good in them,

01:09I'll never forget when I got my first bra.
01:11And it wasn't because it was a really exciting experience with my mom.
01:14It was actually because the day before, a girl came up to me in middle school and said,

01:23I was so uncomfortable.
01:24I didn't realize that people were noticing that I had boobs and were talking about the
01:28way that I looked.
01:29I remember asking my mom for my first bra.
01:31I wanted like this huge pushup bra that was like four times this like natural size.
01:37The first time I went shopping with a bra was with my mom and she was very loud about
01:42it.
01:42And I was just really embarrassed and I didn't want anyone knowing that my boobs are so small.
01:46I jumped like four cups my seventh grade year and I would always sleep in a bra.
01:52I was never taking my bra off and my mom was like, Katie, you can't always be wearing
01:56a bra.
01:56It's so uncomfortable.
01:57How do you sleep with one on?
01:58And I was like, mom, I read this thing that if you wear a bra at night, your boobs are

02:04I don't think ditching a bra makes your boobs more saggy.
02:06I really think that your boobs are just going to be their boobs.

02:18Feminists associate bras with restriction, but bras were initially invented to free women
02:22from corsets, which were very, very restrictive.
02:25Have you seen bra designs from the 60s?
02:27Those things were like mini torture devices on your chest.
02:30So a bra kind of feels like a shoe that's too tight, but it's on your chest.
02:34And you know when you're trying to like loosen the shoe up, it's kind of the same when you
02:38have like a tight bra, but you have to do it like really discreetly.
02:41I totally get the feeling of being like locked in there or feeling constrained, but that's
02:47actually what I feel most comfortable in.
02:50The great thing about female empowerment is that it comes in many forms.
02:53Some seek it through modesty, whereas others seek it through liberation.
02:56If you see and feel it as a feminist act to not wear a bra, you can totally do that,
03:02but I don't think it's necessary.
03:03I don't want to say I don't think it's a feminist act, but I don't want to shame people
03:08who do prefer to wear bras into thinking that, well, if I'm a feminist, I have to have this
03:12like crazy movement of everyone see my nipple and I don't care.
03:16I think going braless can absolutely be a feminist act because people are almost intimidated
03:22by those who are confident in their skin and those who feel good in what they were given.
03:28And if they rock it, they're like, oh my God, that's not okay.
03:33But it is absolutely okay.
03:35Free the nipple, free the nipple, whoo-hoo!
03:38Nipples are not taboo, nipples are delicious.
03:41Showing female nipples is currently taboo, and it shouldn't be.
03:45But if it's just a picture of a girl and you can see her nipple, we should just be able
03:50to see her nipple.
03:51I think boobs in and of themselves have become inherently sexual, which is very unfair because
03:58they are just an organ of the body.
04:01And even though people think that they're a sex organ, they technically aren't because they aren't a reproductive organ.
04:07The boob itself is just like this thing where men are like, oh my God.
04:12And really, they're just to feed little dumb babies.
04:15Men have definitely sexualized every part of a woman's body, so even her just nurturing her own child to them
04:23looks like something that's sexual or something that is taboo because people don't want to hashtag see that.
04:29I hate that breastfeeding in public is stigmatized because you are feeding a human being.
04:34For people to look down on women for doing that is to not recognize that she's in such an incredible
04:41position right now for caring for this other person.
04:43If I can eat in public, if you can eat in public, why can't the baby eat in public?
04:48And that's pretty much what the mom is doing by breastfeeding her child.
