00:07flight to Starbucks headquarters in Seattle to find out about the smoked
00:11butterscotch latte and the citrus green tea latte and check out where they both
00:15originated. They started at the Roastery, a one-of-a-kind coffee shop serving up
00:20exclusive menu items that are made with some seriously cool equipment. This is
00:24the siphon or sometimes called a vacuum pot. I kind of feel like I'm back at
00:29Ketlap in high school. It's also where customers first fell in love with the two
00:33new flavors we're about to see. I'm standing outside of Starbucks headquarters
00:38where we're about to go find out how two new drink flavors are made. So I know
00:42this is the first time that consumers are getting sort of a taste of what comes
00:46from the Roastery with these brand new beverages. Can you tell me a little bit
00:49about the inspiration for the two new drinks? Sure. With the smoked butter
00:53scotch. They're kind of a medium roast so we wanted to add a little smokiness to
00:59the butterscotch to help highlight the bean. And what about the new matcha latte?
01:04Can you tell me a little bit about that? The citrus and the herbs are in the syrup
01:08and then the green tea is added to the milk so when the milk is steamed it's
01:13infused with the matcha. That sounds really good. Our readers love bacon. Is that
01:18something that you could ever see adding to a coffee drink? Absolutely. Really? I
01:23think umami flavors are really great with coffee with espresso beans. The next big
01:30coffee trend is maybe going savory. Jerky. Jerky latte.
