00:00Thank y'all so much again. I'm DJ Yeapur.
00:04Please give it up for Misty and Mocha's last motherfuckin' Mocha Man.
00:10So yeah, we've been together for, what was it, eight years now?
00:13Just over eight years.
00:14Just over eight years now.
00:15When we met on Long Island, I was doing makeup for a production of Rocky Horror Picture Show.
00:23The greatest show ever in the world.
00:27And I was doing rip-raps makeup.
00:29And I walked through the door.
00:31And you were yelling at somebody, I think.
00:34Probably.
00:34I think you were yelling at somebody.
00:36And then I needed, I don't know why, but I was just immediately drawn to you.
00:39I had to speak to you, so I lied about wanting a cigarette.
00:44Because I had a full pack in my back pocket.
00:47I went out and smoked a cigarette.
00:48You had a boyfriend at the time, though.
00:49Yeah.
00:50And ironically, my friend, not knowing that you were with his boyfriend,
00:53and brought us there.
00:55Brought me there to set me up with your current boyfriend.
00:58Yeah.
01:00And while I was doing that, I was on Halloween.
01:02Mm-hmm.
01:03We met on Halloween, but we...
01:05And then we started dating around his birthday, around his 18th birthday.
01:08My 18th birthday, December.
01:09December.
01:12And, um...
01:13And it's been a wild ride ever since.
01:21No.
01:21We would absolutely never have sex in drag.
01:23Never have, never will.
01:25No.
01:25It's too much work, and it just wouldn't work.
01:27It's like, how do you, I mean...
01:29How do you even do that?
01:30Like, the only functional part of having sex in drag is leaving your wig on.
01:33But that's not fun.
01:35No.
01:36I don't want all that plastic hair all up in my mouth, everywhere.
01:40I have a futon wrapped around my ass.
01:43This isn't gonna happen, like, neat and clean.
01:45No.
01:45And sex is dirty, and nasty, and gross, and that's what makes it awesome.
01:49And you can't do that in drag.
01:52You can't do that comfortably, at least.
01:54No.
01:54Because if you're doing it, doing it.
01:55Hey, girl.
01:56Go for it, girl.
01:57I'm not gonna stop you.
01:58But I know it's not a walk in the park.
02:07I don't think it's unusual for drag queens to date.
02:10I think it kind of helps, because you know what the other person's going through.
02:14Like, unless you have a very understanding boyfriend, it's hard to be boyfriend with
02:18a drag queen.
02:19Because, you know, like, when we're getting ready, like, you'll see, like, once the chaos
02:22starts, when we have to, like, start getting dressed and stuff, like, we're just yelling
02:27at each other.
02:28Yeah.
02:28It's often, yeah, it's often, like, you know.
02:31But we understand, we're both, like, stressed, you know.
02:34Yeah, it's often crazy.
02:34We're running late.
02:35It's hard.
02:35It's stressful.
02:36If your boyfriend doesn't do drag, it's easy for him to see your job or what you're
02:41doing is super narcissistic.
02:43Yeah.
02:44And get very fed up with you.
02:45Yeah.
02:45Yeah.
02:46Yeah.
02:47Yeah.
02:47Yeah.
02:48Yeah.
02:49Yeah.
02:50That's so pretty.
02:53Y'all make sure y'all tip my sister.
02:56Yeah.
02:57I have been agreeing fucking money shit.
03:03You think my birthday girl Shawn's holding up the bucket?
03:21Drag is not not a fad. It seems like a fad right now. It's a fad to a lot of
03:25people right now.
03:26It's a fad right now to a lot of people exactly. But drag is an ancient art form that has
03:31always
03:31been around and will always be around. They're only doing it for like a social media presence
03:38like just to be famous. They're just doing it because it's an easy way to be famous.
03:42They don't do it for the same reasons anymore. We do it because we love it. We do it.
03:46We did it when people fucking hated it. When we did it when boys, you know, when our families
03:51would stop talking to us and boys would make fun of us and not like us. And I do it
03:55because
03:56I do it because of like that moment when we were at Lux that night and I turned around
04:01and all of a sudden Olivia Satine rose from the crowd of gays and sparkled like an emerald,
04:07you know, jewel. And all I could see over all the boys heads was just her gigantic feathers,
04:13that power she had over the room. I knew I could have that. I knew I could do that.
04:17And I fell in love with doing it. And we have, you know, I know for a fact that the
04:25reason we're
04:26together and the reason we're still together and we probably will always stay together is
04:30that Mocha is one of the only people that I've ever met in my entire life that has challenged me
04:36every single step of the way. And every single challenge has made me a better person,
04:40made me a better artist, made me a better everything. The things that I love most about Ryan,
04:46I mean, they kind of ditto and Misty. They mirror that. Her sense of shrewd business.
04:51Shrewd businesswoman. The, you know, the sheer confidence. She's dark, she's strong,
04:58resilient, and rude. And those are all qualities I admire. Amen. I mean,
05:06they're things I share and look up to and want. I love you.
