00:15Growing up, I always hated my lips and felt very insecure about them.
00:19Now I want to emphasize them and wear bold color.
00:22Self-love to me is loving yourself either barefaced or in complete makeup,
00:26whether you're dressed up or dressed down,
00:28just loving yourself 100% unapologetically.
00:31As a stylist, I use what I learned from my great-grandmother.
00:34She'd be dressed head to toe, red lipstick, pearls, diamonds, robe, furs,
00:41and apply it into my own personal style,
00:43as well as encouraging my clients to wear bright and bold colors every day.
00:47Glamour is gone, and I'm trying to bring it back.
00:49So now I'm going to start my makeup look.
00:53First step is foundation.
00:55I'll use a beauty sponge for full coverage and a finished glow.
00:59Next is concealer.
01:01I put a little bit under each eye.
01:03Next is brows.
01:04I fill in with the powder and define with the brow mascara.
01:08Next, I swipe a mixture of gold shadow on my lids
01:11and top it off with dark shadow in my creases.
01:14After eyeshadow, I use a liquid liner to make a thick line with a little wing.
01:19Then, I take two coats of black mascara and use the end of the wand,
01:23wiggle it side to side to separate my lashes.
01:26And for finishing touches, I'll apply blush to my cheeks for a nice, rosy look.
01:31And I'll be using the same eyeshadow that I used on my lid
01:34as a highlighter on my cheekbones and my nose.
01:37I like to find my light and use it as a guide.
01:40Last step, my favorite step, lipstick.
01:43I start with a clear lip liner so I don't go outside the lines
01:46and then fill it in with my liquid lipstick.
01:49This look makes me feel like a queen, makes me feel empowered,
01:52and it makes me feel beautiful.
01:54Makeup is a power statement,
01:56and my bold lip is an extension of my personal style.
