Tattoo artist Rachel Hauer on what she loves most about her career.
Transcript
00:03This is Rachel Hauer. In her six years working as a tattoo artist, she's gone
00:09from shitty underground parlor to a spot at the esteemed East River Tattoo in
00:13Brooklyn. You want a tattoo from her, you're gonna have to wait at least a year.
00:20I've seen, you know, tattoos that I've done really touch people, like even if
00:25it's something as simple as getting their mom's signature tattooed on them, you
00:30know, after she's passed away. It's just like a really wonderful experience to be
00:34able to give someone a memory that they'll be able to cherish with them and
00:38to give them a piece of artwork that they can have on them. I think that is, to me,
00:43what's beautiful. I could say, oh the line work I do is beautiful or the drawings are
00:49beautiful, but I don't feel as strongly about that stuff as I do about the
00:53people involved in it.
01:04My work speaks for itself and if I've messed up along the way, then it's
01:10experience and it's not a failure. So I don't think that I failed.
01:19Badass answer.
