00:03Hi, I'm Annie, New York editor of Refinery29, and today we're all the way uptown in Harlem
00:08to see how people are transitioning from the super cold winter into what has become a slightly less
00:13cold spring. What's your name? Hi, Isis Ongkrik. We saw you walking across the street, strutting
00:21I should say, in this awesome coat. I just had to stop you and ask you about it. Look,
00:26so, do I have this look? You are so ready. You were waiting for us to stop you. I was
00:32waiting. I get too many compliments from it, though, and then I can have a lace. And this
00:36is really, like, a really smart tip, belting the coat, sweater, coat. Hi, so what's your
00:42name? I'm Justin. Justin, and where are you headed? I'm to work right now. Where do you
00:46work? At American Apparel. Are you decked out at American Apparel right now? Um, not completely,
00:51yeah. I pants and my shirt are, but everything else is, like, on their smashes. Where did you
00:55get your two coats? I'm wearing two coats, too. The jacket, this gem jack's actually
00:58American Apparel, and this is from JQ. Awesome. What's, um, one thing that you're
01:03really excited to wear this spring, when it does finally get warmer? Spring. I guess
01:06probably espadrilles, again. Just, like, wearing, like, comfortable shoes. Man-spadrilles.
01:10Yeah, man-spadrilles. Man-slippers, pretty much, yeah. Where do you look for stat
01:14especially? Um, I guess street etiquette, like, four pins, JQ, fit man-slippers, stuff like that.
01:24What inspires you most about New York? Oh, human spirit. I spotted your human spirit
01:33from across the street. I'm impressed by your bold camel coat, your blue briefcase,
01:37a little pop of chartreuse that I'm also sporting today. Tell us a little bit about your look
01:42and how you normally dress. Um, I just really, I dress to express myself a little more consciously
01:49than most people, but basically all of us, whether we know it or not, we're putting on a costume
01:54every day, and very few people, um, give themselves the license to be individual.
02:00What are some of your favorite stores in New York? Don't buy so much for designer, even
02:05though this happens to me if we're jealous. I just go to vintage stores. I don't really
02:10necessarily believe you should spend a lot of money to look sharp.
02:13You don't have to. You don't have to. Yeah. You really don't. And I would rather
02:17give the money to animals and, uh, children.
02:22Do you have any travel plans for spring or summer? To go anywhere even warmer than New York?
02:28Summer? No, not warmer. I'm going back to Belgium, and, and summer in Belgium is,
02:33it's not really, like, summer here. It's in the 50s all the time, so, I'm actually going
02:38to a cold place in summer. Oh, no. What's the difference between
02:42Belgium style and New York style? Uh, in New York you have people that wear great stuff,
02:47and you have people that really wear PJs in the streets, and that never happens in Belgium.
02:52I think in Belgium it's, like, more in the middle all the time, whereas in New York you have people
02:57really excited to be. Really not. So, it's clear Harlem has amazing style that's all its own,
03:03and we can't wait to explore more New York neighborhoods as the weather gets warmer.
03:08Woo!
