00:00Hey guys and welcome to Dimension. I'm Emily. I'm Ariana and I'm Serena and this
00:04is your weekly pop culture roundup of everything pop culture lovers are
00:08buzzing about this week and we are pre-gaming for none other than the Oscar.
00:12Woo! Now we had a little break in award season because of the Olympics but we are
00:17back and I'm so excited to see who's gonna take home that Oscar on this
00:21Sunday. Before we get started we are sipping on some Perrier Jouet Champagne
00:26which is actually really special guys because this is an official drink at some of the
00:31after-parties. One which I will be attending which is the call me by your
00:35name cast party. Okay we'll be attending. Of course Serena's like I'm attending. I'll be on the guest
00:41list. I'm clear. We'll see. But cheers guys. Cheers ladies. I'm excited. Cheers. All right.
00:45Are you guys ready for some champagne and hot tea? Because we have a lot we have a
00:49lot of Oscars hot tea. So first up we've been talking a lot about kind of red
00:54carpet politics this award season right? Everything from like what people are
00:57wearing to what kind of questions should be asked and E! News has kind of come
01:01under fire and there's a lot of guessing about what's gonna happen on Sunday
01:05because first of all E! kind of came under a little bit of controversy earlier
01:09this award season when a lot of celebrities from Debra Messing and Eva
01:12Longoria to SJP basically were calling them out for not paying Kat Sadler as much
01:17as the rest of the hosts were getting paid the male hosts. So that happened and then
01:21there was also a moment where Tarana Burke the founder of Me Too was speaking and E!
01:26instead panned to Dakota Johnson's dress which like who cares about what Dakota
01:30Johnson is wearing we have the Me Too founder talking right now. So E!'s kind of
01:34been messing up this award season and on top of that now Ryan Seacrest has come
01:38under fire because there were allegations from a former stylist who said that he
01:42sexually assaulted her and then Variety this week got a copy of the letter she
01:47wrote detailing what happened and it's pretty bad like it's pretty damning I have to say.
01:51So there's a lot of questions about how E! is going to handle the red carpet on
01:55Sunday. Right because as of right now Ryan Seacrest is still their point of
01:58contact but like you were saying a lot of celebrities are declining to do
02:01interviews there's even a report that the producer said they have no celebrities
02:04booked. Yeah. So it's a big thing and I think kind of what we saw with E! is you
02:09know obviously E! is a huge network and they want to be as politically correct as
02:12possible but when you pour so much time and energy into the wrong things and not
02:17focusing on really dedicating your time to answering those Me Too
02:20times of questions all people remember are like the Debra Messing moments where
02:23E! didn't step up and they didn't you know take control of the questions they
02:26were asking. And as of right now E! does say that Ryan is still supposed to be
02:29hosting on Sunday which that's a bold call because if you read that letter I
02:33mean this girl's talking about how he was groping her in his underwear and this
02:37was ongoing from 2007 until 2013 but they said that they closed the
02:41investigation against him because of a lack of evidence but they've had this letter
02:45since November so it's definitely a little sketchy on behalf of E! and
02:48obviously they've had you know they've had controversy with Juliana Rancic I
02:52know you love her but they've had controversy with Juliana Rancic before for
02:55you know she said that Zendaya looked like she smelled like patchouli on a red
02:59carpet like they have had they've come under fire a few times so I think E! needs to
03:04really step their game up on Sunday if they really want to stay in the red
03:07carpet hosting game absolutely I couldn't agree more crazy that they're
03:10still having Ryan do it I are celebrities gonna go up to him what do you guys think
03:14well actually the cut did a big investigative piece yesterday that came
03:17out and some of their sources said that some celebrities have talked about maybe
03:22just going and only speaking to Juliana which I think would be kind of weird I
03:26think it's like they're trying to make a point but I think if you really want to
03:28make a point just skip E! altogether because I'm sorry but I feel like they made the
03:33wrong call on this you know what I also think though is I feel like we're seeing a lot of
03:36people being outspoken and using their place as you know being able to speak
03:39and have this platform and I could see a lot of celebrities actually going up to
03:42Ryan and and asking about them easy times that move right and really just
03:45asking straight let me tell you who's gonna be nervous on Saturday night Ryan
03:48secrets I can't imagine the prep that's going into that right now he knows it's coming
03:52well I thought that we'd see no more of Harvey Weinstein but alas he is near the
03:58red carpet but not really luckily on Thursday a statue a gold statue of Harvey
04:04Weinstein appeared very close to where the Oscars going to be on Sunday he's a
04:08robe swaddled on a casting couch which is incredible because fans can literally go
04:13and sit next to him and he has an Oscar statue kind of placed strategically by his
04:18groin area this is actually collab by street artist Plastic Jesus who's best
04:22known for his annual Oscar season installations that aim at the dark side of
04:28show business and provide a lot of social commentary and collabed with Joshua
04:32ginger Monroe who's this artist who's behind the infamous naked Donald Trump
04:35statues so I really love this piece I think it's so poignant and just like
04:40even though I don't want to see any more of Harvey Weinstein I think it's
04:43important to show that like just because maybe he's out of the industry
04:47doesn't mean his legacy isn't and that like we still need to continue hashtag
04:51times up but the piece was intentionally crafted so you could sit next to him and
04:56take a picture which I thought was interesting because basically the
04:59artists were saying that to be able to knock a monster down and peg and put fun
05:03and ridicule him helps remove its power right so I thought that was really
05:08really smart what do you guys think about the statue I think that's really
05:10powerful and actually after I saw this article I went and looked up the artist
05:13Plastic Jesus and he's kind of known for making these art installations like you
05:16were saying that have some sort of deeper meaning or they you know deconstruct
05:19some social concept and so I really loved the fact that he does this and he even
05:23said that for this statue that he created it was a crowdsource so he's like I want
05:27funds from that and so people actually supported it so I think that goes to
05:30show that people wanted this to happen like you were saying to really claim
05:33that power and to have this sort of peace and almost like a laugh not a
05:37laughing moment but right some sort of where you can feel like you can grasp it
05:40and kind of take your own power back with it I agree but I one thing I mean I
05:44don't know I don't know about you guys but I didn't even want to see his face
05:46like I have some kind of like another idea that's a good point and I think you
05:49know I think Variety and or The Hollywood Reporter one of the two of them did a
05:53story what if we made the Oscar statue this year a woman and I think like
05:56something like that that would have been a little bit more empowering could have
05:59been a more interesting way to kind of start that conversation of taking the
06:02power back so I got the intent behind that statue but I didn't love the fact
06:06that it was like actually Harvey because I'm like I don't even want to sit next to
06:09that man see that man anything. It's also gross like I wouldn't want that on my
06:12insta feed right I don't want him here but but on the other hand it's kind of like he
06:16was such a huge part of this year yeah you feel like you almost have to
06:19acknowledge it right yeah but yeah I can see what you're saying there are
06:22probably other ways to do it but it seemed like it could yeah it definitely made a
06:24statement yeah that's for sure and you guys remember last year the Oscar
06:29switching gears just a little bit to another scandal was when the best
06:33picture was announced the most infamous moment where La La Land thought they had
06:38won the best picture award it turns out Moonlight actually had won and cue to the
06:42most awkward 25 to 30 second clip on television people were scrambling no one
06:48knew what to do people were pointing fingers it was a huge thing and honestly I
06:52was cringing at home do you guys remember watching oh absolutely I was
06:54here in the office at refinery and all of us literally were just like what's
06:57happening like it took a minute to really figure out what had happened because we
07:00were all just screaming and I was like I can't hear what are they saying like it
07:03was it was the craziest moment I've ever seen on ever and it was wild and so
07:07many people were pulling for La La Land so many people pulling for Moonlight so the
07:09fact that those two up against each other crazy so this year the Oscars are not
07:15taking any chances and I thought this is really interesting they've actually
07:18implemented six new rules oh are you guys ready for them the first one the
07:23celebrity presenter and the stage manager will confirm they have been giving the
07:26correct envelope which to me is a no-brainer like why was that not happening
07:31already why I'm confused why that's a new rule being implemented but okay the
07:35second PWC partners are prohibited from using cell phones or social media during the
07:39show I guess they could get distracted or it's to say so what happened he was
07:42taking a selfie the guy that messed up last year he wasn't supposed to be
07:46doing that but he's like oh here's the card I gotta take a selfie and like that's
07:50what happened yeah no no cell phones at all they're doing right there one job
07:55but so the PWC accountants who actually do the show will have the memorize the
07:59winners list before you know it's always you open it up and they're surprised too
08:02they already know so there's no no chance so a third balloting partner in the
08:06control room also has the list memorized so before something happens they're gonna cut
08:11away the control room will know so all three accountants will attend rehearsals
08:16and practice if anything goes wrong which again another one shouldn't they
08:20already be in rehearsals and practice I don't know all right and this year the
08:23PWC chairman Tim Ryan will personally be involved with Oscars operations this
08:27year so I feel like Tim was product last year he's like you guys are all
08:30screwed up I'm taking it over yeah he was probably at home eating popcorn he was
08:34like ah damn next year I gotta actually go to this show make sure they do it like no I
08:39mean the
08:39thing about last year it's like okay the right person ended up winning the
08:42right movie but at the same time like I was upset because because it was a live
08:46show and it had to end I feel like Moonlight didn't get there and this
08:49speech that they got to make like it was like oh like craziness yeah well like
08:53they almost got robbed of their moment 100% and the next day I mean there was a
08:57lot of memes about that and a lot of people who were outraged and that's why a
09:00lot of people thought it was maybe conspiracy like it was like oh we're
09:02finally gonna give this amazing black movie this moment but right not really though so I
09:06mean I I hope that that's not true I mean I wouldn't put it past anybody
09:10I also do feel bad for La La Land too because you rewatched that clip and
09:17they're all just like rustling around stage they look so scared afterwards like
09:21that has to be like a scarring moment also also the memes of everyone in the
09:25audience like Meryl Streep like like yeah those were reactions wild wild well guys
09:30there's even more Oscars controversy this year it's like there's a lot
09:33happening actually The Shape of Water now y'all know this was I loved The Shape of
09:37Water like I was so excited about this movie like it was so romantic and
09:41fantastical but there's a little controversy surrounding it so basically
09:45this man who named Paul Zendel says that Guillermo del Toro who directed the
09:53movie which by the way it was nominated 13 times for an Oscar this year so it's a
09:58big Oscar movie it's in the running for a lot of different categories and it's won so
10:01many other awards too yeah yeah and it's already getting a lot of love but
10:05Paul Zendel basically accused the director Guillermo of plagiarizing the
10:09script from a play that came out in 1969 so Paul Zendel's father David wrote a
10:14play about a woman who is working in a science lab who falls in love with a
10:20dolphin now that may sound similar to The Shape of Water which is about a
10:25mute woman who's a cleaning lady in a research lab and falls in love with an
10:28alien so doesn't it sounds very similar however there are I mean there are some
10:33big differences and Guillermo is saying that he never ever heard of this play
10:39before that all of his collaborators vehemently deny ever having heard of
10:43seen read a script for the play anything okay but guys when I watched the movie I
10:47was like this is Beauty and the Beast well there I mean there's similarities to a
10:50lot of those like woman falls in love with another species I didn't think it was that original either
10:55I will say though art imitates art like everything is inspired by something for sure
10:59and I sort of have I feel like that he created this beautiful movie and he's
11:03probably was inspired by lots of other things he's seen before an interesting
11:06thing though was that this movie came out last fall and they didn't actually
11:10come forward about the plagiarism claims until January and so Fox in their
11:14statement very shadily was like I think that they just want money out of us
11:18because they waited until award season to say anything and now they're trying to
11:21get us to settle but we're not backing down
11:23we're we're standing behind Guillermo and his claims that he didn't plagiarize
11:27this is his project no one has ever collaborated on anything with this play
11:31so I mean it was interesting timing like this movie's been out for a hot
11:35minute y'all waited till word season to say anything you know it's a really
11:38interesting fact that I read yesterday researching the Oscars is that typically in
11:41the past Oscars year the winner of Best Picture their like revenue and sales
11:46of people seeing the movie goes up by at least three million yeah right you
11:49will make sense right the best picture but it's watching and they actually go
11:54see it which so it's funny it's like you're right a Fox would be like what the
11:57heck yeah like they're like you guys are just trying to get the money out of
12:00us now so I don't know I still love the shape of water and I hope that it gets a
12:04lot of love during award season but there's also so many other great movies
12:06nominated so I guess we'll see did you love shape of water um no funny because
12:16after I was gearing up going to see it I was like yes can't wait like Ari loves it
12:20the next day I came in and I was like Ari listen I think maybe I just missed
12:24something I was like I'm so confused I was literally just like I mean yes it was
12:29beautiful and then after that I really did want to learn sign language but other than that
12:32that was the takeaway the whole thing I was like I felt like it was overhyped I
12:38did like the art direction but I'm kind of like yeah I would think I disagree on
12:42movies sometimes if you guys like shape of water I want to know comment below
12:52because I liked it too I like I thought it was very stylized on to the next guys
12:56there's an Oscars category that I should start and it's called breakout stars and
13:02it we should say just like that but anyway I want to recognize the actors
13:05that literally appeared out of thin air during 2017 and number one I want to
13:11give it to well I want to give it to Tiffany Haddish our girl yes and
13:15Timothée Chalamet my future husband who is like the he is like the it person right
13:20now oh so sexy 2017 was the year of Tiffany Haddish though and it sucks that
13:24girl's trip got snubbed and it was nominated for zero awards I know how
13:29Ariana feels about that because it grossed over a hundred and forty million
13:31dollars worldwide and it was also considered one of the top films of 2017
13:36and I thought that having Regina Hall Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith was
13:40like having the trifecta and then all of a sudden comes this newcomer Tiffany
13:43Haddish Adam and I'm like hold on where have you been yeah I mean Tiffany she
13:49didn't really come out of thin air because she's been on the stand-up scene for a
13:52hot minute yes that's true her thing but it really put her like on the mat for
13:56sure so it was really a bummer but I will say Tiffany has gotten some amazing
14:00opportunities she's hosting them to be movie awards she's gonna be doing voicing
14:04an animated character she's a first look now she did SNL she's got she got a
14:08first look deal with Netflix so I feel like what for her she's like Oscars who
14:12like I'm fine but I it's all good we actually have a video to show you her best
14:16moments of 2017 take a look I want to be somebody when I grow up I always want
14:34to be I want to be I want to be a huge star I grew up in foster care anybody
14:38else grew up
14:39in the system make some noise if it was in the system I'm the only special here huh
14:47I used to work at an airline okay yeah yeah let's get to this story real quick as soon as
14:51I seen you I
14:52upgraded you to first class right because your seat was in the back and so I had asked you for
14:59your autograph and you was like I'm not really in the mood to sign any autographs and I was like
15:04I'm not in the mood to sign any autographs and I was like I'm not in the mood to sign
15:04any autographs
15:04I'm not in the mood to get first class upgrades either but I want to get my own place one
15:10day work with Jada Pinkett Smith have my own stand-up comedy set special sit across from you one day
15:15and you googly eye me like yeah
15:22you selected boo-boo jefferies
15:25knock knock who's there boo-boo jefferies boo-boo jefferies who if you don't know you stupid
15:33they tell you you're not funny they tell you if you do this I'll give you this if you do
15:36that
15:36I'll let you open up for me uh-uh I'm gonna use my talent I'm gonna use my know-how
15:40and I'm gonna use my
15:41work ethic to achieve and then one day you gonna be asking to open up for me and that's what
15:46happened
15:51many of these
15:57I will not allow no man to shut down this dream I have because it keeps coming to me and
16:03it's like
16:03God keep telling me you gotta do this you gotta share your story you gotta spread this joy you gotta
16:07spread
16:07love like you gotta do it tip is epic I'm obsessed with her I mean she is truly my favorite
16:14breakout
16:14star of definitely and we got to give some love to Tiffany Chalamet he's from New York he went to
16:19LaGuardia High School so I feel like we're like connected somehow and anyway I thought he had an
16:23amazing performance in Call Me By Your Name he's been in Homeland like he's been around as an actor too
16:27but like this was really his breakout movie and he's nominated for Best Actor so I'm really hopeful for
16:32him that being said the youngest person ever to have won Best Actor was 29 years old and that was
16:37Adrian Brody when he played the pianist in The Pianist so I feel like the Academy isn't about
16:43giving really young people awards but I think if anyone were to do it it would be Timothy for sure
16:48I mean that scene at the end of that movie when he looks into the camera like everyone has been
16:53talking about that scene I've never seen a movie like that in a movie ever everything I mean you don't
16:58you don't see him reading act you don't see you don't see him like okay this isn't the script like
17:03sometimes you can catch up with that like it just he is the role he played it so beautifully and
17:08I
17:09just I don't know I really I'm hoping for it you know I want to watch Call Me By Your
17:11Name tonight
17:12you do
17:13let's have a movie party
17:14you know what it reminds me of though is like you remember when you first saw Leo in Titanic like
17:17there's something about him that's so captivating I feel like he's like a little young Leo where like
17:21and now everyone's obsessed with him he's on the cover of GQ he's got all these new movies
17:24Jennifer Lawrence is like I'm waiting to marry him and I'm like girl get in line I don't like that
17:30pairing honestly I feel like if he doesn't win this award season he's gonna be around for a very long
17:35yeah I mean he's also in Lady Bird which came out like I don't think he this is really just
17:39the start
17:40for him I think you're gonna have an amazing career absolutely so if it he doesn't get an
17:43Oscar on Sunday I think he's gonna get it but I am rooting for him I love him I've got
17:47our favorite moments to
17:48Timothy
18:05I don't know who I fooled to let me into a category with someone as talented as Mary J Blige
18:10but I will take it the ease with which you are able to traverse across so many mediums with such
18:15skill Miss Blige is a tremendous inspiration and I'm simply honored to have been included in the
18:19category with you tonight and I'm serious about that
18:42you're not sick of me yet no I just I just wanted to be with you
18:49I'll I'm gonna I'll go
19:01hey I like your band uh with Jonah Ruiz Len Fence New
19:11uh well I I saw your Thanksgiving show my name's Lady Bird
19:15it's weird you shake hands
19:17yeah
19:42and lastly since I am a New York guy I thought I'd take a moment to thank
19:47some New York artists that have inspired me Edie Falco Mary J Blige Greta Gerwig
19:51Josh Safdie Cardi B Al Pacino Martin Scorsese Kid Cudi and my mom who's sitting right there
19:58peace and love thank you
20:14all right guys so it is now time to pack a punch I wanted to talk about a movie that
20:19really packed a punch this year get out
20:21do you guys remember when get out first came out and it was just everywhere it was like everyone was
20:25talking about it it was like it really took over the zeitgeist
20:27100% right yep
20:29so get out really actually made history this year for a few different reasons the first reason was it was
20:34one of the rare movies to get a hundred percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes which was at the time since
20:38then like Lady Bird and a few other movies have gotten the same rating but get out was the first
20:42movie to really ever do that
20:44that was a big moment and I think it kind of was an underdog movie where you heard about it
20:48a ton but then once it was like a hundred percent Rotten Tomatoes everyone's like wait what is this
20:51right and director Jordan Peele who you guys may remember from Key and Peele he's a comedian he's been doing
20:56his kind of funny thing for a long time so this very unique kind of combination of horror satire social
21:02commentary that was a really it was like something totally unexpected concoction that he whipped out exactly and we hadn't
21:08really seen anything like that um you know in movies before so Jordan Peele actually made history
21:14as the first director to get best screenplay best director and best picture nomination and he's a black man so
21:20just saying like that is a really big moment in history for sure um and he also made history because
21:26he um is now kind of he started this new genre so he's gonna be releasing a lot more like
21:31social commentary satire horror genre mixed movies and he's already making a movie which is coming out next year he
21:38hasn't confirmed what it's about but imagine all the things that he could talk about that were kind of like
21:42get out but in a different way
21:44yes that was the big thing is I remember when my roommates and I sat down to watch a movie
21:48wanted to watch a scary movie a horror movie but I think he does so well as he mixes this
21:52like sort of thrill of watching you know a thriller or a scary movie but there is such a more
21:56deeper social construct within the theme of the movie yeah and he did that so effortlessly and then obviously it
22:02appealed to so many people and it takes great writing to do that it's all about the subtext it's not
22:06on the nose you know drama and scary which we see in all these horror movies recently like the fact
22:11that he really created a genre which it feels like
22:14he did yeah so sick also he's funny too like right well that's the thing I think the most history
22:20making thing that he did with this movie is he really showed like this was a movie an indie movie
22:25about an interracial couple that was like horror slash comedy that does not sound like it's gonna break box office
22:30records right and it did so it just goes to show that like if studios can take a chance on
22:33a movie regardless of what it's about that will really it could resonate with anyone you don't have to necessarily
22:38like see yourself in the movie to go see it totally and I'm glad you mentioned that Ari because
22:43last year obviously we saw hashtag Oscar so white sorry not last year but we remembered the Oscar so white
22:50scandal and the social media outcry and so this year the Academy has changed things a bit as obviously last
22:57year there were six black acting nominees but I have to say I am a little hurt because as a
23:02Latino woman and I'm sure you can feel me on this it sucks that we're not seeing more Latinos being
23:06represented in the Academy or in Hollywood at all right so all Latinos are the minority group that Hollywood
23:13what excludes the most Latinos make up 18% of the US population and 23% of them are frequent
23:20moviegoers that is a huge chunk but according to a recent study only 3% of characters in films speaking
23:26parts are Latino yeah that is incredibly crazy imbalance that I think that we need to fix so the only
23:33one Hispanic man has ever won best actor and no Hispanic woman has ever been named best actress and the
23:39last Hispanic actor to win an Oscar was Penelope Cruz for Vicky
23:42Cristina Barcelona which is one of my favorite movies but it was for a supporting role and although Latinos were
23:49nominated this year it was for all things behind the camera not in front of the camera and I don't
23:55know I'm bummed I'm really over it I think that you know I have seen obviously we've progressed I think
23:59that a lot of African Americans were nominated but we need to like where the Latinos were the Asians let's
24:05keep it going what do you think about this I mean what's interesting is I actually last year for the
24:09last Oscar season wrote a really big deep dive reported feature about how
24:12Oscar so white does mean that we also need Latinos and Asian Americans in Hollywood as well we've made a
24:17little bit of progress for black folks but now like we also need to look at what diversity means across
24:21the board that was last year and then looking at this year's nominees things are literally exactly the same so
24:27we actually republished my story from last year and all of those statistics because nothing has changed so one of
24:33the things I think is interesting is we're focusing a lot on me too and times up this year but
24:37we're all of a sudden forgetting about Oscar so white and I think we can talk about all
24:40things we need more women we need more brown people period that's it. Preach Ari I mean I think that
24:45absolutely sums it up it's like you they don't have to you don't have to just focus on one cause
24:49because that is a problem you know the fact that there is no more diversity than last year. Coco was
24:54my favorite movie of all time so I hope it takes home. Speaking of another favorite movie that I loved
25:00that didn't get any love this year was The Florida Project out of all of the movies that I've seen
25:04nominated it was one of my absolute favorites what did you guys think of it? Yeah. I liked Florida Project.
25:10I liked it. I liked it.
25:10This was my favorite movie. I agree that I thought it should have gotten more love but I wasn't like
25:16blown away by this movie. I think it was very independent film vibe. Yeah. I did like the social commentary
25:21I did like what I talked about poverty and thought the acting was incredible but you know is it going
25:27to knock out Get Out or Shape of Water? I don't think so. I do have to say I just
25:31thought it was so beautifully done. Willem Dafoe is actually nominated for best actor and so he was the only
25:36one from his cast though but the other cast we have little Brooklyn Prince who's the most adorable little girl.
25:40She is so cute.
25:40She's really cute. And then alongside Bria Venate who's a newcomer and she's actually typecasted for this role so she's
25:46her first ever acting job was this movie. So I just thought the whole movie everything was so good it
25:51was like very documentary reality style and I just really liked it I thought very beautifully done so that's another
25:55one that I think should have gotten a little more love. Fair enough. My unpopular opinion is about Lady Bird.
26:00I know that everyone really loved this movie and I liked Lady Bird. I thought that it was it was
26:04like you know everyone can see a little bit of themselves and their mothers in this movie but all of
26:09the love that Lady Bird got this
26:10year I thought it was a little bit overhyped like the direction was not the greatest I love that it
26:14was a woman director love that it was mostly female cast that's great but I just like all the hype
26:19was like a little bit extra for this movie because I I don't know like also like the storyline between
26:24her and her mom like I wasn't allowed to talk to my mom like that and like just a lot
26:27of the different things like I like was like this is a cute movie but I wasn't like oh my
26:31god like this is me which a lot of people were. I think it just came at a really good
26:35time. For sure. During Time's Up and Me Too and it was it's a good moment for a female director
26:41do I agree with you do I think it was the best directing ever? No I think like Get Out
26:44had some of the best directing I've seen. For sure. That being said I thought it was a good feel
26:48good movie but to be honest with you like it hasn't drawn me back I haven't like want to go
26:52see it again. Yeah. Call Me By Your Name on the other hand like get me to the theater now.
26:56That's what's funny is we were talking about this the other day is when I think about Lady Bird I
26:59do have fuzzy feelings like I love it but I can't really remember exactly what happened. Yeah you don't know
27:03what happened in this movie actually. But you know what I think is so special is what I was going
27:07to say is the cast and I think you can tell they have a very special relationship and that kind
27:10of
27:10kind of showed on screen so I think people were more drawn to like the very specific characters. Yeah and
27:13Shoirse Ronan is like the best. Exactly. One interesting thing about Lady Bird too is that there is a movie
27:19with America Ferreira that came out in 2000 called Real Women Have Curves. Love this movie. And there was a
27:23writer who actually pointed out that there's a lot of similarities between that movie and Lady Bird and it's not
27:28exactly the same plot and maybe this is another Shape of Water situation but it's really interesting that Greta Gerwig
27:33never really acknowledged any inspiration from that movie and there was never really talks about how this Latino movie came
27:39out a long time ago
27:40and it was actually kind of like a catalyst for a movie like Lady Bird and no one really ever
27:44was talking about it. And it's also weird that she never even acknowledged it once a writer pointed it out.
27:49For sure. Getchy. Alright. But guys you know what? We're talking about all of these great Oscar nominations and I
27:55think it's time to quiz you guys on your Oscar knowledge. Uh oh. So it is game time baby. I
28:00know where I was already going to beat me at this. I didn't know that we're going to be taking
28:03shots and I'm going to be drunk and like this is how it's going to go. So the game is
28:06called Hot Shot Lucky Number 7 Edition and we have our lovely assistant
28:10Ali who's going to bring in a couple of our Hot Shots. So it's funny with the Oscars. Oh god.
28:15Oh my god. What's happening? So with the Oscars historically they kind of follow a pattern which is really interesting
28:22doing some research about it. They all go in years of seven are a lot of the really great movies.
28:26So 1987, 1997. Are we doing math here? 2007, 2017 have just had a lot of really good nominations. Oh
28:33sorry. So we're continuing our lucky number seven streak today. So I have ten questions. Five for each of you.
28:38Okay. You have seven
28:39seconds to answer on your own and Ali will actually be keeping track of time. So if you don't know
28:44the answer you can have two FaceTime of friends. You guys have your friends selected. Yes we do. Okay. And
28:49so if you don't know you can have two FaceTime of friends. So I have seven seconds. Do I say
28:52within the seven seconds if I want to phone a friend? Yes. You have seven seconds to answer and or
28:56decide you want to phone a friend. Okay. Got it. All right. So then if neither of you or you
29:01or your friend know the question or if you don't know the question you have to take a hot shot.
29:06Now this isn't what you think. Oh god. It's a mix of everything.
29:09So it can be. Some are alcoholic. Some are not. Some are different. It smells like alcohol. Okay. Some are
29:15not. I'm going to win. So it's fine. Okay. So and Ali will be keeping track of the score too.
29:22So are you guys ready? No. But it's fine. All right. Here we go. It's barely. It's not even 1
29:26p.m. yet. Not even 1 p.m. Get in turn on Friday. Okay. So first question is for Ariana.
29:33Oh god. Good luck girl. This classic. Oh get ready sir.
29:36This classic movie won best picture in 1977 starring Woody Allen and Diane Keaton. Oh um um um um oh
29:45my god. You have four seconds. Andy Hall. Yes. Woo. Wait I was getting nervous. Woo. I literally was like
29:51New York and something. Woo. I'm taking a champagne for that one. A point for Ari. I'm so bad at
29:58the games.
29:59Sari. This film won best picture in 2007 and it involves a messy web of mobsters, the police department, and
30:06the criminal justice system starring Leo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, and Jack Nicholson.
30:11The Departed. Yay. Woo. She whispered that The Departed. I like how scared she did. It was The Departed.
30:20Because you were going to have to take a shot if it wasn't right. All right. If I didn't make
30:23this game hard enough I'm going to be upset. All right.
30:25I might leave off a couple clues here in the next few. All right. All right. While 2007 wasn't quite
30:31as good as the
30:32other years, it still left us with a few crowd favorites. One of which involves Seth Rogen and the
30:37series of events that happened after a one night stand? Um. Uh. Uh. Phone a friend. Phone a friend.
30:44Woo. She's phoned a friend. I don't know Seth Rogen movies. That's like how we can spot. Oh. I know
30:48the answer. You guys are getting it. Okay. I'm going to phone my friend Alayna. Great. She is like
30:52entertainment, pop culture star, sitting upstairs. Alayna. Is that you? So we are calling Alayna right now. I don't want
30:57to take a shot. Help. Alayna will know. I feel like. She's a youth. She knows your name. Yay. Alayna.
31:04Wow. Okay. Alayna. Help. I don't want to take a shot. Please help me. All right. Alayna. Are you ready
31:09for this question?
31:10While 2007 wasn't quite as good as the other years, it still lets us with a few crowd favorites. One
31:17of which
31:17involves Seth Rogen and the series of events that happened after a one night stand. You have seven
31:22seconds. Knocked off. Yeah. That was so easy. That was easy. Thanks, Alayna. Thanks, girl. Alayna coming through. There are
31:31some
31:31shots here that I would have had to take if you didn't help me out. So I appreciate you. Perfect.
31:35Thanks, Alayna. We might call you back in a minute. Bye. All right. So question. I forgot Seth Rogen was
31:41in
31:41that movie. Right? I almost said Captain Hedges. She's a dead giveaway, I think. All right. On to the next.
31:45I'm ready. All right, Sari. In 1987, The Last Emperor took home. You remember that year? No. The Last Emperor
31:54took home the
31:55Best Picture Award, but another one of the nominees became a fan favorite. It centers around Michael Douglas,
31:59a happily married writer whose world turns upside down after a fling with Glenn Close.
32:04A Fatal Attraction. Okay. I made this too easy. I'm so mad. Oh, you didn't. I just know my stuff.
32:10Oh,
32:11okay. We're going. All right. Okay. Ari, The Shape of Water is the 10th film in Oscar history to earn
32:1913
32:19nominations. I picked this one for you. I know you love Shape of Water. The current record's 14. Can you
32:24name
32:24all three movies that hold the record? Oh. What the heck? Do I have a second? I know this. Okay,
32:31Titan is one of them. Good. Yep. Titanic. You got three seconds, baby. Oh, can I phone a friend again?
32:37Woo! I get two, right? I get two phone friends, right? She gets two. Elena! Elena, call her back.
32:43I can only remember Titanic right now. Shoot. I know the other two. I love this. This game is like
32:51jazzing me up too much. All right. Elena's got to help me out. Hey, girl, we're back.
32:58Okay. All right. The Shape of Water is the 10th film in Oscar history to earn 13 nominations.
33:03The current record is 14. Can you name all three movies that hold this record? I got one of them
33:07right, which is Titanic. I need the other two. You have seven seconds. Wait, three movies that have
33:1314 nominations? You better not be Googling. And one is Titanic. Gone with the Wind?
33:20Damn, Elena! No, Elena!
33:23Ari's taking a shot. Come on. That was a good guess, though. Thanks, Elena.
33:28All right, bye. I love you, honey. Okay, that was really hard. That was a hard one.
33:31Okay, you guys. I got you up easy, the other ones. What were the other two?
33:34La La Land. Oh. And All About Eve. Take your shot, Ari. I was not going to get that.
33:41Like, ooh. Are you sure? Okay. I'm going to take this one. This one looks like lemonade.
33:50Stop looking at me, everyone. Here we go. Hey! Oh, nice. A light, refreshing snack.
33:59All right, Sari. Yeah, I'm ready. 1997 was also a noodle a year for another movie that wasn't
34:05nominated for Best Picture, but many people believe it should have been. It tells the story of a young
34:09boy living in Brooklyn who lives for the weekends and signs up for a dance competition.
34:15Phone-a-front. Oh! Get Sojourner on the phone.
34:24Oh, I know this one, I think. Do you?
34:27Mm-hmm. Hey, Soj!
34:31Hello. Hey.
34:33Hey. Hey, guys.
34:33Okay, so Soj, for your help, Emily's about to say a question. If not, I have to take a shot.
34:37Are you down? Tell me. Oh, what is this about? Oh, my goodness.
34:42All right, here we go. 1997 was a no, oh, yes, was a notable year for another movie that wasn't
34:47nominated for Best Picture, but many people believe it should have been. It tells the story of a young
34:51boy living in Brooklyn who lives for the weekends and signs up for a dance competition. You have seven
34:55seconds. Seven seconds. Wait, can you repeat the question? A young boy. This movie tells the tale of a young
35:02boy living in Brooklyn who lives for the weekends and signs up for a dance competition.
35:07Lives for the weekends and signs up for a dance competition.
35:11For.
35:11It's all over the rest. Oh.
35:14Girl, Serena, prepare to take that shot.
35:15This girl's Saturday night fever?
35:17Dance!
35:18No!
35:18Did I get her wrong?
35:19No, that's. Did she get it?
35:20It did.
35:21It's Saturday Night Fever.
35:21It was a long day.
35:22What? No.
35:23No, Emily take a shot.
35:241997.
35:25It's not.
35:25It's not.
35:26It's not, it...
35:27It's not.
35:29It's 97.
35:30Yeah.
35:31I might have copied and placed that wrong.
35:33Emily's taking a shot.
35:34I got it right.
35:34Just said Saturday night fever.
35:36I did.
35:36I thought that, but then I was like, I must have.
35:39I was like, John Travolta, what?
35:40I know.
35:41Oh, my dear God.
35:43Well, you got it.
35:43Anyways, question number.
35:45No.
35:45No, you have to take it.
35:46Take the shot.
35:47Take the shot.
35:48I thought that was what it was, but then I was like, well, 97.
35:51Maybe I'm going.
35:52Okay.
35:52I copied and placed that wrong, obviously.
35:53Take a shot.
35:55Please, dear God, don't do this to me.
35:57I do this to myself.
35:59Yeah.
36:00What it tastes like.
36:01Oh, a ginger shot.
36:02Oh, a ginger shot.
36:04Chase it with champagne.
36:05That's what you get, girl.
36:06I said Saturday night fever.
36:07I did.
36:07At the last moment.
36:09I was like, that's not 97.
36:10Wow.
36:11I'm away.
36:12Okay.
36:13Ugh.
36:14This is what happens when the youths come up with these questions.
36:16This year also marked the release of one of Matt Damon's and Ben Affleck's earliest
36:22films.
36:22They wrote the script and starred in the movie about a young boy with genius capabilities.
36:26Oh, I know.
36:26Oh, my God.
36:27The movie with Robert Williams.
36:29What is that movie?
36:30Good Will Hunting.
36:31Dang.
36:32Yep.
36:33You're right.
36:34I'm making this right.
36:36She's like, yep, you're right.
36:37Okay.
36:37You're right.
36:38All right.
36:39Number eight, Sari.
36:40Although not nominated, this movie stole the hearts of the public with performances by Patrick
36:44Swayze and Jennifer Grey.
36:45Okay.
36:46Is this, um, Footloose?
36:49No.
36:51Shot, shot, shot.
36:52Go back.
36:53Call a friend, yo.
36:54Too late.
36:54You already gave your answer.
36:55Woo!
36:57All right.
36:58You're up, baby.
36:58And it's dirty dancing.
37:00Footloose?
37:00Really?
37:02Oh, I can't wait.
37:04That one.
37:05Okay.
37:05Which one?
37:06That one.
37:07All right.
37:08Ooh.
37:09Mistake.
37:09Water.
37:13I don't think that one's water.
37:15What was that?
37:17Vodka.
37:18That was vodka, guys.
37:19That was vodka.
37:20Straight murder.
37:21She was like, fuck.
37:22She was like, it was water.
37:23Oh.
37:24T-O-T-O-T-O.
37:26Am I pro of getting payback after this, by the way?
37:28Did you smell the vodka every second sale?
37:31Okay.
37:31Oh my gosh.
37:32It's gonna be okay.
37:33Okay.
37:34Okay.
37:35So, Ari.
37:38In 2018, I love this.
37:40All right.
37:41This year, we are in 2018.
37:43There are three actors that are repeat nominees from last year.
37:46Can you name all three?
37:48Oh, God.
37:49Um.
37:51Repeat actors from last year?
37:53Five seconds.
37:53Stop!
37:53This is too much pressure.
37:54Hold on.
37:55Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
37:56Two.
37:57One.
37:58Play the game, baby.
38:00Seven seconds is not long enough.
38:02By the time I thought any thoughts, what were the answers?
38:05Take your shot first and I'll tell you.
38:07I'll reward you later.
38:08I'm still dying from the shot.
38:11That ginger shot.
38:13Do it.
38:14Get the water.
38:15Did she get the water?
38:17Just kidding.
38:18It was H2O.
38:19Here we are hydrating her.
38:21I feel so refreshed.
38:22This game is gnarly.
38:23All right.
38:23The answers to that are Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep, and Octavia Spencer.
38:28Are we done?
38:29Last one, Sari.
38:33The best picture winner is still noted today as one of the best and most famous movies
38:37of all time.
38:38I'm only going to say this.
38:39Who could forget the scene with the hand in the foggy car?
38:43Excuse me?
38:45What?
38:46Come on, girl.
38:46I'm going to pose.
38:47No, don't.
38:48I'm trying to help her.
38:49She helped her.
38:49She took the shot.
38:51I don't want her to take the shot.
38:52She doesn't even know the answer.
38:53Come on.
38:54How old are you again?
38:5623.
38:58Can I give her a hint?
38:59No.
39:00Are you taking the shot, too?
39:01Yeah.
39:02I'm trying to help this poor girl.
39:03She took a whole shot of vodka.
39:07I'm sorry, but this game is hilarious.
39:09I really want...
39:10Oh, wait.
39:11Soj.
39:11You better get this one right, because I can't take the shot.
39:14Soj, I'm just going to get this.
39:15All right.
39:16Okay.
39:16This best picture winner is still noted today as one of the most best and most famous
39:20movies of all time.
39:21I'm only going to say this.
39:22Who could forget the scene with the hand in the foggy car?
39:26The hand in the where?
39:27Foggy.
39:28Foggy car.
39:30Foggy car?
39:31Seven seconds.
39:33I don't know.
39:34Serena, prepare to take that shot.
39:36Oh, my God!
39:38I just want to say, if I got this question...
39:40Can I say the answer?
39:41Can I say the answer?
39:42Can I say the answer?
39:42What's the answer?
39:44Never mind.
39:44I can't sing this song.
39:45I can't sing this song.
39:46Oh, right.
39:46Titanic!
39:49Oh, baby.
39:50All right, Sarah, you're up.
39:51Were you alive when that movie came out?
39:52For sure.
39:53For sure.
39:53Okay.
39:54Yo, Mia.
39:54I don't know.
39:55I can't...
39:55What is that?
39:57Unclear.
39:57Poor Serena.
39:59You don't remember the scene when they're in the back of the car and she's like...
40:04That looked like that was mixed with something.
40:05Yeah.
40:06What was that?
40:08Serena gets to go home magically.
40:09Serena's going to take a little pile after this.
40:12Wait, it was orange juice and tequila, so a nice mixture of things.
40:15Can I have a...
40:16Can I have some water?
40:18Can you do me?
40:19I do have to say that I am very impressed.
40:21I thought that was going to be a little tougher for you guys.
40:23So just ready, next game.
40:24It is going down.
40:26Thank you guys for playing.
40:27Oh, my gosh.
40:27All right.
40:27So now that that torture is over with, I am very excited because we've been talking
40:32about nominations, but we haven't talked fashion yet.
40:34So I found just the right girl to come talk to us about fashion.
40:37She just so happens to be my real life bestie, but she's also our fashion news writer.
40:42Woo!
40:43Welcome Channing Hargo.
40:44Channing!
40:46Woo!
40:46Welcome.
40:47You look ready for the Oscars already.
40:49You look so cute.
40:49You guys look ready for the Oscars with your Time's Up pin.
40:52Oh, thank you.
40:53Does Serena look a little different to you, a little tipsy perhaps from our game?
40:56I mean, girl, you're a champ.
40:58I don't know that I could have done that.
41:00So Channing, we are going to pour you a little drink too.
41:03Why, thank you.
41:04Tell us a little bit about what we're talking about all things fashion.
41:07So it's interesting, this award season, we really saw fashion move into like the front
41:12light as like a form of protest, like a real form of protest.
41:16Why?
41:17Strong.
41:17We're there.
41:18Well, did you just start our game?
41:20Cheers to fashion.
41:20We're not saying anything lately.
41:22Cheers to fashion.
41:23Get on our level, girl.
41:24Serena.
41:25Serena, okay.
41:28Serena's like, hey.
41:29So he's like, tell us.
41:30Go on.
41:31So, we watched our favorite celebrities like walk the red carpet and they didn't do it in their
41:37typical like fancy gowns.
41:38They like made a statement every single time they showed up at an award show.
41:41So, for the Golden Globes, everyone wore black to show solidarity with Time's Up and
41:47like to just bring awareness to the, I'm sorry.
41:50I'm sorry.
41:51I'm here.
41:52I'm here.
41:52The sexual assault allegations.
41:54Oh no, this is not funny.
41:55The sexual assault allegations.
41:58The sexual assault allegations.
41:58And then for the SAGs, they did not wear a particular color, but everyone like you ladies
42:02wore their Time's Up pins.
42:03At the Grammys, they wore their red roses.
42:05And so on Sunday at the Oscars, we don't think there's going to be any particular color,
42:10but we do think that the pins are going to be like a major focus point just to remind
42:14people to donate to the legal fund associated with Time's Up and to draw awareness to their
42:18cause.
42:19I don't know.
42:20Do you guys think that pins are enough?
42:21I've been going back and forth on this.
42:23Like I think pins is like, it's a little nice touch, but it's not as much of a statement
42:26as wearing all black.
42:27But you know what I will say is I love red carpet fashion.
42:30It's probably one of my favorite things about award shows.
42:32So I kind of do like the fact that you can still, you know, showcase designers and showcase,
42:37you know, your personal style, but still, you know, come together in unity.
42:41And I think being like, kind of like what we were talking about earlier, Channing, is
42:44being able to still have that platform to talk about things that matter, but again, still
42:46having one piece of your whole outfit represent something bigger.
42:49That being said, I feel like because they're wearing a pin, it maybe won't be as much of
42:54a topic of conversation compared to at the Golden Globes when everyone was in black.
43:00Right.
43:00That was what everyone was talking about.
43:01You had to make your point.
43:02And I love that too.
43:03You could still see people's self-expression, personal style, but it was really cool.
43:07Like how are they going to wear black?
43:08How are they going to take this theme?
43:10It's kind of like the Met Gala vibes, right?
43:12Like it's like doing that.
43:13And I don't know.
43:13I think that, I hope that it comes up as much on the carpet in conversation as it would if
43:18they were all wearing one color.
43:19But I do think it's possible to love fashion, love style, and still talk about things that
43:23are important, obviously.
43:24So I think that the emphasis needs to be on the celebrities and the people who are asking
43:28the questions to make sure just because I'm wearing this fabulous dress doesn't mean
43:31that I can't still talk about what's happening.
43:33And Ari, that brings us full circle to what we were talking about earlier with the way E!
43:36covers and choosing to still have Ryan Seacrest cover, which it's just a whole interesting
43:40conversation of how we are going to discuss it.
43:41I also think though it's so important to acknowledge the designers and the stylists
43:45who bring, it's a big night for them too.
43:47I don't think it's fair to just be like, oh, we're going to bypass this sort of industry
43:51to punish one person.
43:53Yeah, I agree.
43:54I totally agree with that.
43:54What do you think about when people say that wearing something, whether it be a pin
43:59or a color or a flower, isn't enough?
44:02Is not enough to do, it's just like kind of like a way, it's almost a passive thing to
44:06do in terms of continuing the movement.
44:09I see that argument and I do think there's some validity there, but I still think that
44:14fashion is a very strong form of protest.
44:16And even if it's just to draw awareness to what it is that your pin or whatever the color
44:20that you're wearing represents, that too is important.
44:23Yeah, I agree.
44:24And so Channing, just on a fun note, a lighter note, what trends do you think that we're
44:29going to see on this red carpet?
44:31Because Oscars is one of the biggest nights that we see in fashion.
44:33One of the biggest, and I think we're still going to see a lot of pantsuits, fashion as
44:37protest, mermaid dresses, and then the sheer like Beyonce gowns.
44:40Everyone still loves to wear those.
44:42It will be interesting to see, however, if anyone wears Marquesa.
44:45This is a brand that Harvey Weinstein co-owned with his wife, Georgina Chapman.
44:49And a lot of times he would dress leading ladies of his films in this gown, like in Marquesa.
44:53And so we saw it a lot on the red carpet.
44:56And there's been rumors that he bullied specific people.
44:59Jessica Chastain has come out and said that he's strong on care a few times.
45:02Kerry Washington also.
45:03So it'll be interesting to see if anyone feels solidarity with Georgina for kind of being
45:08punished for his actions.
45:10But then again, maybe are we just all taking a step back?
45:12Which I was shocked to hear that.
45:13I didn't realize, like, because you always just heard of people wearing Marquesa on the
45:17red carpet.
45:18But I never would have put the two and two together.
45:20Oh, yeah.
45:21And I'm not shocked.
45:22I mean, it sucks.
45:23But like, with all the things that he's done with his power and abusive power, I'm sure he
45:27was like, wear my wife's gown.
45:28Like, you're doing that.
45:29I got you this movie.
45:30Agreed.
45:30That doesn't surprise me at all.
45:32But I don't know if I feel bad for Georgina.
45:33Right.
45:34In some ways I do, but it also makes me wonder, like, did we even like, was Marquesa even
45:38a great brand before this?
45:40Like, would it have been or become what it was without Harvey Weinstein?
45:43No.
45:43Probably not.
45:44Probably not.
45:44She got it funded by him.
45:45Exactly.
45:45And then again, that takes away from every other designer who has worked to be in that
45:48place, who wanted to be represented, but instead it was, again, an abusive power.
45:52Exactly.
45:52Definitely, like, a weird construct.
45:54Like, it's complicated, right?
45:55Because on one hand, like, I want to support her as a woman.
45:57Right.
45:58And as a designer, she is talented, but then it's like, well, is she who she is because
46:02of him?
46:03Right.
46:04Yeah, and you never want to put the blame on the woman or the wife for the man's actions,
46:07because we don't know what her involvement was, what she did or didn't know.
46:10Right.
46:10And really, he has to take ownership for what he did, but at the same time, that's kind
46:14of like blood money that was funding her.
46:16Yeah, so it's a little, it's definitely very complicated.
46:18Yeah, it really is.
46:20Anyway, thank you so much, Channing, for having me.
46:23Thank you for having me.
46:26Cheers.
46:26Can't wait to see all of your fashion coverage.
46:28Thanks.
46:28It's going to be so great.
46:29Sabrina.
46:30Chin up.
46:34Okay.
46:35Guys, so we are talking all about fashion, but one thing we're going to talk about, too,
46:39is all of the amazing new movies coming out in 2018.
46:43Can't wait.
46:43So, let's take a look at the movies to watch out for at the...
46:48Emily had a shot as well, so...
46:49We should start drinking.
46:50A ginger shot.
46:50I'm putting that down, and I'm going to say, check out this package for all of the new
46:54movies coming out in 2018 that might make an appearance at next year's Oscars.
46:572018.
46:58With the Oscars just a couple of days away, we're all channeling our inner movie critic.
47:02From sci-fi to mystery, sequels and remakes, 2018 is bringing it.
47:07Let's have some fun.
47:11Let's jump right in with a favorite that is sure to clean up at next year's Oscars.
47:15Black Panther.
47:17We'll be live, live, live.
47:18The blockbuster is expected to be number one at the box office for the third weekend in a row,
47:23bringing global ticket sales to over $800 million.
47:34Based on the 1962 novel, A Wrinkle in Time packs a powerhouse of female leads,
47:39including Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Gugu Mbathara, Storm Reid, and, of course, Oprah.
47:48We've sent in drones and teams of people, but nothing comes back.
47:52But something has.
47:54Natalie Portman is back in her first big thriller since Black Swan.
47:57In Annihilation, she plays a biologist who goes on an expedition into a disaster zone after her husband goes missing.
48:04You need to know what's inside.
48:06If she's compromised, she will be eliminated.
48:10What have you done?
48:13Jennifer Lawrence is also keeping us on our toes with the newly released Red Sparrow.
48:17And Claire Foy is flat out fierce in her first role since The Crown, playing a woman on the verge
48:22of a nervous breakdown in Unsane.
48:24I am being held here against my will.
48:27For a lighter mystery, check out Game Night, starring Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams.
48:32Is this gun real?
48:33Oh, oh, no, Annie!
48:34Oh, no, no!
48:36Hey, hey!
48:37Ah!
48:41Blood!
48:42But 2018 may go down as the year of the sequel, with over 15 films showcasing their continuations.
48:52Your time's up, dumbass.
48:54Well, that's just lazy writing.
48:57Whatever the genre, one thing's for sure, my MoviePass will be putting in a lot of work this year.
49:04Alright guys, it has been such a fun episode.
49:07And I don't know about y'all, but I am so excited.
49:10Make sure you tune in to the Oscars on Sunday on ABC at 6.30.
49:14And we'll see you next time!
49:15I think Serena needs to watch Titanic.
49:17Bye!
49:18Bye guys!
