00:11Hi, I'm Sue from Refinery29.
00:13Today I'm going to show you how to make a super chic pair of Bottega Veneta inspired
00:16painted pumps.
00:17Let's get started.
00:19Here's what you'll need.
00:20Black shoe polish.
00:23Tape for the inside of the shoes.
00:25And finally, a pair of plain white pumps.
00:27We found ours on the sale rack at Aldo.
00:30First, take your tape and place it on the inside of the shoe so you don't get polish all over
00:34the place.
00:39After your shoes are all taped up, it's time to start painting.
00:42The Bottega version isn't exactly precise or perfect, so you can basically just get started
00:48anywhere around the outside of the shoe.
00:50At first, it's going to be a light gray color like this, but if you keep going over it,
00:54it should be a nice black color with lots of different dimensions.
00:58The Bottega version is really painterly, so make sure you go over it with really uneven
01:02strokes.
01:03Don't be shy about it.
01:04More is more.
01:06After you've done your first coat, wait for it to dry while you do the other side.
01:10Get started painting on the second shoe while you're waiting for the first to dry.
01:13It's going to take a few coats to get it perfect.
01:23As you're applying the different coats, make sure to leave a little bit from the layer before.
01:31Gives it a more hand-painted look.
01:32The great thing about these foam applicators is you get a lot of really cool texture.
01:37Don't be afraid of the little bubbles and paint marks.
01:40They're supposed to look like that.
01:43After your paint's dried, remove the tape to reveal your beautiful new DIY Bottega-inspired
01:49painted pumps.
01:50Any water samples?
02:02There are 100 worthñas.
