00:15Afternoon Michael, can you just explain how your week has been since the game on Sunday
00:22because your future has been under a lot of speculation, a lot of doubt as well
00:28but for you, what have the last few days been like?
00:32To be honest, disappointment from the game, the result, initial disappointment, that's pretty clear
00:38the way the game went and the result, dealing with that is the main thing
00:45what could we have done better, what could we improve on, what can we make the difference with
00:51and then focusing on getting back to training with the players and preparing for the next game for Chelsea
00:58in a big week ahead really, that's been my main focus, how can we make the difference?
01:03And again respectfully Michael, but have you spoken to the hierarchy of the club around your future
01:09or have you been given any assurances of what the next few weeks do look like up until the international
01:14break?
01:14I don't need any assurances from anyone, I totally get the position, I understand the job, I understand the responsibilities
01:21I understand what comes with that so I really don't need any assurances from anyone in that regard
01:30Michael, there has been so much noise and you've said before it doesn't affect you
01:37but it's impossible whether it be your former team mates, former players, players of other clubs
01:44the noise around Manchester United is immense, how do you deal with that, how do your players deal with it
01:51how do your family members deal with that?
01:55I don't see it really, I see the things that I need to see, I don't look for it, it
02:02doesn't really help in any way
02:04so I've said it before, I care about what the supporters think, I care about what it feels like in
02:09the stadium
02:09and them travelling for games to us to come and see us and support us, I care about what we
02:14give them
02:14and what we offer them and what they see, I genuinely don't take any notice of anything else
02:21I know this job, I know what it brings, I know what we need to do really to be better,
02:27I don't need anyone else to tell me anything else
02:29Can you just tell us about the situation with Bruno Fernandes, you said it was a football decision to leave
02:36him out
02:36but clearly it's a big decision to leave your captain out, what is the position coming into today's game for
02:43Bruno?
02:44Yeah it was a decision as I said for what we felt for the game, that's it, that's it you
02:51know
02:52Bruno's fully committed to this football club and there are absolutely no issues with that, you know
02:57we move forward, we make decisions as we go and we're looking forward to the game on Saturday now
03:04Just looking, kind of following on in front of Bruno, how have the conversations with the players been this week?
03:10Because as much as you, I'm not dealing with the outside noise, you've seen the performances
03:15and we heard you speak after Kermann in particular about how frustrating that display was
03:20so what's their reaction been and how have those conversations been?
03:22Of course that's my responsibility as the players you know, the outside is not anything for me to focus on
03:29I know what we can affect, I know what we need to improve
03:33I know as a group, leading a group what help they need a little bit as well
03:39and a bit of guidance at certain times and dealing with certain things
03:43so that's part of my direct role is them, you know, who I care about and can affect the most
03:49directly
03:50and of course we spoke, you know, we have meetings as we do every single week
03:55but some of the meetings go in different ways depending on results in the situation and the feeling
04:02I have to say the boys are hungry, you know, we're hurting because we haven't won enough football games
04:08but there's an intensity, there's a bit of an edge, there's a disappointment, there's a hunger to do better for
04:16sure
04:19What's the injury situation? Because you've been dealing with a lot of absentees and kind of emerge outside of Ben
04:24I think Tesco might be out for the new year, is that correct?
04:28Yeah, unfortunately Ben looks like he's going to be out for a period of time
04:32we're still not clear of exactly how long but it's going to be for a longer period of time
04:37it was the process and as I said to you before, you know, we had to go through the process
04:42it was a bit of a healing process for the injury to see how it would react and what direction
04:47to go with that
04:47so even now we're still working through it but yeah, it's unfortunately obviously first and foremost for Ben
04:55for the kind of period that he's had and try to get through it and going through this again
05:01and for us to not have him available is obviously a blow but we try and get back as quick
05:08as we can
05:09Any good news for Chelsea on the injury, Ben?
05:11Good news, Cobby has done a little bit of training yesterday so he's backing around the group
05:18so that's obviously a positive
05:20Game Ian and then Mark
05:26Michael, are you surprised you're still here this week?
05:31No, no, I'm here to do my job, you know, I'm here to do the best for the team and
05:38I'm desperate to make us better and improve things so I'm not surprised now
05:42Do you know how it works? The results have been bad, you've been fifth from the bottom of the Premier
05:46League and the players have...
05:48Many people have said they've let you down but ultimately the manager's always won't pay the price
05:51so when you left that pitch on Sunday did you actually expect that you'd be charged with Chelsea again?
05:55No, I said it after the game, I didn't expect anything, I was literally dealing with the performance, the result,
06:01what it was
06:01Obviously there's no hiding from the fact that the dynamics in the atmosphere in the stadium was a little bit
06:07different to normal
06:08and going through that and digesting that that I mentioned to you guys after the game and it was purely
06:17my mind was, you know, what do we need to do to improve things?
06:21Just on Bruno, if he's back in the scene, is he the captain or have you got a decision to
06:24make because Harry was captain?
06:26Say again, sorry?
06:27Captain, is it going to be Harry long term or is it going to be Bruno?
06:30No, there's no decision to be made on that
