Duke says "it's fine" a lot. Nine or ten times. Every single time, there's a small pause first — half a second, no more.

That pause is the whole character. He's not lying. He's deciding not to say the true thing, and the decision takes a moment.

Watch for it in episode four, at the dinner table. He does it twice in one scene, and the second one is longer.

By the end he stops saying it at all, and that's the loudest version.

✨ What worked for me:
- The actor never changes expression. Only the timing.
- No close-up during the pause. You have to be watching.

✨ Bottom line: a pause is where a character decides what to withhold.
