00:02I just wanted to see a shooting star, not be become one!
00:07If I die, I swear I'm haunting that fish!
00:10Okay, either I'm dead or my edible's finally cooked in.
00:15Great, another stray the whale dragged in.
00:17Why is the ground glowing? Why is it pulling me?
00:29Your heart is beating at the same time as mine. That's creepy.
00:32The whale thinks we're soulmates. It won't stop until we kiss every damn time.
00:41How do I get down from a flying whale?
00:43You can't leave. It took me three years to figure that out.
00:47Hold on! She's going through Aurora territory!
00:52Not again!
00:57What the hell is happening to my skin?
01:03This never happened with the others.
01:05What are you?
01:08That thing just got closer.
01:13It burns! Like something's alive under my skin!
01:21The whale's healing you. She only does that for people she chooses.
01:26I've been up here three years. The whale never healed anyone. Not once.
01:32A waterfall made of clouds? This is insane!
01:36Ah, damn. She loves waterfalls. Here it comes.
01:43You could at least warn me before.
01:48You didn't push me away this time.
01:55What's the fox trying to say?
01:57That vortex eats starlight and we're made of starlight up here.
02:01There were others before me. What happened to them?
02:04Five people. The whale brought five before you. All gone.
02:09I had the same red marks. Like what just happened to me?
02:13You're different. Your marks synced with mine. That never happened. I won't let that thing take you.
02:21What the hell is that?
02:26I'm connected to the whale. When she bleeds light, I feel it.
02:33Did my arm just do that?
02:35Your heartbeat. It's pushing the darkness back.
02:38Keep touching me.
02:41Run! That thing's carpet bombing the whole whale!
02:46The stream! It's whale blood! Dark things can't cross it!
02:51Every time I use this power, the marks spread. What happens when they cover my whole body?
02:55Full marks means you either become a star navigator like me, or you shatter into starlight.
03:0050-50.
03:02The barrier's cracking! We can't just hide here!
03:05Not losing another person on this whale! Not her!
03:11It's draining me!
03:18Did you almost say my man?
03:20I...
03:22I...
03:22This whale has the worst timing.
03:29It worked.
03:31But the marks went past my shoulder. They're on my chest now.
03:34Every kiss makes you stronger.
03:37Every kiss also brings you closer to shattering.
03:40And I can't stop wanting to kiss you.
03:43It's gaining on us! That thing's three times bigger!
03:46Moon Island. Dark things can't touch moonlight.
03:48We'll be safe. For now.
03:51The ground feels like walking on a cloud!
03:53No! Better than a cloud!
03:55There's a memory inside the star?
03:58That's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen!
04:02Not all stars carry good memories. Some are traps.
04:07Then let's only catch the pretty ones. Come on, race you to the trees!
04:12Someone kissed in Paris and the memory became a star. Humans waste their best moments.
04:22Briar! That's a memory trap! Don't look into it!
04:25I'm not good enough. Never good enough.
04:33Physical force can't break it. Think! Think! Her heartbeat! I need to sync with her!
04:42Briar, listen to me. Your heart is stronger than any memory. Beat with mine.
04:49I hear you. I hear you. I hear your heartbeat.
04:52I got you. I'll always catch you.
04:59The island is breaking apart!
05:05Nico! There's a woman inside that monster!
05:10I've been waiting in the dark for three years.
05:14Sienna? You were dead. The Vortex took you. I saw it.
05:18Dead? Honey, the Vortex didn't kill me. It upgraded me. I'm the Queen of the Dark now.
05:25She has the marks?
05:27Oh, this is hilarious. Nico, you found another one.
05:31Let her go, Sienna!
05:36He didn't tell you, did he? I was the last girl the whale chose. His first kiss up here was
05:43mine.
05:43Your first? Is she telling the truth?
05:49Aw, trust issues already? You two won't last. Come home, Nico. The dark is way more fun.
05:56I'm not going back, and you're not taking her.
05:59Your body remembers me, Nico. Every scar I left still answers to my touch.
06:05Don't you dare touch him!
06:09Oh, you actually hurt me. Nobody's done that since the Vortex.
06:20No more cute Aurora tricks. I'm ending this.
06:25The bunny! Nico, the animals!
06:31Your marks! They're turning gold! That's never happened to anybody!
06:35I can't control it! It's burning me from inside!
06:39Match my breathing.
06:40In.
06:42Out.
06:43Let me anchor you.
06:47Your marks turned gold.
06:49That means you're not as you're not a passenger anymore.
06:51You're becoming part of the sky.
06:53Hit me. Harder.
06:54Your heart's too gentle.
06:56Make it angry.
07:01Oh, my God. Are you okay? I didn't mean to.
07:04Nobody's ever hit me that hard. I think I like you.
07:09What happened to these stars? They look dead.
07:13The whale feeds on dying starlight.
07:15This graveyard is her kitchen.
07:19She just ate and now she's in the mood? Read the room, whale!
07:24You just brought a dead star back to life! What the hell are you, Briar?
07:31I didn't mean to do all of them.
07:33I didn't mean to do all of them. How do I stop?
07:34The light woke them up. An entire swarm. We need to move. Now!
07:39Together this time.
07:41You fight, I blast. The whale runs.
07:47There's a city inside the vortex? Who lives in there?
07:51We're surrounded. Hundreds of them. The whale can't outrun a swarm.
07:56Relax. I called them off. I just want to talk.
07:59That's home. The city of fallen stars.
08:02Built by every star navigator who chose the dark over loneliness.
08:06Three years alone on a whale, Nico.
08:08I did ten. Imagine ten years with nobody to talk to except glowing animals.
08:13Don't listen to her. She chose the dark. That's not your story.
08:16We need the whale's heart. It's the core of the entire sky ocean.
08:20Give it to us and you can both go home.
08:23Over my dead body. This whale saved my life. I'm not selling her heart.
08:30I gave you a chance. Nobody takes the easy way.
08:34They hit near the heart. I can feel it dying.
08:38Get your filthy tentacle out of my man!
08:42The marks! They're spreading too fast! I can't!
08:47I don't care if it burns. I'm not letting you shatter.
08:52A golden shield. So the prophecy was real.
08:57Briar, your eyelids. The marks are on your face now. You're changing.
09:02And I don't know into what.
09:04Wake up! Wake up!
09:06Her heartbeat's slowing down. Don't do this to me, Briar!
09:13She's inside the whale's dream? Her mind got pulled into the whale?
09:16I'm coming in after you.
09:17If your heart stops in the dream, mine stops too.
09:21This is the whale's mind.
09:23A million memories floating in the dark.
09:28The vortex took her mate. That's why she's heading towards it.
09:31She's looking for him.
09:32Briar, I can see you. Don't go deeper into the dream.
09:36You've been alone so long.
09:38You've been searching for your mate all this time?
09:41The dream's collapsing.
09:43If she's too deep, she'll never wake up.
09:45Briar!
09:46He came in after me.
09:47That idiot jumped into a whale's brain for me.
09:50Match me, Briar.
09:51One heartbeat. Break through.
10:02I'm back.
10:03And the whale.
10:04She's singing.
10:05She's never been this bright.
10:09That sound.
10:10It's the other whale.
10:11Briar.
10:12The one the vortex took.
10:13It's still alive in there.
10:15You fight for a whale that trapped you?
10:18She hurt her mate!
10:19Nothing's gonna stop her!
10:20Hold on!
10:23I warned you, Nico.
10:25The whale comes to us.
10:26Or nobody gets through.
10:29Last time we kissed, we lit up a dead star.
10:32Let's see what we do to a wall.
10:38We have wings?
10:39Okay, that's new.
10:41Cut faster!
10:42They're healing it!
10:42Briar!
10:43They're a bigger blast!
10:46You fight for a whale that trapped you?
10:49Stock out syndrome much?
10:50Come on!
10:51Come on!
10:52Break, you stupid wall!
10:58I told you.
10:59Not alone.
11:01Together.
11:04There are people living in here?
11:06Dozens of them!
11:09The other whale is down there.
11:11But it sounds like it's in pain.
11:12They've been torturing it.
11:13We came this far on a flying whale.
11:15We're not stopping now.
11:21Oh god.
11:22That's not just any whale in there.
11:24It's her mate!
11:26And they turned him into a weapon!
11:28I told you!
11:30I told you!
11:30The city's collapsing!
11:32She won't fight back!
11:34She loves him!
11:35Even like this!
11:38The whale won't defend herself!
11:40We have to be her shield!
11:42Come on, you big dark jerk!
11:44She's your mate!
11:45Remember her?
11:46She's transferring her own light to him!
11:49She'll die if she gives too much!
11:51The whale's dying!
11:53And so are we!
11:54Nico, we need to help her transfer faster!
11:56All our light!
11:58Everything we've got!
11:59Pour it in!
12:00It's working!
12:01Don't stop!
12:07He's beautiful!
12:09They found each other.
12:11After all this time.
12:14I told you!
12:15The city's collapsing!
12:17My people, they'll all be crushed!
12:20Both whales together!
12:22They're blasting the vortex open!
12:27There's something else in there.
12:29A black heart!
12:31The vortex isn't the enemy!
12:32That thing is!
12:34That heart's fighting back!
12:36It's reinfecting everyone!
12:38Don't look at me!
12:39These marks!
12:40I burned them out years ago!
12:42They're not supposed to come back!
12:44You still have your marks, Sienna.
12:47Sienna, the sky never gave up on you.
12:50Even when you gave up on it.
12:52That heart's fighting back!
12:53It's reinfecting everyone!
12:55We have to destroy it now!
12:58The storm around the heart!
13:00It'll shred anything that gets close!
13:03I lived in the dark for ten years.
13:06Might as well die opening a door to the light!
13:12Sienna!
13:12You're fading!
13:13Stop!
13:14Tell the whale I'm sorry I took so long to come on.
13:17She gave us the path.
13:19We can't waste it.
13:20Let's kill this thing.
13:22There's light!
13:24Trapped inside the heart!
13:25The darkness isn't natural!
13:28It's a cage!
13:29It's like me!
13:30Light trapped in dark!
13:33I just need to crack it open!
13:35Every heartbeat!
13:36Push!
13:38Let there be light!
13:42They're changing back!
13:44Everyone!
13:45The darkness is gone!
13:50The core went into me?
13:52Nico!
13:53What does this mean?
13:55I'm flying!
13:57Like actually flying!
13:58Not falling off a whale!
13:59This is insane!
14:00She's beautiful!
14:01And she's becoming something I might not be able to hold on to.
14:07Okay.
14:08At this point, I think the whale just likes watching us kiss.
14:13Promise me something.
14:15Whatever I become,
14:17you won't let go of my hand.
14:20I promise.
14:22Even if you turn into a star,
14:24I'll climb the sky to find you.
14:28They're singing to each other.
14:30The same song from before the vortex.
14:32Nico!
14:33My fingers!
14:35I can see through them!
14:37I'm turning into starlight!
14:39No, no, no.
14:40Your hand!
14:41I can't even hold it anymore!
14:43Synced heartbeat slow it down?
14:45Then we just need to never stop being in sync!
14:48Listen to me.
14:49My heart.
14:50Your heart.
14:52Same beat.
14:54I'll keep you solid.
14:56Briar, look!
14:57The star navigators!
14:58They're flying again!
15:00If I have to sync my heartbeat with yours every second to keep you here, I will.
15:04The core is talking to me.
15:06It says,
15:07There are three more like it,
15:09scattered across the sky.
15:11Lightning the size of skyscrapers.
15:13And the core is right in the middle of it.
15:15Of course it is.
15:18In and out.
15:19We grab the core and we run.
15:20No sightseeing.
15:24Zigzag!
15:24Zigzag!
15:25Left!
15:25Right!
15:25Right!
15:26Oh god, right!
15:28Ow!
15:29The shield's down!
15:31Grab on or do something!
15:33I got you.
15:34Wow, I actually caught you for once.
15:37There it is.
15:38Locked inside a cage of lightning.
15:41Because nothing's ever easy.
15:42A lightning dragon?
15:44Guarding the core?
15:45Come on!
15:49Attacks go through it?
15:51How do you fight lightning?
15:53If you can't hit lightning,
15:55you redirect it.
15:57Briar, grab the core when it turns to me.
16:01Two cores resonating.
16:04The power, it's too much.
16:07I've got you.
16:08Breathe with me.
16:09Don't disappear, Briar.
16:10Stay with me.
16:12Nico, the third core.
16:15If I absorb it, I might not come back as human.
16:20If the world ends tomorrow, I want you covered in stars tonight.
16:25Down!
16:26The third core is on the ground!
16:28Where I came from!
16:30L.A.
16:32That's my city.
16:33I can see my apartment building from here.
16:35Humans can see us now?
16:37The whale's never flown this low.
16:38That's my rooftop, where this whole crazy thing started.
16:41Real ground.
16:43I forgot how it feels.
16:44Cold.
16:45Hard.
16:46No starlight.
16:49That's a core guardian.
16:50A dark one.
16:51They only appear when someone tries to take a core.
16:54It just punched the whale into orbit!
16:56Now it's looking at us!
17:00You broke his sword.
17:02You made him bleed.
17:04Now you've really pissed me off!
17:07That's for hurting him!
17:10Six arms?
17:11Seriously?
17:12That's just showing off.
17:15Broken sword?
17:16I'll make a better one.
17:17I'm not done fighting for her.
17:19I see its core.
17:20Right in the chest.
17:21Same spot where a heart should be.
17:23Okay.
17:24He's angry, angry.
17:25New plan?
17:26The whales are pinning it!
17:27Briar, now!
17:28Go for the chest!
17:30Almost!
17:31Just a little closer!
17:33No face.
17:34Just darkness.
17:35You're not a person.
17:36You're nothing!
17:39You threw away your only weapon to save me!
17:41You idiot!
17:42Idiots who love you tend to do stupid things.
17:46Round two.
17:47This time I'm not stopping.
17:53Briar!
17:53You're floating!
17:54You can't!
17:55Come back down!
17:56Grab my hand!
17:58Nico!
17:59I can't stop it!
18:00The cores are pulling me up!
18:01I'm becoming the sky!
18:02I'm not losing you!
18:03Not to the sky!
18:04Not to anything!
18:05Faster!
18:06She's accelerating!
18:07We're losing her!
18:08Give the whale my heart,
18:09and I can never go home,
18:10but I can reach her.
18:11Take my heart.
18:12I'm hers.
18:13Doesn't matter if I'm human or starlight.
18:16Briar!
18:17I'm coming!
18:18Don't you dare become a star without me!
18:21Nico, what did you do?
18:22Your eyes?
18:23You're not human anymore!
18:25Gave the whale my heart so I could hold your hand.
18:27Cores won't stop pulling!
18:29If we go past the atmosphere,
18:30we might never come back!
18:31My heart's in the whale now,
18:33but it still beats for you.
18:34Sink with me.
18:35Through the whale.
18:36Half human,
18:37half starlight.
18:38Stuck between Earth and sky.
18:39Home.
18:40This weird,
18:41magical,
18:42impossible whale back.
18:43It's home now.
18:44The last core.
18:45It's not in the sky.
18:46It's beyond the sky.
18:48In actual space.
18:50The atmosphere's burning their light off!
18:52We need to shield them now!
18:54I've got the big guy!
18:55You take ours!
18:56Push through!
18:56We're almost out!
18:57It's so quiet.
18:58No wind.
18:59No sound.
19:00Just us and the stars.
19:03That star.
19:04The last core is inside a star.
19:05Because of course it is.
19:06Room for one more?
19:07I spent ten years in the dark.
19:09I want to see a star up close.
19:10Welcome back to the light, navigator.
19:12A ring of darkness around the star.
19:14And something's moving inside it.
19:15That's not a corrupted whale.
19:17That's a born dark whale.
19:18They exist in the space between stars.
19:20It's weaponizing silence.
19:22Our whales can't sing in that zone.
19:23No song means no aurora.
19:26Okay, it's way stronger than anything in the vortex.
19:29This is a god-level whale.
19:30If it swallows them, the sky-ocean loses its guardians.
19:33The whole sky dies.
19:35Through it!
19:36Not around it!
19:38Through!
19:39The star.
19:39The whole star isn't inside the whale!
19:42It ate the core and the star!
19:44She's inside that thing!
19:45I need to get her out!
19:46Hit it with every end thing!
19:47The core says, to free the star, I have to become it.
19:51I have to let go of being human.
19:54Completely.
19:57Become a star or let the sky die.
20:00Some choices suck.
20:02Briar, can you hear my heartbeat?
20:04Through this monster, through the dark, can you hear me?
20:07I hear you.
20:08I always hear you.
20:10Even in the belly of a space whale.
20:12There's always another way, Nico.
20:13The core said she has to become the star.
20:16But what if two hearts become the star?
20:18Together?
20:19Together?
20:27This one's for her!
20:31His voice!
20:32He's singing the whale apart from the outside!
20:38Come on!
20:39Let it go!
20:40The star wants to be free!
20:46Sienna was right.
20:47Not alone.
20:48I'm taking the core.
20:50But I'm bringing it back out.
20:53I'm Briar.
20:55I kissed a boy on a whale.
20:56I'm going back to him.
20:58I am not a star!
21:03I told you, I'm coming back.
21:06Always.
21:07Every dark spot in the sky, gone!
21:11Like it was never there!
21:14I've been up here three years.
21:16Never seen the sky like this.
21:18Everything's alive again.
21:19The stream, the grass, even the cabin.
21:21We saved it.
21:24She's not forcing the kiss anymore.
21:26She's just celebrating.
21:29No aurora.
21:29No whale.
21:30Just me wanting to kiss you.
21:33Nico, I can go home now.
21:35The four core simvers give me enough power to go back to Earth.
21:37Then you should go.
21:38You had a life down there.
21:39Friends.
21:40A rooftop with a telescope.
21:42I had a life.
21:44Past tense.
21:45My life is here now.
21:46You're staying?
21:47You're actually staying?
21:48A glowing fox.
21:50A see-through deer.
21:51A golden bunny.
21:52Two space whales.
21:54And the hottest guy in the sky.
21:56This is my family now.
22:00It's made from my light and yours woven together.
22:03So you always carry a piece of us.
22:05Remember the first night?
22:06You said, great.
22:07Another stray.
22:08Look at us now.
22:10Best stray the whale ever brought me.
22:14Something just hit me from deep space.
22:16The cores are...
22:17They're responding to something.
22:20That's not a whale.
22:22That's not a star.
22:24Briar, I think that's a god.
22:30The whales are crying.
22:32Like babies finding their mom.
22:34She's their origin.
22:35Four hearts of the sky in one small human.
22:40I haven't felt this in a thousand years.
22:42The sky was born from love.
22:44Two hearts beating as one.
22:46That's how starlight is made.
22:48Gold.
22:49Guard the sky forever.
22:50Together.
22:51Silver.
22:52Return to earth.
22:53Forget everything.
22:54Choose.
22:55We don't pick doors.
22:57We make our own.
22:59We're not choosing between sky and earth.
23:02We want both.
23:03A bridge.
23:04Between sky and earth.
23:07No one has ever created a third choice.
23:10Then walk both worlds.
23:12The first skywalkers.
23:14Protect the bridge.
23:15I can be human and starlight?
23:17That's the ultimate cheat code.
23:21Walking between worlds with the girl who punched a space whale.
23:24Not a bad Tuesday.
23:25This is where sky meets earth.
23:27Right here.
23:27Right between us.
23:28We kissed on the back of a whale.
23:30On a moon island.
23:31In a star's belly.
23:33In space.
23:34But this one, this is my favorite.
23:41Hey Nico, you think there are more whales out there?
23:44Beyond the sky?
23:45Only one way to find out.
