IYKYK (Lovers Anthem) by friends for summer on IYKYK Records.
Two worlds. One story. A rooftop open-air beach club at night — laser lights, a vast crowd with hands in the air, two women in shimmering dresses dancing together in the heat of the night, the Mediterranean sea glittering beyond the open rooftop.
Then a hard cut. Black and white. 1950s Hollywood. The same two women in oversized cotton t-shirts and bare feet, pushing through long grass and olive branches to find a secret beach. Sitting side by side at a tiny shack restaurant with a glass of wine. Foreheads touching. Nearly kissing. The whole world just the two of them.
The cut between worlds always happens on the lyric — you don’t need a map, you don’t need a sign, just a feeling and a little more time.
