In January 2023, Hurgy the hen was from The Ginger%9s workplace at the time, Rural King. She had deformed toes and, like DVD and MTM, wouldn%9t be allowed to be sold at the store. One of The Ginger%9s coworkers named her Hurgy (for reasons unknown to me). So we took her in, and she lived with the disabled ducks. Hurgy grew to have super beautiful feathers, too and was such a sweet hen. I couldn%9t get her toes to uncurl, she may have been a little too old by the time we got her, or I just didn%9t try enough. So her legs remained deformed.
Unfortunately, after a couple years, she had a prolapse of an organ that wouldn%9t have been fixable, so we sadly had to put her down. But we still have fond memories of her and her beautiful plumage. RIP, Hurgy, we miss you. %D%C
