Marshall Faulk says he first noticed something was wrong while playing golf. After long rounds or practice, he felt stiffness in his hand something he initially thought was just nerves while putting. When the sensation continued outside a match, Faulk asked his doctor if it was normal. His doctor urged him to get checked, and further medical evaluation led to a Parkinson’s diagnosis about 18 months ago.

00:00I get a physical twice a year.
00:01I'm a little anal about my health.
00:03And I just, I literally asked my doctor
00:05because I noticed it as I was playing golf.
00:08Like, I noticed, like, I noticed, like, my hand,
00:10the rigidity in my hand just sometimes after I play a lot
00:14or I practice a lot.
00:15And I just thought it was, you know, normal nerves
00:17when putting and stuff like that.
00:19But it was, it started to be times where I wasn't playing.
00:23I mean, where I was playing, but I wasn't in a match,
00:27and it would still do that.
00:28And I was like, wow, is that something, is that normal?
00:31And the doctor was, he literally was like,
00:33you need to go get checked.
00:34You need to go, like, have X, Y, and Z done.
00:37You're at an age, it's possible.
00:39It's likely that it's not, but you need to go get checked.
00:42And you tell me that and I'm going.
00:44Like, I believe in going to the doctor.
