00:31apresentou modernas formas e materiais,
00:33adaptadas ao Tashkens clima e locais tradições.

00:50examinamos as unidades.
00:52Temos essa unidade,
00:53tentamos mostrar e transmitir a global comunidade.
01:22por arquitetos Rozanov e Xestopalov,
01:25o edificio responde direto
01:27ao Tashkens' intensa de sombra.
01:29Tashkens, os locais de pesquisa de pesquisa de pesquisa de pesquisa de pesquisa de pesquisa de pesquisa de pesquisa.
01:48Tradicional craftsmanship was also built into the museum itself.
02:05A few minutes away,
02:07the State Museum of Art offers another version of the same architectural experiment.
02:13Some buildings are designed to house art,
02:16others become works of art themselves.
02:19The Uzbekistan State Museum of Art is one of them.
02:22Its bold geometry and minimalist design
02:25reflect a period when Tashkens was reimagining its identity through modern architecture.
02:31Designed specifically for its purpose,
02:33construction began in 1967
02:35and was completed in 1974.
02:39There were experimental materials used.
02:41It did not stop the bright, sun light,
02:45which is absolutely impossible for art,
02:48especially painting, graphics, textiles.
02:51In addition to that, it could hold the temperature.
02:55Modernism also shaped the places where Tashkens gathered for concerts,
02:59performances and public events.
03:01The People's Friendship Palace is one of the most prominent examples.
03:05The People's Friendship Palace has long been part of Tashkens cultural life.
03:10Concerts, performances and major events bring audiences here throughout the year.
03:15But while the attention is usually on the stage,
03:18there is another story about and around it.
03:20A remarkable piece of Tashkens modernist architecture,
03:24designed to be experienced alongside the events it hosts.
03:27Those references continue to the interior,
03:31where decoration was incorporated into functional elements of the building.
03:57Another landmark from this period was built specifically for circus performances.
04:01Its circular form made the Uzbek Stage Circus
04:04one of the most distinctive additions to Tashkent's modernist cityscape.
04:18But one of the city's most recognizable examples of modernism takes us underground.
04:24Kosmonaflar Metro Station turns an everyday journey into a piece of design.
04:31This station was used as a theme of cosmonautics,
04:35the development of human beings of the cosmos and the development of science and technology.
04:39More than 50 years after this architectural movement reshapes Tashkent,
04:44many of its buildings are still doing the jobs they were designed to do.
04:48Their UNESCO status may be new, their place in Tashkent is not.
