00:00Using science, I made a rainbow-colored flame that I'm able to hold and combine into a fire tornado.
00:05I also made water that instantly turns into ice when you touch it.
00:09And with just powdered sugar, I mastered the ancient art of fire breathing with no experience.
00:14But I'm not stopping there, because today we're going to test level 1 to 1,000 science experiments.
00:19And the goal by the end of the video is not only to learn how these experiments work, but also
00:23why they work.
00:25Starting with level 1, we're making a magic lighter that ignites a floating flame.
00:29Take a normal pen and dip the ink onto the tip of a lighter, and watch the magic happen.
00:35Oh yeah, the flame is floating!
00:38This works because normally when a lighter burns, it emits blue light like this.
00:42But when ink is burned, it's emitting ultraviolet light, which we can't see with our human eyes.
00:49This creates an illusion of the flame floating emitted.
00:52Moving on to level 100, did you know that we can bend light using water?
00:56So if we shoot the laser pointer through normal water, it's just a straight line.
01:00Nothing really interesting happens.
01:02But when you shoot lasers through different liquids, it can alter the behaviors.
01:07Let's try the salt water first.
01:09So now the bottom has a layer of salt water.
01:11Let's see what happens when we shine our laser through it.
01:14As you can see, with normal water, the laser just goes straight.
01:17But as we move down, lower and lower, now we're entering the salt water zone.
01:22The laser is bending at the tip.
01:24This is happening because the salt water is more dense, which means the light is traveling a little slower.
01:29Let's see what happens if we pour oil inside.
01:31So now that our oil has settled, we now have a smooth surface at the bottom here.
01:37And it's creating a divide between the oil and the water.
01:40Let's turn off the lights.
01:41When you shine the laser through oil, look at what happens.
01:45It creates a laser reflection.
01:48This is because the oil has a smooth surface at the top and the bottom.
01:52It kind of acts like a mirror for the laser.
01:54For this next experiment, we're going to make things levitate with the power of the force.
01:59And in this case, that's an electrical force.
02:03We just need a couple of things.
02:05Balloon, plastic bag, and some scissors.
02:08First blow up your balloon.
02:10Bam.
02:11And this is just a simple grocery bag I took from the grocery store.
02:15And all we've got to do is just cut up a section in the middle.
02:18After you cut out your ring of plastic here, next step is pretty simple.
02:23Rub both of these on your shirt.
02:25And this will create a negative static charge.
02:28Oh, I'm feeling myself.
02:32Here we go.
02:32Watch the magic happen.
02:35Oh, yeah, baby.
02:37We're now making the bag float with the power of electrical force.
02:43As you rub the bag in the balloon, they're both becoming negatively charged.
02:47And it's kind of like a magnet repelling each other.
02:50That's what's making them float.
02:52And with the power of the force, make it rise again.
02:57This trick just goes to show that there's more to our world than what we can see with
03:02our naked eye.
03:03For this next experiment, I'm going to show you how to win a free gaming console or a
03:07smartphone or Amazon gift cards with a total value of $5,000.
03:11It's pretty simple.

04:00Make sure you go download Raid Shadow Legends for a chance to win these prizes.
04:03This next experiment is one of the coolest but also easiest experiments to do.
04:08We're going to make instant ice.
04:10Here, we just have a normal bottle of Fiji water, but watch what happens when it's slammed.
04:14Ice starts to form.
04:17You see that?
04:18That is so cool because this is a bottle of super cool water.
04:23I tried a lot of different methods to make these super cool waters and this is the best
04:28one I've found.
04:28So first, you take your Fiji waters and you just put them in the fridge and leave them
04:33in the fridge for three hours.
04:35So after the waters have been chilling for a couple hours in the fridge, now we're going
04:39to move it into the freezer.
04:41And now we need to set a timer for two hours.
04:44When you're taking it out, be very careful not to shake the bottle.
04:48Now you're ready for some experiments.
04:50Now let's test the instant ice with some frozen fruits.
04:53This will produce a really cool effect.
04:55This is a whole bottle of super cool water.
04:57We're just going to pour it in here.
04:59Oh, that is cold.
05:01That is cold.
05:01I'm just blow drying it so it's not foggy.
05:04So you can see it better.
05:06Let's start with a strawberry.
05:11Oh my goodness.
05:15Oh, that is so cool.
05:17It's like an instant ice lollipop.
05:19So we super cool the water to below freezing temperature, but why was it still liquid?
05:25Because for water to turn into ice, it needs particles to form ice crystals around.
05:30Normally it would be the chemicals or dust in your tap water.
05:34But purified water doesn't have those chemicals.
05:36So the crystallization process can't start.
05:39That's why when you tap it, it starts the process.
05:41Or if you pour the super cool water onto the ice, it will start forming because the ice
05:47is starting the crystallization process.
05:49That is so cool.
05:51Wow.
05:53Woo.
05:54That is cold.
05:55But that's almost like a magic trick.
05:57For this experiment, we're going to make slime come to life with magnets.
06:01So to make the slime, just take a bottle of Elmer's glue and let's squirt it into the bowl
06:05and just add equal parts water.
06:07And now we mix until it's fully dissolved.
06:10Next, we're going to take a quarter teaspoon of borax and we're going to dissolve it into
06:15a half cup of water.
06:17Slowly pour in our borax solution into the glue.
06:21Now we just need to pour it out and knead it like bread.
06:23Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo.
06:25That is a weird texture.
06:27Now we got the slime.
06:28We're going to make it magnetic.
06:30These are iron filings.
06:32You can be pretty generous here.
06:34The more you put in, the more magnetic it will be.
06:36Our slime is ready.
06:38To make our slime come alive, we just need this.
06:41A strong magnet.
06:43And later, we're going to test it with this super magnet and see what happens.
06:47Oh.
06:48Oh.
06:49Yo.
06:50Oh my god.
06:51Do you see that?
06:51What would happen if I just threw this whole thing in?
06:56Oh.
06:57Yo.
06:58Yo, this is cool.
06:59Now let's try it with our big boy super magnet.
07:02Let's see.
07:04Oh.
07:07It looks like a Pokemon, to be honest.
07:09Now let's put the slime onto the super magnet and see what happens.
07:14Whoa.
07:16It just like immediately cleans on.
07:18For this experiment, we're going to make a magnetic motor using a simple AA battery,
07:24magnets, and some copper wire.
07:26The first step is stick the magnet to the bottom of the battery.
07:29We're going to make this copper wire spin with the motor, so we want to make a shape.
07:34The easiest shape we can make is like a McDonald's M.
07:37Here we go.
07:39Spin.
07:42Why is it not spinning?
07:45Just give it a little head start.
07:47Whoa.
07:49Yo.
07:50That's spinning really well.
07:52These coils are moving because the magnets that we placed here are creating a magnetic field.
07:57Lastly, this is my favorite shape.
08:00I love you all.
08:01And this is for you.
08:03Spin.
08:05You can make any shape with the coil as long as it's perfectly balanced.
08:09Now let's spin into the next experiment.
08:11For our next experiment, we're going to make this egg explode with the help of some signs.
08:15First off, all you got to do is just peel it.
08:20Nice and simple there.
08:21And now, get a plate and a small bowl or a cover.
08:25We need the cover in case it explodes on us.
08:28We don't want to clean up the mess.
08:29Pop it in there.
08:31In my testing, I found that 30 to 40 seconds seems to be about the sweet spot.
08:41Uh-uh-uh.
08:42Not on my watch.
08:43I'll give you a quick demonstration.
08:45Three, two, one.
08:48Oh!
08:52We're now going to play a game of egg roulette with my roommate, Doug.
08:56You ready?
08:57I'm ready.
08:57Rock, paper, scissors on who goes first.
08:59All right, ready?
08:59Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.
09:01I got him.
09:03Okay, I'm strategically going to go for this one.
09:06Oh, I don't like that.
09:07I don't like that.
09:08All right, that one's normal.
09:09Okay.
09:10Okay.
09:11I'm going to go for this one.
09:12Okay, that was a normal egg too.
09:14You didn't even stand back on that one.
09:15You stood back on mine like you didn't know which ones they are.
09:17It's all random, man.
09:20Oh, crap.
09:22Okay.
09:24All right.
09:27All right.
09:28Let's clear the board.
09:30We're now down to the last two.
09:32Make your choice wisely.
09:33The last two nuts.
09:43The last two nuts.
09:47Wow.
09:48Look at that.
09:49Jeez.
09:49Yeah, because there was like a buildup of steam inside and the white parts trap the steam
09:56in.
09:56Oh.
09:57So when you cut into it, it just all explodes out.
10:00With this next experiment, we're going to be able to alter one of the primary elements,
10:06fire.
10:06So normally, when you light a fire, it's orange.
10:09But with these ingredients right here, we're able to change the color of the flame.
10:14Remember, never going raw, always wear protection.
10:18So we got five tins here and each one of them, we're going to fill up with our fuel methanol.
10:23All right.
10:23As you can see, methanol just lights as a blue flame.
10:26The second tin, let's add some boric acid in there.
10:31Oh, yeah, baby.
10:33Have you ever seen such a pretty flame?
10:36It's like a video game flame.
10:37And this is completely safe to burn.
10:39This is so cool.
10:40And then our next flame is going to be purple with the salt substitute.
10:44Let's add that in there.
10:46Look at that.
10:47It's a little hard to tell the difference between purple and blue, but that's definitely purple
10:52in real life.
10:53You know, our next container, we're just going to add normal table salt, which will make
10:57it yellow.
10:58Look at that.
11:00That is incredible.
11:02Lastly, we got the lithium.
11:04Oh, look at that.
11:05It instantly reacts.
11:07Whoa.
11:08That is a very vibrant red color.
11:11Like, I cannot believe this exists in real life.
11:14We can also combine these colored flames with our previous firehands experiment to make colored
11:18flames you can hold.
11:19Now we're going to combine all these colors and make a rainbow colored flame tornado.
11:24So this is a mesh trash can glued to a lazy Susan.
11:28As it spins, air catches inside, propelling the flame upwards, making a giant tornado.
11:34It's go time.
11:38Oh, yeah.
11:42That is amazing.
11:44Look at that.
11:45This almost doesn't even look real.
11:49Let's blast off into the next experiment.
11:52Would you believe me if I told you I could make a balloon invincible?
11:55This is just a regular balloon.
12:00And this is a thumbtack.
12:02And let's place it down.
12:03Do you think this will pop?
12:05I mean, oh, yeah, man.
12:08That's kind of to be expected, right?
12:10But what if we added more thumbtacks?
12:12You would think this will probably pop instantly, right?
12:15Let's find out.
12:18Nobody's better at blowing than me.
12:20Let's see.
12:23Look at that.
12:24It's not popping.
12:25And not just that.
12:26We can even add some weight to it.
12:28One gold play button weighs about five pounds.
12:31And the balloon is perfectly supporting this.
12:33So let's add more weight.
12:34Adding a second play button.
12:36This is 10 pounds.
12:38Look, I'm not even touching it.
12:39I'm just helping it balance.
12:41This balloon has now become invincible.
12:43I can even, like, bounce it.
12:44Give it a little jiggle.
12:46It's still not popping.
12:47The explanation for this is actually quite simple.
12:49This is because when there's only just one pin,
12:52all the pressure is focused on that singular point.
12:56But when we place a bunch of pins underneath,
12:59the pressure is distributed all across these 100 pins.
13:03And each one of them doesn't have enough pressure to pop the balloon.
13:07This is very counterintuitive.
13:09And people use the same law of physics to walk on nails.
13:14Let's add more weight.
13:15I'll just use my third hand.
13:17Put it in place.
13:19There we go.
13:20Okay, let go.
13:21Yo, look at that.
13:22The balloon is, like, fully...
13:24Oh!
13:24Oh!
13:25I guess we found the limit.
13:26On to the next experiment.
13:28This next experiment can be potentially fatal if done wrong.
13:31So do not try this at home.
13:33I am going to attempt the dangerous art of fire breathing without any previous experience.
13:40So when you normally see professional fire breathers,
13:43they train for years.
13:44Because they need to learn to not swallow the toxic lamp oil that they use.
13:48And so they don't burn their face off.
13:50But I'm going to attempt the same trick a little differently.
13:53So all we need is some powdered sugar.
13:55Powder sugar, when you burn it normally, it kind of just melts.
13:58Like a marshmallow.
13:59It doesn't really catch on fire.
14:01This is because powder sugar is so fine that there's no room for oxygen to go in and catch on
14:06fire.
14:07But if we take the powder sugar, put it in our mouth, and spit it out onto a burning flame,
14:12something different will happen.
14:25And with the power of science, we just successfully attempted fire breathing with no previous experience.
14:31Let's go bigger.
14:39That was freaking cool, man.
14:48For our final experiment, we're going to make fireworks using these two things.
14:539-volt battery and steel wool.
14:55Normally, you wouldn't think this stuff is flammable.
14:58But watch what happens when I touch them together.
15:02Look at that.
15:03It just instantly ignites.
15:05When the battery touches the steel wool, it completes the electric circuit.
15:09But steel wool isn't a great conductor.
15:12So it generates a lot of resistance.
15:14And resistance generates heat.
15:16When there's enough heat, fire.
15:18And because steel wool is made up of such fine strands, it has a lot of surface area to catch
15:23oxygen,
15:24which makes it ignite even faster.
15:26And when we tie it to an end of a rope and swing it around, that's when we get fireworks.
15:31Now it's dark and we're in a park.
15:33It's time to set off some fireworks.
15:38Ready?
15:39Woo!
15:40Woo!
15:41That is hot, bruh.
15:43Woo-hoo!
15:45This is so cool, man.
15:49Now, that was incredibly cool.
15:52And it's such a cheap thing to make as well.
15:54But there's something even cooler we can do.
15:56And it's a camera trick.
15:58So if you set your camera to a setting called long exposure,
16:01you can recreate the Doctor Strange portal.
16:04We're going to become Doctor Strange!
16:05Goodbye!
16:08And now we just need to bring it to Photoshop and let the magic happen.
16:12Here's the final result.
16:15Make sure you go claim your prizes by downloading Raid Shower Legends
