rewatch post for The Sea God's Disguise: Fishing for Love — the old man, because everything runs through him.
A boy pulls a god out of the water. Sixty years pass. That boy is the grandfather in the opening scenes, and he isn't asking for himself — he's asking for time.
Watch how the show handles it. He gets three more years, and spends them watching a household that never thanks the man holding it up. Nobody there knows what he traded.
The ending only works because of him. Every plate on that table is paid for by a debt nobody was told about.
✨ What actually worked for me:
- He never explains. Not once. Not even at the end.
- The scene where he almost says it gets cut by a doorbell.
✨ Bottom line: a side character carrying the whole plot.
Which episode did you catch him in? Two, for me.
