Using liquid accelerants anywhere near hot coals or open flames creates an extreme fire hazard that can ignite in a fraction of a second.

The clip captures a terrifying backyard mishap as a man brings a metal container of flammable liquid over toward a bed of hot burning embers.

As he tilts the can to pour the liquid, vapors from the container catch an open flame, instantly igniting the spout and sending a sudden burst of fire splashing onto his clothing.

Acting quickly on instinct, the man immediately sheds his burning clothes to prevent serious burns before retreating to a safe distance.

Once clear of immediate danger, he grabs a garden hose to thoroughly spray down the flaming container and surrounding area until the fire is completely extinguished.
