00:00Somebody tried to steal a car in my apartment lot last month and gave up after 20 minutes
00:04of wrestling with the steering wheel.
00:06That's the whole idea.
00:09So I went through dozens of listings, pulled out the ones with thousands of sales and near-perfect
00:13ratings, and found what I think are the best deals out there.
00:17This is your top 5 steering wheel locks for theft prevention, and the prices are way lower
00:21than I expected.
00:23First on the list is the universal seatbelt lock with 3 keys, and this is the one most
00:28people end up buying.
00:30It clamps your steering wheel and threads your seatbelt right through the body, so a
00:33key is the only way back out.
00:363 keys is genuinely useful when you lose one in a parking garage.
00:40It's just under 20 bucks, and nearly 5,000 people already own one.
00:45Next is the alarm-style retractable lock, and it's the most convincing deterrent on this
00:50whole list.
00:51The second the wheel starts turning, that built-in alarm goes off loud enough to wake up an entire
00:56parking lot.
00:57Yeah, it costs more, around $65, but a 4.9 rating from almost 5,000 buyers tells me people
01:04feel exactly the way I do.
01:06It works.
01:08Now, if you drive a truck, a van, or a big SUV, this is your pick.
01:13Heavy steel body, retractable double hook, and it actually adjusts to fit the chunky steering
01:17wheels where cheap plastic locks just slide right off.
01:2137 bucks, still a 4.9 rating.
01:24It's the strongest-looking thing in the video and you can tell.
01:28This steel lock with two keys is the best value on the list and it barely costs anything.
01:34Solid steel, no bells and whistles, just a tight fit around your wheel with the key lock
01:38sitting right in front of you.
01:40Under $20.
01:42If you want one thing that does a single job well, this is the one.
01:47And the cheapest option here still comes with three keys plus a durable security rope that
01:51runs through your seatbelt buckles.
01:53Cheap doesn't have to mean flimsy, this one's rated 4.7 from over 4,000 sales.

02:13those before you buy.
