00:36Actually, what's changing
00:38in this industry is the focus on
00:40technology and integrating
00:41technology to get the best out
00:43of the sector. So now you integrate
00:46technology and AI and everything
00:48to make it more productive
00:50to make it less positive and so on
01:03Qatar's hospitality industry has transformed
01:06over the past decade with new restaurants
01:08hotels and a growing tourism
01:10market. But the challenge now
01:12isn't just attracting new visitors
01:14it's giving them a reason to come

01:17More than 5 million international
01:20visitors came to Qatar last year
01:22and with so many hotels and restaurants
01:24to choose from, there's plenty of
01:26competition. For one
01:28hotel group, that means rethinking
01:30what it offers guests
01:33We observe
01:34that the customer, they are
01:36looking for more experience
01:38So for that, we are trying
01:40to be more dynamic around our
01:42environment here in Qatar
01:44to propose to the guests to
01:46explore Qatar, to go to the event
01:48to explore new places here in Qatar
01:50And there's another
01:52challenge for hotels here
01:53What visitors think they know
01:55about Qatar before they arrive
01:57The biggest surprise
02:00to be honest, it's always
02:01the same thing. We never thought that
02:03Qatar is like this. They think it's a
02:05dessert, but they are
02:07well surprised by the
02:09hospitality industry here in Qatar
02:12And hotels are also noticing a change
02:15in where their guests are coming from
02:18We are exploring a new guest market
02:21because the market here in Qatar
02:23basically is based on the
02:24GCC country
02:26But right now we are observing
02:28that new market is opening
02:30to Qatar
02:31We are seeing more guests coming
02:32from Europe, from USA
02:47It's not just tourists taking an interest
02:50in Qatar
02:50Spain is one of the world's biggest
02:53tourism destinations
02:54and its businesses are also looking
02:56for opportunities here
02:58The Spain-Qatar Chamber of Commerce
03:01is helping make those connections
03:03with companies bringing everything
03:05from food products to technology
03:08I'd say Spain is really good at socializing
03:11and creating business
03:12So we also like to come into Qatar
03:14and make a close relationship
03:16with our customers
03:17and with our other members
03:19that we have
03:19So I'd say a great way to be
03:22is just to be open and friendly
03:23and just create business
03:24in a more laid-back structure
03:26which I think Qatar does really well as well
03:29And one Spanish company
03:31has already found an opportunity
03:33Barcelona-based Explorance
03:35recently opened an office in Doha
03:37bringing its travel technology
03:39to the local market
03:42If you go to the Visit Qatar app application
03:46you download, you have opened
03:48and there is a session called Wallet
03:50So all the interactions
03:51and like rewards and points
03:54related with the tourist experience
03:56in the destination
03:57is connected to our technology
03:58so we're helping them
03:59to connect many ecosystems
04:01So how does that work for visitors?
04:04Well, the idea is to use rewards
04:06and incentives
04:07to encourage people
04:08to try something new
04:09That could mean discovering
04:11a local attraction
04:12or business
04:13they might otherwise have missed
04:16So the same
04:17we help them to drive
04:19the visitor experience
04:20to another place
04:21with the same type of interest
04:24or the same amount of activities
04:26but not that much famous
04:27on the internet
04:34For Qatar, the next challenge
04:36isn't simply bringing more tourists
04:38through the door
