Subaru plans to end Europe sales of gas-powered cars no later than 2027, then offer only electric models there from 2028, Engadget reports. The Outback is the first gas model to go at the end of 2026, followed by the Impreza, Crosstrek and Forester in 2027. Subaru's EU lineup will then include the Solterra, E-Outback—sold as the Trailseeker in the US—and Uncharted, all developed with Toyota. Subaru cited EU rules requiring new cars to average 93.6 grams of CO2 per kilometer and added driver-assistance systems.
