00:01:24And now that people have started asking me about mine, I think it's time to leave.
00:01:29Because sadly, my answers are nowhere near as interesting as theirs.
00:01:33But, but, what a ride it's been.
00:01:35It truly has.
00:01:36We made memories and we made memes.
00:01:38Stars came here, let their guard down, and very, very thoughtfully put their feet straight
00:01:43into their respective mouths.
00:01:44We've witnessed friendships collapse, rivalries reignite, and celebrities discover that the
00:01:50most dangerous thing in Bollywood isn't a flop.
00:01:52No, it's a rapid fire round.
00:01:54And now, we have just one last season to keep things crackling.
00:01:58I have to uphold the time on a tradition of the show and ask the questions that truly matter.

00:05:07And I was standing rather sad at Chunky's house.
00:05:11He had a house party, and you came up to me, and your exact words were, you've been shopping?
00:05:17So I said yes, and he said, okay, come tomorrow and narrate your film to me.
00:05:22I said, where should I come?
00:05:24Because first day, I couldn't believe you were even asking me to come to narrate the film because I never
00:05:28expected.
00:05:28No, because Alvira had already informed me.
00:05:30Yeah.
00:05:31And you know how I feel about your mom and your dad.
00:05:33Yes.
00:05:34So I'm going to tell you a story of your dad, Sohail, and me.
00:05:38So Tom Uncle, we called him because he was very close to the government in Mauritius.
00:05:44Yes.
00:05:44So he had shot some films there earlier.
00:05:47So we called him for, I think it was, Hello Brother.
00:05:50Yes, yes.
00:05:50Then we said, Tom Uncle, you're very close to the boys in Mauritius, not the film industry and stuff like

00:05:57I think we wanted the airport or the airstrip and stuff like that.
00:06:01He said, yeah, I'll see you in the house.
00:06:02We spoke to him on a Tuesday, Wednesday night, he has called up, Sohail and me.
00:06:08And he said, yeah, what all did you want from here?
00:06:11That's it, from where Tom Uncle?
00:06:12He said, from Mauritius.
00:06:13I'm sitting in Mauritius.
00:06:14I'm sitting with the government and I'm speaking to them.
00:06:17So tell him what you want.
00:06:19He flew to Mauritius the next night to get this clear.
00:06:24Yeah, they don't make them like that anymore.
00:06:27No chance.
00:06:28And I remember my dad, Salim Sahib, Javed Sahib, together in my house, I have memories.
00:06:34And the fact that, you know, the relationship continues, I think that generation, they don't make like that anymore.
00:06:41And every time your father came home, calm ho, nahi, I mean, calm to the time you spoke.
00:06:45I think only Dostana, Dostana ke baad, kabhi kuchh kam nahi tha.
00:06:49Nahi.
00:06:49So every time he came home, he came home with an alcohol bottle for my father.
00:06:54Yeah.
00:06:55Yeah.
00:06:55That was him.
00:06:56And I remember that when I came to the set to narrate it, you were shooting for Jab Pyaar Kisi
00:07:02Se Hota Hai.
00:07:03And I arrived at 2 p.m.
00:07:04You said 2 to 10 ka shift here.
00:07:06And then at 9 o'clock you said, come home and narrate the film to me.
00:07:10And you had Salman, just for everyone to know this, Salman stayed, like the family stayed together.
00:07:16There was Arbaz, Suhail, Salman, Salmanti, Salim Sahib, everyone.
00:07:19And you had the tiniest room.
00:07:21And you had one closet, one cupboard, one bed.
00:07:24And I was shocked because I'm like, this is Salman Khan's camera.
00:07:28And I entered and you sat then, you removed all your clothes and you were in yellow shorts.
00:07:32So I said, he should not think I'm looking at him in any other way.
00:07:36So I started narrating the film.
00:07:37But you know that room, I never stayed there alone.
00:07:39Yeah.
00:07:40I stayed there with somebody, jisko mi nah kabhi dekha hai nahi.
00:07:44Sif suna hai.
00:07:45Sif mhsous ki hai piche hai.
00:07:48Who?
00:07:50So every time I came out, the lights used to go on and off.
00:07:55What?
00:07:55Yeah, the cupboards used to open up.
00:07:57The music used to come on.
00:07:59Then the bathroom, I could feel somebody outside, you know, fidgeting with the cupboards.
00:08:03And I used to open it.
00:08:04And then I figured out that there was somebody there, something there.
00:08:07You felt it was like haunted?
00:08:09Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:08:09No, not haunted.
00:08:10I mean, there was a presence felt there by me.
00:08:13And then so every time I put on some music and I could feel it right behind me.
00:08:18And I would say that, kya music shunna pasant kare hai haap?
00:08:21What kind of music?
00:08:22And I said, just press any button, I used to walk out.
00:08:25What?
00:08:25So there was a billiard table outside.
00:08:27Yeah.
00:08:27Earlier.
00:08:28Yeah, yeah.
00:08:28When we used to play billiards, we could hear, you know, somebody inside.
00:08:33And this didn't fit you out?
00:08:34Music on ho gaya.
00:08:35No, no.
00:08:36No?
00:08:37It didn't do anything.
00:08:38So my only request was that if you're a really, really beautiful woman, then you show yourself
00:08:44to me.
00:08:46But I narrated the first half of the film staring at another wall.
00:08:50And you heard me, you were hearing me very intensely.
00:08:54And then you got up at interval.
00:08:56And you said, okay, I'm doing the film.
00:08:58So I said, uh, and I got stressed because I had only narrated Shah Rukh's part.
00:09:03There was no, you hadn't arrived.
00:09:05So I said, but Talman, your part hasn't yet come.
00:09:09But, you know, Karan, even before you had come to narrate it to me, no matter how bad it
00:09:14was, I had to confirm, I had to decide my mind, no matter how bad it is, I'm going to
00:09:18do it.
00:09:19That was a given.
00:09:20I mean, there was, there was nothing, you didn't even have to narrate the film to me.
00:09:23And you didn't have to do it.
00:09:25There was no reason for you to do it.
00:09:26No, this was the reason to do it because dad, your dad, your mom, my mom, Alvira, you guys.
00:09:35And so, and yeah.
00:09:37So you got up and you said, uh, what are you going to pay me?
00:09:42So I said, uh.
00:09:43That's another thing.
00:09:44And you said, I'm not going to pay anything.
00:09:45Even then it was done.
00:09:46There's four, Tom, uncle and his son.
00:09:49I don't, I don't even want money for guest appearance because I had already done so many
00:09:53guest appearances without any money.
00:09:55So this was not really a guest.
00:09:56This was 12 days of work.
00:09:57Yeah.
00:09:57But I've done 22 days of guest appearance.
00:10:00And so that's.
00:10:02And you arrived and then you walked outside and you hadn't heard the second half.
00:10:05And there were a bunch of filmmakers sitting for their next meetings with you.
00:10:09And you walked outside and you said, what a second half he's written.
00:10:12And you hadn't heard the second half.
00:10:14And I was like, I was so flummoxed because I'd never experienced something like this.
00:10:18And then the funniest thing happened.
00:10:20We were, we started the schedule with Sarjanji Gharai.
00:10:23And you were doing a double shift in those days.
00:10:25Yeah.
00:10:25You were shooting for Hamdil Dejo Kisanam.
00:10:27A BV number one and for Kuch Kuch.
00:10:30Okay.
00:10:30They were all simultaneous.
00:10:31You were shooting the Patangwala Gaana.
00:10:32Yeah.
00:10:33And every day you would tell me, and this is really funny.
00:10:36Every day you would tell me, what a song Sanjay Leela Mansali is shooting.
00:10:39What a song.
00:10:41So I was like, anyway, it was my first film and I was getting very, because when I was
00:10:45shooting with Shah Rukh, he was telling me about Dil Se.
00:10:48And you were telling me about Hamdil.
00:10:50So I was complex.
00:10:51I was shooting the Patangwala Gaana.
00:10:53I was shooting BV number one Hai, BV number one.
00:10:56And then you were shooting Sajir Jigharai.
00:10:57And then I was shooting this one as well.
00:10:59Sajir Jigharai.
00:11:00So when I used to go to Sanjay's set, I used to say, what a song Karan is shooting.
00:11:05And David, yeh dhono kya yaar, Gaana shoot kar rahe.
00:11:08And the funniest thing is one day Sanjay Mansali came on my set looking up and down like that.
00:11:12And I'm thinking, kya Gaana shoot kar rahe, Gaana shoot kar rahe, kya mein utna bhi kar rahe.
00:11:17And Sanjay Mansali came on the set, he's like, you know, Salman told me you're shooting an outstanding song.
00:11:21I said, but he's telling me you're shooting an outstanding song.
00:11:24So it was really quite hilarious to see Bansali walk in, check out my set.
00:11:29Well, I really wanted to go and check out his patang wala song ke kya kar rahe.
00:11:32And you were this person.
00:11:34And you were just, like, it was crazy.
00:11:36And your DP, and your DP.
00:11:39You know, and then the funniest thing happened.
00:11:41He shot the whole song in high speed.
00:11:42No, he shot one.
00:11:44You were going to catch a flight for Jab Pyaar Kisi Se Hota Hai.
00:11:48It was a big outdoor and it was our last shoot on set and climax.
00:11:53And this is the end of the film where there's Shah Rukh, there's Salman Khan, there's Rani Mukherjee as a
00:11:58ghost.
00:11:59There's Kajal, there's Reema Laguji, there's Anupam, there's Farida Jalal.
00:12:04And we shot an entire day in slow motion because the cameraman forgot to put the lever up to 24.
00:12:11Those days, we couldn't tell him.
00:12:13I run to your house in the middle of the night and you're all ready to go to Switzerland.
00:12:17And I meet you and I said, Salman, please stay back one more day.
00:12:21We have shot an entire day in slow motion in 48 frames.
00:12:24And you laughed and you said, I'll see you tomorrow.
00:12:27And you arrived and we shot the whole day again.
00:12:30And every time you would face the camera, you would look at D.O.P. and say, 48 frames.
00:12:35You would say 48 frames.
00:12:36And like, you know, when I look at those days, Salman, like everybody had a certain togetherness,
00:12:43a certain kind of camaraderie, a certain fraternity feeling.
00:12:47I mean, it's gone.
00:12:49Today, actors are dealing with publicists and PR.
00:12:52No, but depends on who actors you're talking about.
00:12:55With us, it's still the same.
00:12:56Yeah.
00:12:57With us, it's still the same.
00:12:58Nothing has changed.
00:13:00Even when the PR tells us, that it's going to do this, it's going to do this.
00:13:03I say, you've just come into the industry.
00:13:05We've been here since, you know, decades.
00:13:09So now don't tell us what to do.
00:13:10Yeah.
00:13:11But what you've gone on record and spoken about trolling and spoken about the paparazzi culture
00:13:16and how they shoot images from certain angles.
00:13:19And you've been very vocal about it, Salman.
00:13:21And thank God for that.
00:13:22Because there's so much that is not right with what's going on.
00:13:25It's just getting out of hand.
00:13:27Look, when PR came, there's some people pay the PR for their sighting.
00:13:33Or what is it called?

00:13:37So, and people, there's some people who want to do that stuff.
00:13:40I was not speaking about those kind of people.
00:13:43I was speaking for those people who don't want it.

00:13:47And they're really bad angles.

00:13:49And, you know, girls are uncomfortable.
00:13:53Jisne ke phone bana hai na.
00:13:55Or phone mein camera jisne bana ya hai.

00:14:00Jisne, hum hum sab ki zindagi hain barbaad kare.
00:14:03So now every guy who has a phone has a camera attached to it.

00:14:07And this always used to bother me.

00:14:10Guess who matthab kaha se guess kare hai hai.
00:14:12Because they showed the back.

00:14:15I mean, that's ridiculous.

00:14:18Also, I think what's amazing to know, this particular year, we've seen Akshay give two solid successes.
00:14:27We've seen Ajay give Drishyam.
00:14:29We have two massive movies coming from your end.
00:14:33We have Shah Rukh ending the year with King.
00:14:35It's almost like this order of illustrious gentlemen.
00:14:40Akshay, Ajay, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan.
00:14:43Just holding forth.
00:14:44Today, the biggest successes are still coming from all of you.
00:14:48What do you have to say about, is the other generation not matching up?
00:14:52Or are you just not allowing them to?
00:14:54We're interested in our work.
00:14:56Yeah.
00:14:57We want to get out of our houses.
00:14:59We want to go on to the sets.
00:15:01And we want to do good work.
00:15:03Sometimes it turns out right.

00:15:07But the films that we make are the films that every Hindustani would be comfortable to see with the whole

00:15:16That is one of the main reasons.
00:15:18And because we're interested in our work.
00:15:19You know, most of the films sometimes, like, I see a vision, you know, that this is the way this
00:15:25film is going to turn out.
00:15:27But the director doesn't see it like that.

00:15:29That is when the thoda bod garbar happens.
00:15:33When I mentioned Aamir just now, an interesting line that came up when I was reading all the interviews in
00:15:38my research.
00:15:39Aamir said, I'm going to tie Salman's hand and feet and get him married.
00:15:44And then you said, much after that, said that I'm going to tie his hand and feet and make sure
00:15:49he never gets married again.
00:15:50But he's married now for the third time.
00:15:52You're still not married.
00:15:53I'm happy for him.

00:16:49So you have a family, you have a family.

00:19:24We were shooting for Das and we were rigged onto a helicopter.
00:19:29And the helicopter was supposed to fly and go down into the water and it was a reverse shot, you
00:19:34know.
00:19:34So I was hanging out, he was hanging half out, I was out.
00:19:38So I started feeling my rig. It started getting loose.
00:19:43So I started shouting, I said, I held his legs so tight.
00:19:49You know, I felt I'll fall, you know, and it was hilarious.
00:19:53I still remember the night when we had gone in 2000 for shows and something happened and you got upset
00:20:01with me and I walked off and then you came chasing behind me.
00:20:04And you sat with me and we sat on the pavement and we tried for so long.
00:20:08And you were so warm and nice and loving.
00:20:11I still remember that.
00:20:13His contribution to my dad's career, it's paramount.
00:20:17And the biggest thing he gave my dad was love.
00:20:18And when I got successful, he was the first one to call, the first one to stand when I was
00:20:24nothing.
00:20:24And Mehdi Rahiro, he came and dubbed out of nowhere.
00:20:27He loves kids himself, you know.
00:20:29You know, we want them to be settled.
00:20:31We want them to be a little boy.
00:20:32A little boy, Salman, who gave everyone to us.
00:20:36Actually, why don't you marry me?

00:21:35mommy has made more water and he kept on eating, eating, eating, eating, eating
00:21:43and eventually he said, it's not that much, it's just one thing and I think Sohail was about six months
00:21:49old
00:21:49he said, I'll eat it for six months, so I'll eat it for six months
00:21:56yeah but it's obviously coming from the goodwill that
00:22:00so I mean even at that given point of time they were still giving away in their limits
00:22:06at that when we didn't have much you know and we learned that from our neighbors as well
00:22:11for Mr. Goodino, Mrs. Goodino, our tea used to be there because there was no money at that point in
00:22:17time
00:22:17but that dad's hand has always been like this
00:22:22and so has mom's
00:22:23recently we spoke about it, you went on Big Boss and created the most viral moment where you removed your
00:22:30shirt
