Power Belongs to the People

True power does not belong to tyrants, politicians, or those who use their authority to oppress others. True power belongs to the people.

In his powerful and uplifting anthem, “Power Belongs to the People,” Trey Knowles delivers a message of hope, unity, justice, and compassion. This song is not a call to hatred, violence, or political division. Instead, it is a call to awaken our humanity, stand against injustice, and become a voice for those who have been silenced.

Rather than fighting politicians out of anger, Trey challenges listeners to fight for something greater: the dignity of the poor, the protection of the vulnerable, and the freedom of those suffering under oppression.

The message is simple yet profound: We are stronger when we stand together, and real change begins when we choose love over hate, unity over division, and justice over selfish ambition.

“Power Belongs to the People” reminds us that no ruler is greater than the people they are called to serve, and no system of oppression is stronger than a united people determined to do what is right.

The power to change the world is not in the hands of a few. It lives within all of us. Power belongs to the people.

00:01I give you the authority to trample over snakes and scorpions, and to overcome all the power of the enemy,
00:07and nothing will harm you. Power belongs to the people. Power belongs to the people. Power belongs to the people.
00:20I'm sorry, but I don't want to be an emperor. I don't want to be a president. I don't want
00:25to be a prime minister. That's not my business. I don't want to rule or conquer anyone. I should help
00:32everyone as possible. Jew, Gentile, black man, white man. We all want to help one another. Human beings are alike.
00:41We want to live by each other's happiness, not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate or despise
00:46anyone.
00:48This world has room for everyone, and a good earth can enrich and provide for everyone. The way of life
00:55can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way. Greed, have poisoned men's soul, and that very gave
01:02the world to beat into misery and bloodshed.
01:10We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in machinery to give us abundance, and have left us to
01:16want more. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much, and we feel
01:23too much.
01:23More than machinery, we need humanity. More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be
01:32violent. All will be lost.
01:39Technology has brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the fitness of men. It
01:46cries out for the universal brotherhood, for the unity of us all.
01:50Even now, even now, my voice is reaching millions throughout the world. Millions of despying men, women, and women in
01:57the country. Victims of a system that makes them torture and prison and innocent.
02:03To those who can hear me, I say, do not despair. The misery that is now upon us, but the
02:09passing and greed, the bitterness of men, fear the way of human progress.
02:15The hate of men were passed, the detenters died, and the power they took for the people, but turned to
02:21me.
02:22And as so long has been dying, liberty will never perish.
02:31Soldiers, don't give yourself to men who despise you, enslave you, who make your lives hard, tell you what to
02:40do, what to think, how to feel, who drill you, diet you, treat you like cattle, use you as cannon.
02:49Don't die for nothing. Don't give yourself to these unnatural men, machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts.
02:58You are not machines. You are not cattle. You are men. You have the love of humanity in your hearts.
03:05You don't hate. Only the unloved hate. The unloved and the unnatural ones hate.
03:12You are soldiers. Don't fight for slavery. Fight for liberty.
03:16The kingdom of God is within man. Not one man, not a group of men, all men.
03:28I give you the authority to trample over snakes and scorpions, and to overcome all the power of the enemy.
03:34Nothing will harm you.
