"If ancient aliens visited Earth, who were they, and where did they come from? Possible historic evidence and beliefs are examined around the world. The Dogon people possess knowledge of a galaxy they claim was given to them by a star god named Amma. The Hopi and Zuni people celebrate Kachinas, gods from the sky, whose headdresses and costumes appear to resemble modern helmets and protective clothing. Halfway around the world, Chinese legends tell of the Han leader, Huangdi, arriving on Earth on a flying, yellow dragon. Was this dragon more likely a spacecraft? Ancient astronaut theorists believe that these are far from chance encounters and that extraterrestrials not only interacted with us, but changed the course of human history."

00:00:08Reports of UFO sightings come from all corners of the globe.
00:00:13I was taken on board a 200-foot diameter spacecraft in the Mojave Desert and given...
00:00:18I saw two great big road bright lights hanging up in the air.
00:00:24Most believe these alien encounters are a modern phenomenon.
00:00:30But the fact is, they have been reported for thousands of years.
00:00:34Practically every human civilization have been in touch with extraterrestrial beings.
00:00:41In India, Israel, the Mayans and the Aztecs.
00:00:47The idea that there was one or more non-human groups inspiring this is the truth.
00:00:56Millions of people around the world believe we have been visited in the past by extraterrestrial beings.
00:01:04But what if it were true?
00:01:06Did ancient aliens really help to shape our history?
00:01:10And if so, where did they come from?
00:01:14And just who were the visitors?
00:01:23The End
00:01:24The End
00:01:59Roswell, New Mexico.
00:02:02This sleepy town in America's southwest was once best known for its large military airbase.
00:02:09But that changed in 1947, when a local rancher reported that a spaceship crashed on his property.
00:02:20Several weeks later, the U.S. Army issued a press release confirming the existence of an alien craft.
00:02:27The next day, the military changed its story and announced that what they had found was a weather balloon.
00:02:35These conflicting reports sent shockwaves around the world.
00:02:40And the name Roswell became a pop culture code word that forever links extraterrestrial visitation with enduring mystery.
00:02:53Speculation about why the Roswell crash would be covered up is difficult to pin down.
00:03:00Some people talk about this in terms of information that would be shattering to our world view.
00:03:08Almost everyone's heard about the so-called Roswell event.
00:03:11And one of the real implications of disclosure is that some of our most cherished myths about the origins of
00:03:22the human race and our history and archaeology would fall apart.
00:03:28Something happened at Roswell, New Mexico, a long time ago.
00:03:32People want the truth.
00:03:33I think there's something in the human being itself that is striving, that is hungry for this knowledge in order
00:03:40to answer questions about our own existence.
00:03:44Today, public opinion polls indicate more than half the world's population believes aliens have either come here in the past
00:03:52or aren't coming here now.
00:03:55But what is it exactly that makes so many people believe?
00:04:03I do think looking upward makes sense.
00:04:06The universe is large.
00:04:08There are things out there we do not understand.
00:04:10There is probably intelligent life somewhere.
00:04:13People tend to forget that we're on a planet that's four and a half billion years old.
00:04:20The presence of our civilization in that vast scale of time, I mean, if I click my finger, it wouldn't
00:04:27even be fast enough to say this is the time of our civilization.
00:04:31And to think that we're the only ones in this vast period of time, to me, is absurd.
00:04:39Our galaxy, the Milky Way, has over 100 billion stars.
00:04:44And in our universe, we think there are more than 100 billion galaxies.
00:04:49So if every star had a planet with intelligent life, how many alien civilizations would we have?
00:04:56If you take us as the crown of creation or the top of evolution, we look at ourselves as the
00:05:03greatest, the biggest.
00:05:05We say how incredible, unique we are in the whole universe.
00:05:10We forgot to learn modesty.
00:05:14Each step that we take makes us a little bit less special.
00:05:18We used to think that we were the center of the universe as humans.
00:05:21And then we realized, oh, all right, well, that's not true.
00:05:24But we're the center of the galaxy.
00:05:25And like, well, all right, so we're like two-thirds of the way out in a spiral arm.
00:05:29And then, well, at least our sun, you know, with us now, the sun is actually in the middle and
00:05:35the earth goes around it.
00:05:36So earth isn't even the center of that system.
00:05:38And so the more that we learn, we sort of, you know, it's a very humbling science.
00:05:47When man first landed on the moon, our perspective on the universe changed forever.
00:05:53Listen, the eagle has landed.
00:05:59We aliens who happened to go down the ladder on July 20th, 1969, we aliens were certainly part of a
00:06:16magnificent race.
00:06:22I just don't think people have a grasp for what energy it takes to go from one star to another.
00:06:33This historic event raised the question, if humans can successfully navigate in space and explore other worlds,
00:06:41why couldn't beings from other parts of the universe have done the same?
00:06:46And might they have already come to earth?
00:06:49Hundreds or perhaps thousands of years ago?
00:06:55I think human past is more fantastic than we all believe.
00:07:00I have come to the idea that maybe extraterrestrials were on this planet.
00:07:11Kuwachi, Peru.
00:07:152,000 years ago, this ancient settlement served as the religious and cultural capital of the Nazca people.
00:07:25But sometime around 500 A.D., the Nazca mysteriously disappeared, leaving Kuwachi to fall into disarray.
00:07:371,400 years later, in 1910, anthropologist Aleš Hrlicka came to Kuwachi to study the ancient Nazca civilization.
00:07:48During a dig, he unearthed some of the most surprising and shocking artifacts he had ever seen.
00:08:00They were skulls with enormous, elongated craniums.
00:08:08Where did they come from?
00:08:10How did they get there?
00:08:12And were they human?
00:08:17In Peru, we find these weird, elongated skulls.
00:08:23And they're bizarre looking.
00:08:25I mean, and these people look like aliens.
00:08:34One may say, okay, aliens.
00:08:36But another aspect that we have to consider is that skull and cranial deformation,
00:08:44forming elongated heads, is a practice that's known throughout much of the ancient world.
00:08:51In 1870, the process of skull deformation was well chronicled by a German botanist and explorer,
00:08:58named George Schweinfurth.
00:09:01While exploring the African Congo, he came in contact with a tribe called the Monk Bitu.
00:09:07They routinely performed a ritual of cranial binding that allowed them to physically alter the shape of human skulls.
00:09:19They took infants' skulls and compressed them and bound them.
00:09:26And they forced the cranium out and elongated.
00:09:31And in many cases, they doubled the size.
00:09:36And a big question is, why was this being done?
00:09:41It may have been a way to distinguish the elite, perhaps, from the everyday people.
00:09:48It may have been a social stratification type of issue.
00:09:53Something that also appeals to me is that it may have been a way to express physically,
00:09:59and maybe try to achieve physically, greater levels of consciousness or higher levels of mental ability.
00:10:08In my opinion, they did this in order to mimic the gods.
00:10:16And those gods were physical beings, because if they were just a figment of our ancestors' imagination,
00:10:25I don't think that's a compelling enough reason to expose your children to such a ritual to achieve that type
00:10:35of look.
00:10:35And in my opinion, these people were misinterpreted flesh-and-blood space travelers.
00:10:42Some people have suggested aliens have elongated skulls,
00:10:46and apparently ancient peoples are mimicking those skulls.
00:10:51The old saying is that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
00:10:57Although there have been many images that attempt to depict what aliens might actually look like,
00:11:02one in particular has come to dominate the public perception.
00:11:07It, too, features an elongated cranium,
00:11:10and is associated with an extraterrestrial race that many refer to as the greys.
00:11:20In terms of entities, one very common description are the so-called greys.
00:11:26Three and a half, four feet tall, essentially humanoid,
00:11:30but very spindly with disproportionately large heads and huge black almond-shaped eyes.
00:11:37But would someone in a primitive society really want to replicate this look and deform their skull?
00:11:44Some archaeologists have a different perspective.
00:11:49They point to artistic self-expression as an explanation of these customs.
00:11:56There are all kinds of people that either worship the body or use the body as art,
00:12:02be it a tattoo or a piercing of some sort,
00:12:05or tribes that put things in their ears or in their lips to try to grow parts of their body.
00:12:12Some societies, we know, practice binding parts of the body,
00:12:16feet or heads, and try to make certain shapes.
00:12:18And this was done for whatever reason.
00:12:20We know today that this isn't usually the most healthy thing to do,
00:12:23but it doesn't mean people don't do it.
00:12:25People are always trying to change their body to make it look a certain way.
00:12:31Whatever the explanation may be for these rituals,
00:12:35they are not just found in Peru and the African Congo.
00:12:39Skull deformation is a global phenomenon.
00:12:44What's really strange is that this is found all over the world.
00:12:50And this is something that archaeologists cannot easily explain.
00:12:55Because for people on remote islands,
00:12:58for people in South America or Malta or in Africa,
00:13:02to suddenly independently do this cranial deformation like this seems incredible.
00:13:11I mean, this is something that had to be learned,
00:13:16something that was taught to them.
00:13:21We seem to have basic similarities,
00:13:25as if there was one civilization or at least one type of culture
00:13:30that was influencing people around the world.
00:13:36I find it more and more difficult to believe what I was taught as an undergraduate,
00:13:42that all these different cultures just coincidentally
00:13:46came up with the same concepts independently of each other.
00:13:55Is it possible that individual societies around the world
00:13:59were influenced by similar events?
00:14:02And were they imitating real beings who visited from other planets?
00:14:08Some of the most compelling images of an elongated cranium
00:14:11can be traced to ancient Egypt
00:14:14and the depictions of one of its most controversial pharaohs.
00:14:19Could it be that he, too, was mimicking the look of extraterrestrials?
00:14:24Or is there an even more outrageous explanation?
00:14:29Could he have been one of them?
00:14:41Egypt.
00:14:43Long before the ancient Egyptians built the pyramids
00:14:46or even settled along the Nile River.
00:14:50They spoke of an era called Tep-Zepi,
00:14:53or the beginning of time.
00:14:56According to legends,
00:14:58Tep-Zepi was when sky gods descended from the stars to Earth
00:15:02on flying boats
00:15:04and then turned mud and water into a new kingdom.
00:15:10The word god, according to the ancient Egyptian,
00:15:13is netheru.
00:15:15It means a being that came from the cosmos.
00:15:19They're very adamant about the fact
00:15:21that their gods had descended from the stars.
00:15:25They tell us that the god Osiris,
00:15:28who ruled with his consort and sister, the goddess Isis,
00:15:31they were star gods,
00:15:32and in fact they identified them very clearly.
00:15:35Osiris was identified as the constellation of Orion.
00:15:39Isis was identified as the god to the star Sirius,
00:15:42the brightest star in the sky.
00:15:45There's an interesting point about this,
00:15:47is that within the constellation of Orion
00:15:48is the so-called nursery of stars.
00:15:53The stars in our galaxy literally were born in that zone.
00:15:58And it's very peculiar that the ancient Egyptians insist
00:16:01that the birth of star gods are in this constellation.
00:16:06They truly believed,
00:16:07they were very adamant about this,
00:16:09that their origins is in the sky.
00:16:17Something that we see around the world
00:16:20with ancient civilizations
00:16:21is that they had incredible knowledge
00:16:24of the stars, of the planets,
00:16:27of the heavenly motions.
00:16:29The average person in the ancient world
00:16:31had way more knowledge
00:16:33of what's going on in the skies
00:16:35than a lot of well-educated people today.
00:16:44As ancient Egypt grew into a great civilization,
00:16:48its citizens believed their pharaohs
00:16:50were sons of Osiris,
00:16:52and thus, living gods.
00:16:55Artwork and wall carvings depicted them
00:16:57as perfect humans.
00:16:59And while the people worshipped many different gods,
00:17:02the pharaoh stood above them all.
00:17:05This basic Egyptian religious belief
00:17:08remained in force for nearly a thousand years
00:17:11until one pharaoh changed everything.
00:17:15Who was this heretic?
00:17:19His name was Akhenaten,
00:17:22and in every surviving depiction,
00:17:24he is shown with an elongated skull.
00:17:28Who was he?
00:17:30According to Egyptian mythology,
00:17:32he too was descended from the gods
00:17:35who arrived on earth at the time of Tempsepi.
00:17:38But why do so many still believe
00:17:41he actually came from the stars?
00:17:45In 1352 BC,
00:17:48Akhenaten ascended to the throne
00:17:50as the 10th pharaoh of the 18th dynasty.
00:17:53Almost immediately,
00:17:55he instituted a series of radical religious changes,
00:17:59including a ban on references to multiple gods.
00:18:05It's a rather strange thing
00:18:06that he would want to do that in one sweep,
00:18:09but he ordered all the iconography
00:18:11of previous gods to be removed.
00:18:13He only allowed one emblem,
00:18:15which was the sun emblem,
00:18:17literally a sun disk,
00:18:18with curious arms or rays pouring down.
00:18:22Why did he do this?
00:18:24Because according to his writings
00:18:27and his poems that were written about him later on,
00:18:31he was visited by one of those beings
00:18:36that descended from the sky
00:18:38who told Akhenaten,
00:18:40this is the way,
00:18:43I am your god.
00:18:45This sun god was known as Aten.
00:18:49Akhenaten claimed to be a direct descendant of Aten.
00:18:54Akhenaten, like any other pharaoh,
00:18:57regarded himself to be divine.
00:19:01He was a god.
00:19:02Not only himself believed himself to be a god,
00:19:04but the whole nation saw him as a god.
00:19:06Now, the definition of god
00:19:09is that he was a descendant
00:19:12from these celestial beings.
00:19:17During his fourth year as pharaoh,
00:19:20Akhenaten ordered the construction
00:19:22of a new capital city.
00:19:23He called it Amarna
00:19:25and dedicated it to the sun.
00:19:30Akhenaten would spend the next ten years here,
00:19:33during which time,
00:19:35he instituted changes
00:19:36in both art and culture,
00:19:38including how he himself
00:19:40would be publicly depicted.
00:19:44In the Egyptian iconography,
00:19:46the Egyptian pharaohs
00:19:47are depicted
00:19:48as these triangular-shaped beings,
00:19:50these broad, strong shoulders
00:19:52and these very skinny waists.
00:19:53Now, we look at leaders today
00:19:55and we know that most leaders
00:19:57don't have broad shoulders
00:19:58and skinny waists.
00:19:59But it was important
00:20:01to depict the Egyptian kings
00:20:02as having broad shoulders
00:20:04and skinny waists,
00:20:05very, you know,
00:20:06the epitome
00:20:06of what a king
00:20:08ought to look like.
00:20:11That's exactly the opposite
00:20:12of Akhenaten.
00:20:13He shows himself,
00:20:14perhaps, as he really is,
00:20:17a rather strange look.
00:20:19He has a very mystical look.
00:20:27If we take Akhenaten's statues,
00:20:30for instance,
00:20:31literally,
00:20:31he was a very strange-looking character.
00:20:34sort of combined,
00:20:36some people would say,
00:20:37feminine aspects
00:20:39with masculine aspects,
00:20:41may have had
00:20:42an elongated skull.
00:20:45The change in royal iconography
00:20:48of Akhenaten
00:20:48showed him
00:20:49as he probably really was,
00:20:51with a misshapen head,
00:20:53with a potbelly,
00:20:54with a sunken chest,
00:20:57as opposed to the
00:20:58idealized iconography
00:21:00of traditional Egyptian artists
00:21:03that show this big,
00:21:05strong pharaoh.
00:21:12Akhenaten's wife,
00:21:13Queen Nefertiti,
00:21:14and their children
00:21:15were also depicted
00:21:17as having elongated skulls.
00:21:19So why were Akhenaten's
00:21:21and Nefertiti's heads deformed?
00:21:24Did they suffer
00:21:25from a genetic abnormality,
00:21:27or did they deliberately
00:21:29alter their shape?
00:21:30Some believe
00:21:32there could be yet
00:21:32another explanation
00:21:34behind their strange,
00:21:35otherworldly appearance.
00:21:40They look like
00:21:42they're different
00:21:44than other human beings.
00:21:48Is it possible
00:21:49that Akhenaten
00:21:51might have been
00:21:52an extraterrestrial hybrid?
00:21:59Ancient alien enthusiasts
00:22:01look at pharaoh Akhenaten
00:22:03of Egypt
00:22:03and say,
00:22:04ah, look at that long head.
00:22:06That looks like
00:22:07an alien gray.
00:22:08That looks like
00:22:08some kind of something
00:22:09that's non-human
00:22:10or some hybrid
00:22:11between something else
00:22:12and something human.
00:22:13Must be evidence
00:22:14of alien interference,
00:22:16alien reproduction
00:22:17with humans,
00:22:18something like that.
00:22:19I've been to Egypt
00:22:20and one of the most
00:22:22stunning things
00:22:23is about seeing
00:22:23the archaeological remains
00:22:25of ancient Egypt
00:22:26is that one unique pharaoh,
00:22:29Akhenaten.
00:22:30I mean,
00:22:31he's got a very narrow,
00:22:33pointy face,
00:22:34high cheekbones,
00:22:35and a very elongated cranium.
00:22:39The idea
00:22:40that they were either
00:22:41looking like extraterrestrials
00:22:44or perhaps
00:22:44had extraterrestrial DNA
00:22:47in them
00:22:48is a credible idea.
00:22:53Akhenaten ruled
00:22:55for 17 years.
00:22:57After his reign,
00:22:59Amarna was abandoned
00:23:00and temples to the sun
00:23:01were destroyed.
00:23:03Images of Akhenaten
00:23:05were deliberately defaced.
00:23:08Ancient Egypt
00:23:09swiftly returned
00:23:09to its old ways,
00:23:11worshipping many gods.
00:23:13Was this a rejection
00:23:15of Akhenaten's radical
00:23:16religious belief system
00:23:18or a cover-up
00:23:19of his alien identity?
00:23:25There's been a lot of theories
00:23:26about why.
00:23:29If, if,
00:23:30I mean,
00:23:30the most extreme
00:23:31is that he somehow
00:23:32had some sort of
00:23:32extraterrestrial connection.
00:23:34If one accepts
00:23:36that conclusion,
00:23:37then it would explain
00:23:39why he was literally
00:23:40put off the reign
00:23:42and some say
00:23:43put to death.
00:23:47Some Egyptologists believe
00:23:49Akhenaten was forced
00:23:50to abdicate
00:23:51and flee from Egypt
00:23:53with a group
00:23:53of his loyal followers.
00:23:56In 1907,
00:23:58the actual body
00:23:59of Akhenaten
00:24:00was discovered
00:24:01in Egypt's
00:24:02Valley of the Kings
00:24:03by a British archaeologist
00:24:05named Edward Ayrton.
00:24:08After unearthing
00:24:09Akhenaten's mummified remains,
00:24:11he was able to confirm
00:24:13that indeed
00:24:14the ancient pharaoh's skull
00:24:15was misshapen
00:24:17and elongated.
00:24:21Some scholars argue
00:24:22that he suffered
00:24:22from some kind
00:24:23of physical abnormality.
00:24:24He suffered
00:24:25from a disorder
00:24:26that caused his face
00:24:27to appear to be long,
00:24:28or his head
00:24:29actually was longer.
00:24:30I think with Akhenaten
00:24:31we're dealing
00:24:32with a physical deformation
00:24:33that wasn't corrected
00:24:34by the royal artist.
00:24:36They just depicted him
00:24:37as he was,
00:24:38pot belly,
00:24:38sunken chest,
00:24:39long head.
00:24:42Akhenaten was succeeded
00:24:43by his son,
00:24:44Tutankhamen,
00:24:45who became the most
00:24:46renowned pharaoh
00:24:47of all time.
00:24:49When his tomb
00:24:50was discovered
00:24:51in 1922
00:24:52by Howard Carter,
00:24:54Tutankhamen
00:24:55was also found
00:24:56to have
00:24:56an elongated skull.
00:24:59Could he have inherited
00:25:00alien genes
00:25:01from his father?
00:25:07Today,
00:25:08much of Akhenaten's life
00:25:09still remains
00:25:10a mystery.
00:25:12Did he really change
00:25:14Egypt's entire belief system
00:25:16because,
00:25:16as some suggest,
00:25:18he was a celestial being?
00:25:20If that's true,
00:25:22might there be evidence
00:25:23of similar entities
00:25:25coming to Earth?
00:25:27Perhaps more clues
00:25:28can be found
00:25:29thousands of miles away,
00:25:31on the other side
00:25:33of the African continent.
00:25:41Mali,
00:25:42in northwest Africa.
00:25:44Deep in a remote valley
00:25:46live the Dogon people,
00:25:48who are the descendants
00:25:49of a nomadic tribe
00:25:50that settled here
00:25:51around 1000 A.D.
00:25:54Just like Akhenaten's followers,
00:25:57the Dogon
00:25:58had been forced
00:25:58to leave Egypt
00:25:59because of religious persecution.
00:26:03The Dogon claim
00:26:05a very long
00:26:06and ancient tradition
00:26:07and,
00:26:08in my opinion,
00:26:09maintain
00:26:10some of the
00:26:11ancient Egyptian
00:26:12traditions
00:26:14and myths
00:26:15that have been carried on
00:26:16right into the present age.
00:26:20Parts of ancient Egypt
00:26:22may not have died.
00:26:23They were carried on
00:26:25to this day
00:26:26among the Dogon.
00:26:30But what exactly
00:26:32are their beliefs?
00:26:34Dogon mythology
00:26:35holds
00:26:36that the sky god
00:26:37Amma
00:26:38created the first
00:26:39living creature
00:26:40known as Namo.
00:26:42The legend also says
00:26:44that shortly
00:26:45after his creation,
00:26:46Namo
00:26:47multiplied
00:26:48into several parts,
00:26:49one of which
00:26:50rebelled
00:26:51against Amma.
00:26:53Amma responded
00:26:54by destroying him
00:26:55and scattering his ashes
00:26:57throughout the world.
00:27:01According to the Dogon myths,
00:27:04a god gave them
00:27:05this knowledge.
00:27:06He descended
00:27:07from the sky
00:27:08in an ark
00:27:09surfing on fire
00:27:10and landed
00:27:11in a storm.
00:27:16Still today,
00:27:18Dogon celebrates
00:27:19a festival
00:27:21in the honor
00:27:22of Namo
00:27:23and that
00:27:24visitation
00:27:25that occurred
00:27:26in the remote past.
00:27:28How do we know this?
00:27:31For this festival,
00:27:33they have
00:27:33wooden masks
00:27:35that date back
00:27:37to a very
00:27:38long time ago
00:27:40when this festival
00:27:42began.
00:27:49Dogon masks
00:27:50tell the mystic stories
00:27:51of their ancestors.
00:27:53This is a sculpture
00:27:54of the creator.
00:27:55They call him Amma.
00:27:58He's embracing
00:27:59the universe.
00:28:01This is how
00:28:02they pass on
00:28:03information
00:28:03from generation
00:28:04to generation
00:28:05by stories
00:28:06carved in masks.
00:28:17But could
00:28:18Namo
00:28:19have been
00:28:19a real person?
00:28:21Some see
00:28:22eerie similarities
00:28:23between the
00:28:24Dogon's legend
00:28:25and the story
00:28:26of the mysterious
00:28:27pharaoh Akhenaten.
00:28:30Akhenaten
00:28:31believed he was
00:28:31directly descended
00:28:32from the sun god
00:28:33Aten.
00:28:35Namo
00:28:35was said to have
00:28:36been created
00:28:37by the sky
00:28:37deity
00:28:38Amma.
00:28:39Is it a coincidence
00:28:41that both cultures,
00:28:43although thousands
00:28:44of miles apart,
00:28:46shared mythical tales
00:28:47of beings
00:28:47coming from the skies?
00:28:49And both Namo
00:28:51and Akhenaten
00:28:52were depicted
00:28:53with elongated heads?
00:28:55Is it possible
00:28:57that these legends
00:28:58were based
00:28:58on real events?
00:29:05The Dogon
00:29:06dwell in the
00:29:06central plateau
00:29:07region
00:29:07of Banyagara.
00:29:10Their knowledge
00:29:11is centuries old
00:29:12and their priests
00:29:13have been sharing
00:29:13it with chosen
00:29:14individuals only.
00:29:19In the 1920s,
00:29:20French anthropologist
00:29:22Griel
00:29:22and ethnologist
00:29:24Dieterlen
00:29:24visited the tribe
00:29:26and were invited
00:29:26to share their secrets.
00:29:31But one secret
00:29:33stood out.
00:29:34The Dogon
00:29:35claimed that
00:29:36their god
00:29:37Amma
00:29:37came from
00:29:38a specific star
00:29:39in the Sirius
00:29:40constellation,
00:29:41the same place
00:29:43where the ancient
00:29:44Egyptians believed
00:29:45their god
00:29:45Osiris was born.
00:29:48This star,
00:29:49which modern astronomers
00:29:51refer to as
00:29:51Sirius B,
00:29:53the Dogon
00:29:54called Potolo.
00:29:56But what baffles
00:29:57experts
00:29:57is that the star
00:29:59is so far from Earth
00:30:00it's impossible
00:30:01to see
00:30:02with the naked eye.
00:30:06I was very intrigued
00:30:07by this, by the way.
00:30:07I mean,
00:30:08the Dogons
00:30:10should not have known
00:30:11about the existence
00:30:11of this star.
00:30:13Sirius is the second
00:30:14nearest star
00:30:15from our solar system.
00:30:16It's eight light years
00:30:18away.
00:30:19In fact,
00:30:19it's not even visible
00:30:20with standard telescopes.
00:30:22It was first seen,
00:30:24literally seen,
00:30:25and photographed
00:30:25in the 1970s.
00:30:28Modern science
00:30:29has corroborated
00:30:31that Sirius B
00:30:32does indeed exist.
00:30:34problem is,
00:30:36the Dogon knew about this
00:30:38before modern science
00:30:41corroborated it.
00:30:42I mean,
00:30:43that's spooky.
00:30:48Measurements taken
00:30:49with the Hubble telescope
00:30:50in 2003
00:30:51have confirmed
00:30:53that Sirius B
00:30:54is what's known
00:30:55as a white dwarf,
00:30:57or a partially burnt-out star
00:30:59with extremely dense mass.
00:31:02Although it is smaller
00:31:04in size than Earth,
00:31:05it's estimated to weigh
00:31:07eight times as much
00:31:08as our sun.
00:31:10But how did the Dogon
00:31:12acquire this ancient
00:31:13knowledge of astronomy
00:31:14that seems to be
00:31:16centuries more advanced
00:31:17than that of modern science?
00:31:21The mystery is,
00:31:22how did this story
00:31:24get passed on
00:31:24down generations?
00:31:26If the story came
00:31:27from a time
00:31:28before astronomers knew
00:31:29there was a companion star
00:31:30to Sirius,
00:31:31which can't be seen
00:31:32with the human eye.
00:31:35This is the Dogon symbol
00:31:36for Sirius.
00:31:38When you move it around,
00:31:39you can see an orbit
00:31:40around the center
00:31:41marked by Sirius A.
00:31:44Sirius B circles around it,
00:31:46so it is a circular system.
00:31:48This sign is practically
00:31:49an astronomical model
00:31:51that the Dogon
00:31:52could not have invented
00:31:53because only Sirius A
00:31:55is visible.
00:31:57Sirius B and C
00:31:58are invisible.
00:32:00However,
00:32:01their description
00:32:01of the orbit
00:32:02is correct.
00:32:04One assumption
00:32:05is that this god,
00:32:06Namo,
00:32:07who brought them
00:32:08this knowledge,
00:32:09could have been
00:32:10an extraterrestrial
00:32:11intelligence.
00:32:14Since the early
00:32:1520th century,
00:32:17the tribe
00:32:17has been routinely
00:32:18studied and researched
00:32:20by anthropologists.
00:32:22This has led
00:32:23many modern historians
00:32:24to claim that the Dogon
00:32:26must have learned
00:32:27about astronomy
00:32:28from Westerners.
00:32:31The Dogon mythology
00:32:33is so fluid
00:32:33that when science
00:32:35confirmed something
00:32:36that they might have
00:32:38believed in antiquity,
00:32:39it might have just
00:32:40been sure coincidence,
00:32:41or it could have been
00:32:42a conflation.
00:32:43That is,
00:32:44they heard,
00:32:44because it's an oral culture
00:32:45and because the mythology
00:32:47is so fluid,
00:32:48they heard something
00:32:49that someone said
00:32:50about this star
00:32:51in relation to another star,
00:32:52and they just grafted that
00:32:54into their mythology.
00:32:55They grafted that
00:32:56into their religion.
00:32:57And then when some reporter,
00:32:58some subsequent reporter,
00:32:59comes along and says,
00:33:00what do you believe?
00:33:01They say,
00:33:02well, we've thought this
00:33:03for millions of years.
00:33:04When critics suggest
00:33:06that this knowledge
00:33:07was given to them
00:33:08by modern ethnologists,
00:33:10that's simply incorrect,
00:33:11because we know
00:33:12that this story
00:33:14goes back
00:33:15hundreds of years
00:33:17earlier
00:33:19than any modern ethnologist
00:33:21ever went there.
00:33:24If it were ever proven
00:33:26that all this information
00:33:27is exactly correct,
00:33:29including the parts
00:33:30that are still being studied
00:33:31by astronomers,
00:33:32this would mean
00:33:33that the Earth
00:33:33had visitors
00:33:34from outer space
00:33:35in prehistoric times.
00:33:39Either they inherited
00:33:40that knowledge,
00:33:41and the question is
00:33:42from where?
00:33:42From a previous civilization,
00:33:44or from some sort
00:33:45of extraterrestrial civilization,
00:33:47or it's a coincidence.
00:33:48In my view,
00:33:49it is not a coincidence.
00:33:52If the Dogon people
00:33:54really possessed
00:33:55this advanced
00:33:56astronomical knowledge,
00:33:58were there legends
00:33:59based on real events?
00:34:02The ancient Egyptians
00:34:04and Dogon
00:34:05were far from alone
00:34:06in their belief
00:34:07in gods
00:34:07or mystical beings
00:34:09that came from the sky.
00:34:13Is there an explanation
00:34:15for similar myths
00:34:16shared by ancient cultures
00:34:18all around the world?
00:34:20And what does that reveal
00:34:22as to who these visitors
00:34:23may be?
00:34:25Perhaps the answer
00:34:26can be found
00:34:27not in northern Africa,
00:34:29but here,
00:34:30in the rocks and canyons
00:34:33of the American Southwest.
00:34:4530 miles south
00:34:46of Gallup, New Mexico
00:34:48lies the Pueblo
00:34:49of Zuni.
00:34:55Sheltered from
00:34:55the desolate
00:34:56high plains,
00:34:57this adobe city
00:34:58is home
00:34:59to the Zuni Indians,
00:35:00one of the oldest
00:35:01indigenous tribes
00:35:02in North America.
00:35:05They have inhabited
00:35:06this land
00:35:07for almost 2,000 years
00:35:09and have protected
00:35:10their secrets
00:35:11even longer.
00:35:15The Zuni
00:35:16are a very interesting
00:35:17culture in that
00:35:18they're one of the
00:35:19few cultures
00:35:19that really have not
00:35:20opened up
00:35:21to the rest of the world
00:35:22about their
00:35:23star knowledge traditions.
00:35:25Most of this type
00:35:26of information
00:35:27is very closely held
00:35:28by the natives.
00:35:30And I really find
00:35:32it very interesting
00:35:33intriguing that
00:35:34this is the time
00:35:35period in history
00:35:36where now we're
00:35:37starting to learn
00:35:37more and more
00:35:38about their star
00:35:39knowledge.
00:35:44Much of the
00:35:45Zuni people's
00:35:46history is etched
00:35:47in the rocks
00:35:48in the New Mexico
00:35:49desert.
00:35:56tribal elder Clifford
00:35:58Mahouti and
00:35:59archaeologist Dan
00:36:00Simplicio have
00:36:02studied the Zuni's
00:36:03secret history
00:36:04first hand.
00:36:05They've collected
00:36:06stories passed down
00:36:07through generations
00:36:08that are rooted in
00:36:10the belief that the
00:36:11tribe's creators and
00:36:12protectors are
00:36:14supernatural beings
00:36:15from the sky.
00:36:17This one's kind of
00:36:18interesting here.
00:36:19I would imagine
00:36:20it was created
00:36:22in the last century
00:36:23but on this design
00:36:25you can see
00:36:26the star figure.
00:36:28Celestial images
00:36:29oftentimes are depicted
00:36:31in a lot of our
00:36:32cultural petroglyphs
00:36:33and this is one of them
00:36:35where it depicts
00:36:35the star.
00:36:36It could be
00:36:37the supernova
00:36:39of the crab nebula.
00:36:42Our Zuni mythology
00:36:44in the prayer system
00:36:46and the ritualistic
00:36:49protocols talk about
00:36:50these people that
00:36:51came over here
00:36:52and told us how to
00:36:53actually live our lives
00:36:55as being sky people.
00:37:01If you listen to a lot
00:37:03of religious chants
00:37:04and songs and prayers
00:37:06that's all they talk
00:37:07about.
00:37:07They're talking about
00:37:08space, they're talking
00:37:09about out there
00:37:10in the universe
00:37:11where they came from
00:37:12so they depicted
00:37:13on that rock wall
00:37:14here but the actual
00:37:16meaning of it
00:37:17is somewhere
00:37:17more profound
00:37:18and more complex
00:37:20than that.
00:37:23These drawings
00:37:24are thought to have
00:37:25been created
00:37:26around 1200 B.C.
00:37:28Yet they appear
00:37:29to depict
00:37:29modern space travelers
00:37:30and their vehicles.
00:37:35If you move back
00:37:37a little bit
00:37:37you can see
00:37:38another figure here
00:37:41it has a dome
00:37:42as eyes
00:37:45there's something
00:37:46coming down
00:37:47like a nose
00:37:48through the nose
00:37:49but it kind of
00:37:50flares out.
00:37:51I think it was
00:37:52something to do
00:37:52with the ancient ones
00:37:53when they saw something
00:37:56they took as much
00:37:57description of it
00:37:58to put it on there.
00:37:59Of course it's not
00:38:00going to be exactly
00:38:00what they saw
00:38:01but that's as best
00:38:03as they can do
00:38:04for something
00:38:04that they saw.
00:38:06With all petroglyphs
00:38:08and things like that
00:38:09I mean they're
00:38:10up to interpretation
00:38:11sometimes they're
00:38:13just doodlings
00:38:14of people
00:38:15but other times
00:38:16they may well be
00:38:17actual descriptions
00:38:19and depictions
00:38:20of some kind of
00:38:22god from outer space
00:38:24some ancient astronaut
00:38:26and when you go around
00:38:27say like the Zuni
00:38:28Pueblo
00:38:29I mean that's
00:38:30what they'll tell you
00:38:30those petroglyphs
00:38:31aren't.
00:38:32Even the Zunis
00:38:34themselves
00:38:34call them
00:38:35the spacemen.
00:38:38This one seems to have
00:38:40two legs
00:38:41coming out
00:38:41like that
00:38:42and it has
00:38:42a broad
00:38:44diamond-shaped body
00:38:46there probably
00:38:47was a bitter head
00:38:48that chipped off
00:38:49here
00:38:50that's
00:38:51very different
00:38:52looking than
00:38:53humans are.
00:38:55Now usually
00:38:56they're called
00:38:56UFOs
00:38:57but in the Zuni
00:38:59way
00:38:59we've always been
00:39:01taught that
00:39:01they're the keepers
00:39:02of the upper world
00:39:04which means
00:39:04space
00:39:05now they're sky people
00:39:07beings that are
00:39:08of the extraterrestrial
00:39:10origin
00:39:11and this is still
00:39:13within our mythology
00:39:14and our religious
00:39:15practices today.
00:39:22Like most Indian
00:39:23tribes
00:39:24the Zunis
00:39:25call these sky people
00:39:26Kachinas
00:39:28according to the
00:39:29Zunis creation story
00:39:30the Kachina gods
00:39:32came down from
00:39:33the heavens
00:39:34to lead the Zunis
00:39:35to earth
00:39:35through a special
00:39:36portal.
00:39:40The Zipa
00:39:41Poo
00:39:42that's the entrance
00:39:43to the fourth world
00:39:44or the underworld
00:39:46and that's a
00:39:47representation
00:39:48of where the
00:39:49Kachinas
00:39:49come and go
00:39:51and so
00:39:52according to
00:39:53the mythologies
00:39:54the Zunis
00:39:55were brought
00:39:56forth into
00:39:57the world
00:39:58of light
00:39:58which is
00:39:59where we are
00:40:00at today
00:40:00by what I would
00:40:01interpret as
00:40:02extraterrestrial beings
00:40:04from the universe.
00:40:11Every year
00:40:13the Zunis
00:40:13participate in a
00:40:14ceremony known as
00:40:15the Shilako festival.
00:40:17Dressed in
00:40:18traditional costumes
00:40:19to represent
00:40:20the Kachinas
00:40:21the Indians
00:40:22celebrate the
00:40:23arrival of the
00:40:23gods on earth.
00:40:28This is a figurine
00:40:30of Kachina gods
00:40:31and these guys
00:40:33are some gods
00:40:34from the sky
00:40:34who came down
00:40:35they wear
00:40:36weird helmets.
00:40:38This one has
00:40:39a helmet
00:40:41as a head
00:40:42and if you look
00:40:43at the whole
00:40:44body of it
00:40:46it's as if
00:40:48it wears
00:40:48some type
00:40:49of a suit.
00:40:50This one here
00:40:51also has
00:40:53the helmet
00:40:53and the visor.
00:40:55For the Pueblo
00:40:56Indians
00:40:57like the Zunis
00:40:58these are
00:40:59their sky gods
00:41:00that every year
00:41:01they have
00:41:01special ceremonies
00:41:02people put on
00:41:03these special
00:41:04costumes and masks
00:41:05to reenact
00:41:06the coming
00:41:07of the gods.
00:41:08They really look
00:41:10like ancient
00:41:11astronauts.
00:41:19If you look
00:41:20at the poetry
00:41:21and the legends
00:41:22and the stories
00:41:22from American
00:41:24Indian tribes
00:41:25in the southwest
00:41:26they have the
00:41:28legend of the
00:41:29star people.
00:41:30The star people
00:41:31came to earth
00:41:32and seeded
00:41:33planet earth
00:41:34and they came
00:41:35on flying ships.
00:41:37If you speak
00:41:38to the elders
00:41:39they will tell you
00:41:40that a lot of us
00:41:41believe in the
00:41:41existence of
00:41:42extraterrestrials.
00:41:43These are
00:41:44timeless traditions
00:41:45that have been
00:41:46passed on
00:41:46through the
00:41:47centuries from
00:41:48clan to clan
00:41:49from family to
00:41:50family from
00:41:51family member
00:41:52to family member
00:41:53and it is an
00:41:54oral tradition.
00:41:55Native peoples
00:41:56did not have
00:41:58the written word
00:41:59they had the
00:41:59spoken word
00:42:00and culturally
00:42:01the spoken word
00:42:02is still a
00:42:03significant component
00:42:04of their daily
00:42:05lives and the
00:42:06ability to
00:42:07pass down
00:42:08the truth.
00:42:10I remember
00:42:11my grandparents
00:42:12talking about
00:42:13a craft
00:42:14that flew
00:42:15and had
00:42:16actually crash
00:42:17landed on
00:42:17one of the
00:42:18mesas east of
00:42:20here.
00:42:22There's no
00:42:23interpretation of
00:42:24what an aircraft
00:42:25is so the
00:42:27closest thing
00:42:27that they could
00:42:28interpret as
00:42:29anything capable
00:42:31of flight is a
00:42:31bird or our
00:42:33mass kachina
00:42:34dancers.
00:42:36we're very
00:42:37very superstitious
00:42:38people.
00:42:39It's always been
00:42:40in the history
00:42:41of Zuni
00:42:42that they have
00:42:43always been here
00:42:44even right here
00:42:45where we're
00:42:46sitting right now
00:42:47but you just
00:42:48don't see them
00:42:48they're in a
00:42:49different frequency
00:42:49and those are
00:42:51very very sacred
00:42:52and those are
00:42:53very very secret
00:42:54they're out there
00:42:55somewhere.
00:43:01for those who
00:43:03believe that
00:43:03ancient astronauts
00:43:04came to earth
00:43:05thousands of
00:43:06years ago
00:43:07prehistoric artwork
00:43:08provides more
00:43:09clues in what
00:43:10they claim is a
00:43:11growing body of
00:43:12evidence
00:43:13from wall carvings
00:43:15and statues
00:43:16in ancient
00:43:17Egypt
00:43:17to tribal
00:43:19traditions and
00:43:20exotic masks
00:43:21in West Africa
00:43:22to petroglyphs
00:43:24in the American
00:43:25Southwest
00:43:25all thousands
00:43:28of years old
00:43:29they seem to
00:43:30recount similar
00:43:31stories of
00:43:32visitors from
00:43:33the skies.
00:43:34Could the
00:43:35legends of
00:43:36alien beings
00:43:37visiting earth
00:43:38thousands of
00:43:39years ago
00:43:40have inspired
00:43:41more traditional
00:43:43beliefs?
00:43:52celestial beings
00:43:53coming down
00:43:54to earth
00:43:56gods
00:43:57descending
00:43:58from the sky
00:43:59can these
00:44:00events only
00:44:01be found
00:44:02in the ancient
00:44:02legends of
00:44:03the Zuni?
00:44:04Do similar
00:44:05accounts exist
00:44:06in other
00:44:06cultures
00:44:07and other
00:44:08religions
00:44:08across the
00:44:09world?
00:44:10And if so
00:44:11what is the
00:44:13explanation?
00:44:15We have to
00:44:16remind ourselves
00:44:16that our
00:44:17ancestors
00:44:18were highly
00:44:19intelligent
00:44:20however
00:44:21their technological
00:44:22frame of
00:44:23reference
00:44:24was different
00:44:25than our
00:44:26technological
00:44:27frame of
00:44:27reference
00:44:28so they
00:44:29didn't have
00:44:30the vocabulary
00:44:31with which
00:44:32to describe
00:44:33or with
00:44:34which to
00:44:34name
00:44:35certain
00:44:36things that
00:44:37they saw
00:44:37so what
00:44:38did they do?
00:44:39They used
00:44:40words
00:44:41that they
00:44:42were familiar
00:44:43with in
00:44:44their time
00:44:44and so
00:44:45they tried
00:44:46to describe
00:44:47whatever they
00:44:48witnessed
00:44:49to the best
00:44:50of their
00:44:50abilities
00:44:51with their
00:44:52vocabulary
00:44:58Ancient
00:44:59China
00:44:59also shared
00:45:01some of the
00:45:01same beliefs
00:45:02that can be
00:45:02found in
00:45:03Egyptian,
00:45:04Native American
00:45:05and Dogon
00:45:06legends
00:45:06that deities
00:45:08arrived from
00:45:09the stars
00:45:10According to
00:45:12Chinese mythology
00:45:13dating back
00:45:13to 3000
00:45:14BC
00:45:15when the
00:45:16god named
00:45:17Wang Di
00:45:17was born
00:45:18there was
00:45:19a radiance
00:45:20from the
00:45:20great star
00:45:21Qi
00:45:25Wang Di
00:45:26would later
00:45:27emerge from
00:45:27the belly
00:45:28of a fire
00:45:28breathing dragon
00:45:29to become
00:45:30China's
00:45:31first emperor
00:45:32the origins
00:45:34of the Han
00:45:34Chinese people
00:45:35start with
00:45:36a story
00:45:36of a great
00:45:37god
00:45:37looking down
00:45:39with empathy
00:45:40here were
00:45:42people in
00:45:42poverty
00:45:43in a beautiful
00:45:44rich country
00:45:46the landscape
00:45:47profound
00:45:47but the people
00:45:48were suffering
00:45:50he took pity
00:45:51and decided
00:45:52to come down
00:45:59Wang Di
00:46:00arrived
00:46:01on planet
00:46:02earth
00:46:03in a
00:46:04flying
00:46:04dragon
00:46:06he had
00:46:08the power
00:46:08of flight
00:46:09Wang Di
00:46:10could be
00:46:11anywhere
00:46:12within
00:46:13minutes
00:46:14and he
00:46:15usually
00:46:15accomplished
00:46:16this by
00:46:16hopping on
00:46:18his dragon
00:46:19and flying
00:46:20somewhere
00:46:24now this
00:46:25divine
00:46:26energy
00:46:27becomes human
00:46:27and is a
00:46:29great leader
00:46:29the yellow
00:46:30emperor
00:46:30who rules
00:46:32and unites
00:46:32the people
00:46:33and there is
00:46:34a period
00:46:34of great
00:46:34prosperity
00:46:35until his
00:46:36work is done
00:46:37Wang Di
00:46:38brought order
00:46:39to the chaos
00:46:40creating
00:46:41China's
00:46:42first empire
00:46:43he is seen
00:46:45as a cultural
00:46:45hero
00:46:46and is credited
00:46:47with the invention
00:46:48of the compass
00:46:50acupuncture
00:46:51and the
00:46:52standardization
00:46:52of Chinese
00:46:53writing
00:46:55one of his
00:46:55greatest legacies
00:46:56is the great
00:46:57wall of China
00:46:59when the land
00:47:01is prosperous
00:47:01he decides
00:47:02it's time
00:47:03to go
00:47:03and the great
00:47:05yellow dragon
00:47:05comes back
00:47:06and he gets
00:47:07back into the
00:47:07belly of the
00:47:08dragon and flies
00:47:09off forever
00:47:12now
00:47:13were these dragons
00:47:16truly dragons
00:47:18in a
00:47:19biological nature
00:47:23or
00:47:24were they
00:47:25misinterpreted
00:47:27types of
00:47:28machines
00:47:28because as we
00:47:30all know
00:47:30dragons are
00:47:32always correlated
00:47:33with spewing
00:47:35fire
00:47:35and a lot
00:47:36of smoke
00:47:38whenever we
00:47:39see a modern
00:47:40rocket take
00:47:40off
00:47:41there's all
00:47:41this smoke
00:47:42and sometimes
00:47:43the smoke
00:47:44is yellow
00:47:44and sometimes
00:47:45it's red
00:47:46so it's very
00:47:47bizarre how
00:47:48we have
00:47:48these correlations
00:47:50between the
00:47:51ancient times
00:47:51and modern
00:47:53times today
00:47:54mythology
00:47:55is the effort
00:47:56to grasp
00:47:57what we
00:47:58can't grasp
00:47:58to understand
00:47:59what is beyond
00:48:00us
00:48:00in the eastern
00:48:01teachings
00:48:02the dragons
00:48:02very often
00:48:03carry
00:48:04people
00:48:04sometimes
00:48:05on their
00:48:06back
00:48:06sometimes
00:48:07inside
00:48:07their bellies
00:48:08so if we
00:48:09think of them
00:48:09as a poet's
00:48:10effort to explain
00:48:11a vehicle
00:48:12that was strange
00:48:13to them
00:48:13well those
00:48:14sound like
00:48:15flying saucers
00:48:16so it might
00:48:17just be a
00:48:17problem of
00:48:18translation
00:48:18because after
00:48:19all it's just
00:48:19a word
00:48:20it's trying to
00:48:20describe something
00:48:21that's very
00:48:21difficult to
00:48:22grasp
00:48:274,000 miles
00:48:29west of
00:48:29China
00:48:30another tale
00:48:31of celestial
00:48:32beings
00:48:32influencing
00:48:33civilization
00:48:34can be
00:48:34found
00:48:35this time
00:48:36in what
00:48:37is now
00:48:37modern day
00:48:38Iraq
00:48:40the Babylonian
00:48:41legend
00:48:42of Enuma
00:48:42Alish
00:48:43dates back
00:48:44to the
00:48:447th century
00:48:45BC
00:48:45the text
00:48:47was first
00:48:48discovered
00:48:48in 1849
00:48:50by British
00:48:51archaeologist
00:48:52Sir Austin Henry
00:48:53Layard
00:48:53while searching
00:48:54the ruins
00:48:55of the library
00:48:56of Ashurbanipal
00:48:57in Nineveh
00:48:58the story
00:48:59tells of how
00:49:00the first
00:49:01humans were
00:49:01created
00:49:02by an
00:49:02extraterrestrial
00:49:03race
00:49:04known as
00:49:05the Anunnaki
00:49:13in the ancient
00:49:14texts
00:49:15of Sumeria
00:49:16we have
00:49:18descriptions
00:49:19of these
00:49:21beings
00:49:22descending
00:49:23from the sky
00:49:24called
00:49:25the Anunnaki
00:49:26the term
00:49:27Anunnaki
00:49:28means
00:49:29those
00:49:30who from
00:49:30the heavens
00:49:31came
00:49:32it says
00:49:33word for word
00:49:35that these
00:49:36beings
00:49:36descended
00:49:37in flying
00:49:38vehicles
00:49:39from the sky
00:49:40and
00:49:42we can find
00:49:43not only
00:49:43descriptions
00:49:44of the Anunnaki
00:49:45but also
00:49:46depictions
00:49:47and we
00:49:48can see
00:49:48them
00:49:48in statues
00:49:49in carvings
00:49:51so it's
00:49:52all
00:49:52very
00:49:53interesting
00:49:53to see
00:49:54that
00:49:55those
00:49:55beings
00:49:56looked like
00:49:57modern day
00:49:58space travelers
00:49:59with weird
00:49:59suits
00:50:00some of
00:50:01them wore
00:50:01wrist watches
00:50:02they had
00:50:03boots on
00:50:04and helmets
00:50:05and above
00:50:07all
00:50:07wings
00:50:08and they
00:50:09were always
00:50:09described
00:50:10or depicted
00:50:11in floating
00:50:13above
00:50:13some
00:50:14quote unquote
00:50:15regular people
00:50:18so
00:50:19the question
00:50:20is
00:50:20who were
00:50:21the Anunnaki
00:50:22and according
00:50:23to the ancient
00:50:24astronaut hypothesis
00:50:25they were
00:50:26space travelers
00:50:27who visited
00:50:28earth
00:50:29in the remote
00:50:30past
00:50:38similar themes
00:50:39can be found
00:50:40in the legends
00:50:41of Greek
00:50:41and Roman
00:50:42gods
00:50:42which also
00:50:43describe events
00:50:44that some
00:50:45interpret
00:50:45as extraterrestrial
00:50:47contact
00:50:48both cultures
00:50:49believed in
00:50:50powerful gods
00:50:51who lived
00:50:52in the heavens
00:50:52and often
00:50:53came down
00:50:54to earth
00:50:55to interact
00:50:55with humans
00:50:59a well-known
00:51:00example
00:51:01is Zeus
00:51:02and the Greek
00:51:03gods
00:51:03and they've
00:51:04come down
00:51:05from the sky
00:51:05and Mount Olympus
00:51:07where they live
00:51:08in some mountain
00:51:09and they're bringing
00:51:10really civilization
00:51:11and sciences
00:51:13to mankind
00:51:14but they have
00:51:15many human
00:51:16attributes too
00:51:17where yeah
00:51:18they're attracted
00:51:19to human women
00:51:21they want to have
00:51:22sex and children
00:51:22with as many of them
00:51:23as they can
00:51:24and then they
00:51:25go back
00:51:26into the sky
00:51:28these ideas
00:51:29of gods mating
00:51:30with humans
00:51:31are very commonplace
00:51:32like Zeus
00:51:33in Greek mythology
00:51:35was always coming down
00:51:36and mating
00:51:37with mortals
00:51:37and producing
00:51:39demigods
00:51:40like Hercules
00:51:40or Helen of Troy
00:51:42who were
00:51:43you know
00:51:44exceptionally beautiful
00:51:45exceptionally powerful
00:51:49unusually gifted
00:51:50in every way
00:51:51so in other words
00:51:53you were
00:51:53creating a better race
00:51:55in this sense
00:51:57in this sense
00:51:58in the ancient
00:51:58Aslan opinion
00:51:59the whole pantheon
00:52:01of gods
00:52:01that we have
00:52:03in ancient Greece
00:52:04consists of nothing else
00:52:07but flesh and blood
00:52:09extraterrestrials
00:52:11who were
00:52:11misinterpreted
00:52:13as being
00:52:14these divine creatures
00:52:16by our ancestors
00:52:19there's a lot of evidence
00:52:21showing that we're not alone
00:52:23in the cosmos
00:52:24and that
00:52:25our human civilizations
00:52:27on earth
00:52:28have been interacting
00:52:29for long periods of time
00:52:31with extraterrestrial intelligences
00:52:34belief in celestial beings
00:52:38interacting with humans
00:52:39is a cornerstone
00:52:40in several major religions
00:52:42in fact
00:52:43according to the Bible's
00:52:45book of Genesis
00:52:46God created the first humans
00:52:48Adam and Eve
00:52:50the Bible also contains
00:52:52other passages
00:52:53that describe strange interactions
00:52:56between otherworldly beings
00:52:58and humans
00:53:00people believe
00:53:01messengers of some sort
00:53:03come down from the heavens
00:53:04you know
00:53:04they came down
00:53:05and they had sex with humans
00:53:06and this is where
00:53:07we produce giants
00:53:08people like Goliath
00:53:10so in a technical sense
00:53:12they are alien
00:53:13they're gods
00:53:14or they're angels
00:53:15or some kind of
00:53:16superhuman thing
00:53:19interpreting these Bible stories
00:53:21has also led
00:53:22to a certain amount
00:53:23of debate
00:53:23and controversy
00:53:25while most see
00:53:26a single god
00:53:27directing
00:53:28and influencing
00:53:29mankind's destiny
00:53:30others argue
00:53:32that it is really
00:53:33a number of gods
00:53:34that are responsible
00:53:37in the Old Testament
00:53:39it says very clearly
00:53:41let us make man
00:53:42in our image
00:53:44according to our likeness
00:53:46now
00:53:46grammatically speaking
00:53:48that sentence
00:53:49doesn't make sense
00:53:50because you have God
00:53:52and then you have
00:53:53our image
00:53:54well
00:53:55theologians suggest
00:53:56that by our
00:53:57what they meant
00:53:59is the Trinity
00:54:00the Holy Trinity
00:54:01so basically
00:54:03if you were to change
00:54:04the word God
00:54:05to gods
00:54:06then all of a sudden
00:54:07the sentence
00:54:08makes sense
00:54:10and then the gods
00:54:11created man
00:54:13in our own image
00:54:15so you have this reference
00:54:17let us create man
00:54:19in our image
00:54:20in several religious texts
00:54:22specifically the Hebrew Bible
00:54:23which Christians also accept
00:54:25and in the Quran
00:54:26which Muslims
00:54:27revere as holy
00:54:28you have the reference
00:54:31to God
00:54:31in the plural
00:54:32and it is incredibly interesting
00:54:36but do all these
00:54:38religious scriptures
00:54:39that tell similar stories
00:54:40really point to the possibility
00:54:42that aliens have visited
00:54:45earth throughout
00:54:45ancient history
00:54:48the fact is
00:54:50the story of creation
00:54:52in our own Bible
00:54:53is the story of creation
00:54:56in cultures
00:54:56around the world
00:54:58the story of the flood
00:55:00the evolution
00:55:01of the human species
00:55:02the development
00:55:03of language
00:55:04all of this
00:55:06points to
00:55:07in fact
00:55:08the Bible says so
00:55:09life on earth
00:55:11came
00:55:12from contact
00:55:13with an extraterrestrial
00:55:14life form
00:55:15that's in the Bible
00:55:17that's in ancient cultures
00:55:18around the world
00:55:19so I believe
00:55:20the theory of ancient astronauts
00:55:21is true
00:55:22and I believe
00:55:23there's solid evidence there
00:55:24and I believe
00:55:25the harder you try
00:55:26to refute that evidence
00:55:27the more you wind up
00:55:29against a brick wall
00:55:30that ancient astronauts
00:55:32visited us
00:55:33visited earth
00:55:34thousands upon
00:55:36thousands of years ago
00:55:37and seeded
00:55:38the very civilization
00:55:39we have today
00:55:43if the believers
00:55:45in the ancient astronaut theory
00:55:46are correct
00:55:47then just who were
00:55:49these visitors
00:55:50and might cutting edge
00:55:52astrophysics
00:55:53and biology
00:55:54help us to uncover
00:55:56their identity
00:56:02on March 18th
00:56:041965
00:56:05Russian cosmonaut
00:56:07Alexei Leonov
00:56:09stepped outside
00:56:10the Vashko 2
00:56:11and became
00:56:12the first human
00:56:13to walk
00:56:14in space
00:56:19he spent
00:56:2012 minutes
00:56:21and 8 seconds
00:56:22outside his ship
00:56:23before returning
00:56:26Leonov's survival
00:56:27depended upon
00:56:28a protective suit
00:56:29that could keep him alive
00:56:31where there was
00:56:31neither atmospheric pressure
00:56:33nor oxygen
00:56:36if we need
00:56:37space suits
00:56:38would aliens
00:56:39traveling to earth
00:56:40require the same
00:56:41protection
00:56:46is that what
00:56:47we're looking at
00:56:47in these ancient
00:56:48carvings
00:56:49and drawings
00:56:51when critics
00:56:53ask
00:56:54well why would
00:56:55ancient astronauts
00:56:56have to wear
00:56:58astronaut suits
00:57:00that we're familiar
00:57:01with today
00:57:02the answer is very simple
00:57:04can we go through space
00:57:06without wearing
00:57:08a type of suit
00:57:09of course not
00:57:10we would die
00:57:15because who says
00:57:17that whoever visited us
00:57:18in the remote past
00:57:20that they could breathe
00:57:22in the atmosphere
00:57:24of planet earth
00:57:29so it's not
00:57:31far-fetched
00:57:33to suggest
00:57:34that they
00:57:36did in fact
00:57:37wear some type
00:57:37of suit
00:57:44why might these images
00:57:45resemble modern astronauts
00:57:51if they are aliens
00:57:53is it possible
00:57:54they are similar
00:57:55to humans
00:57:57and could they
00:57:58have come from a planet
00:58:00just like earth
00:58:04at the turn
00:58:05of the 20th century
00:58:06a group of British
00:58:08and German scientists
00:58:09considered this possibility
00:58:12they embraced
00:58:13a theory put forth
00:58:14by early Greek philosophers
00:58:15that all life
00:58:17in the universe
00:58:18began in one
00:58:19specific place
00:58:22this theory
00:58:23is called
00:58:24panspermia
00:58:26panspermia
00:58:26panspermia is the theory
00:58:27that life formed
00:58:28in one place
00:58:29and then got spread around
00:58:30to other places
00:58:33in outer space
00:58:34in the medium
00:58:35between stars
00:58:36we see molecules
00:58:37that are the building blocks
00:58:38of life
00:58:40so it's easy
00:58:40to get the building blocks
00:58:41of life to another planet
00:58:43for example
00:58:44if life formed on Mars
00:58:45it could have come here
00:58:46to earth
00:58:48contaminated earth
00:58:49and then started life here
00:58:55roughly 3.6 billion years ago
00:58:58Mars was warm
00:59:00and wet
00:59:00much like the conditions
00:59:02on earth today
00:59:04biologists believe
00:59:05that because Mars
00:59:07cooled more quickly
00:59:08than other planets
00:59:09life may have developed
00:59:11there first
00:59:16Mars is a better candidate
00:59:17for life during the early part
00:59:19of the solar system
00:59:20Mars rocks are coming here
00:59:22all the time
00:59:22and these have been
00:59:23knocked off Mars
00:59:24by asteroid and comet impacts
00:59:27and we know that
00:59:28they could convey
00:59:30any Martian microorganisms
00:59:32to earth
00:59:36in August 1996
00:59:38a team of scientists
00:59:39made a stunning announcement
00:59:43a Martian meteorite
00:59:45found in Antarctica
00:59:46contained evidence
00:59:48of fossilized life
00:59:50the four pound rock
00:59:52designated ALH 84001
00:59:55showed the presence
00:59:57of carbonate globules
00:59:59excreted by microbes
01:00:00when they were alive
01:00:01on Mars
01:00:023.6 billion years ago
01:00:04earth was no longer alone
01:00:09life had existed
01:00:11elsewhere in the universe
01:00:14so this cross-contamination
01:00:16between Mars and Earth
01:00:17which 20 years ago
01:00:19was regarded
01:00:19as a rather wild conjecture
01:00:21is now pretty much accepted
01:00:23by the astrobiology community
01:00:30astrobiologists studying
01:00:32the origin and evolution
01:00:33of life in the universe
01:00:34embraced the possibility
01:00:36that life on earth
01:00:38began in outer space
01:00:44did modern day scientists
01:00:47finally prove
01:00:48what ancient cultures
01:00:49have believed
01:00:50for centuries
01:00:55the common myth
01:00:58or idea
01:00:59that the origins
01:01:01of humankind
01:01:01is from the stars
01:01:03is widespread
01:01:04ancient cultures had
01:01:06the ancient Egyptians
01:01:07the Mayans
01:01:08the Aztecs
01:01:08the Indians
01:01:10and so forth
01:01:11is intriguing
01:01:13and it's probably true
01:01:15and I mean it
01:01:16from an astrophysical
01:01:17point of view
01:01:18we do come
01:01:19from the stars
01:01:20it's a fact
01:01:20that life on earth
01:01:21has been seeded
01:01:22by the coming
01:01:23of a comet
01:01:23containing the life matter
01:01:29I personally suspect
01:01:31there is life out there
01:01:33in fact I believe
01:01:34that we have evidence
01:01:35if nothing else
01:01:36microbial evidence
01:01:38for life
01:01:40extraterrestrially
01:01:42but if life did land
01:01:44on earth
01:01:44from outer space
01:01:45was it by accident
01:01:47or might it have been
01:01:49sent here
01:01:50on purpose
01:01:56one mainstream scientist
01:01:58thought so
01:01:59British geneticist
01:02:02Francis Crick
01:02:02is best known
01:02:04for his collaboration
01:02:05with James Watson
01:02:06together
01:02:07they unraveled
01:02:08the structure
01:02:09of human DNA
01:02:10in 1953
01:02:15less than 10 years later
01:02:17they were awarded
01:02:18the Nobel Prize
01:02:19for their groundbreaking work
01:02:21in genetics
01:02:23in the 1960s
01:02:25Crick became a proponent
01:02:27of panspermia theory
01:02:28and took it
01:02:29to a whole new level
01:02:31with an idea
01:02:32he called
01:02:33directed panspermia
01:02:35Francis Crick
01:02:37hypothesized
01:02:38that somewhere
01:02:38perhaps on the other
01:02:39side of the galaxy
01:02:42there had been
01:02:43a civilization
01:02:45of advanced
01:02:46intelligent beings
01:02:47and they had found
01:02:48that their planet
01:02:49was going to be
01:02:50destroyed
01:02:51perhaps a supernova
01:02:52was going to go off
01:02:53in their vicinity
01:02:54and their planet
01:02:55would be sterilized
01:02:56of life
01:02:59and he asked himself
01:03:00what would an
01:03:01intelligent civilization
01:03:02do in that situation
01:03:04well first of all
01:03:05they tried to figure out
01:03:06if they could get out
01:03:07of there
01:03:08if they could actually
01:03:10preserve their lives
01:03:11and the lives
01:03:11of their descendants
01:03:12perhaps crowd
01:03:13into spaceships
01:03:14and fly across
01:03:15interstellar space
01:03:16until they found
01:03:16a suitable planet
01:03:17to colonize
01:03:24but could it actually
01:03:26be true
01:03:26could we really
01:03:28be the descendants
01:03:29of an alien race
01:03:30that traveled here
01:03:31from another world
01:03:38the ultimate implication
01:03:40of some exobiological theories
01:03:44is actually that we
01:03:46ourselves are extraterrestrials
01:03:48that life on earth
01:03:49arose because organic material
01:03:53was brought here
01:03:54from elsewhere
01:03:58what if we're the ones
01:04:00the descendants of those
01:04:01who came from another planet
01:04:03we weren't created
01:04:05we were brought here
01:04:08seeded planet earth
01:04:10as a colony
01:04:11from some other planet
01:04:12so we're colonists
01:04:15of another race
01:04:17and that's why
01:04:18the aliens look like us
01:04:23in my opinion
01:04:24it's not unscientific
01:04:26to consider
01:04:27the possibility
01:04:28of ancient astronauts
01:04:30alien intervention
01:04:31we live in a huge universe
01:04:37now bacteria
01:04:38versus humanoids
01:04:41one may say
01:04:43that's a big difference
01:04:44but in some ways
01:04:45it's not a big difference
01:04:46where you have life
01:04:47you have the ability
01:04:48for that life
01:04:49to develop
01:04:50into what we consider
01:04:52civilization
01:04:53or intelligent beings
01:04:59is it just a coincidence
01:05:01that modern science
01:05:02and ancient alien theory
01:05:04have come to the same conclusion
01:05:08that life on earth
01:05:09came from the stars
01:05:13and if it's possible
01:05:15that billions of years ago
01:05:17an extraterrestrial race
01:05:19spread out across space
01:05:20how would they survive
01:05:22in their new home
01:05:25could they really be
01:05:27our missing link
01:05:34for thousands of years
01:05:36mankind has tried
01:05:38to depict alien beings
01:05:39who they believe
01:05:40came from the skies
01:05:42many of those creatures
01:05:43seem to share characteristics
01:05:45with humans
01:05:47they often have two arms
01:05:49two legs
01:05:50fingers
01:05:51and a head
01:05:53just like we do
01:05:55biologists refer to this
01:05:57basic body shape
01:05:58as bilateral symmetry
01:06:00bilateral symmetry
01:06:02is very simply
01:06:03you divide something down the middle
01:06:05into two parts
01:06:05and lateral means up and down
01:06:08and the two sides
01:06:09are an exact reflection
01:06:10of each other
01:06:11if you fold the thing in half
01:06:13all the parts line up
01:06:16bilateral symmetry
01:06:17evolved relatively early
01:06:19in the evolution
01:06:20of animals
01:06:22several hundred million years ago
01:06:26being bilaterally symmetric
01:06:28allows you
01:06:29to be streamlined
01:06:30and to develop a head end
01:06:32so you become cephalized
01:06:34and that certainly happened
01:06:35in vertebrates
01:06:36virtually the mouth
01:06:37at the end of something
01:06:38and then you get
01:06:39progressive development
01:06:40and that seems to have
01:06:41led to many many advances
01:06:48so when you look at it closely
01:06:49you can see a lot of
01:06:50advantages coming in
01:06:52having the two arms
01:06:54and the two legs
01:06:54to work together
01:06:55really give you great
01:06:56mobility and balance
01:06:58and speed
01:07:06having eyes
01:07:07on two sides
01:07:07separated
01:07:08give really improved
01:07:09vision in various ways
01:07:11animals that are
01:07:12predominantly prey
01:07:12use their two eyes
01:07:13independently
01:07:14and get a huge field of view
01:07:15animals that are
01:07:16predominantly hunters
01:07:17have them more in the front
01:07:18and get really good
01:07:19depth perception
01:07:20which you need
01:07:20if you're going to land
01:07:21on the animal you're hunting
01:07:32if it is true
01:07:34that aliens resemble humans
01:07:36in their physical characteristics
01:07:37might there also be
01:07:39genetic similarities
01:07:43could we even be
01:07:44related
01:07:48in 2003
01:07:50the US government
01:07:51announced
01:07:52that the Human Genome Project
01:07:54had identified
01:07:55all of the nearly
01:07:5625,000 genes
01:07:57in the human body
01:07:59for the first time
01:08:01scientists had a road map
01:08:03to the genetic makeup
01:08:04of humans
01:08:06human genomes
01:08:08are the ones
01:08:08that are transmitted
01:08:09from parents
01:08:10to children
01:08:11each human genome
01:08:13that is the one
01:08:14that we get
01:08:14from our father
01:08:15or the one
01:08:15that we get
01:08:16from our mother
01:08:17has 3 billion letters
01:08:193 billion components
01:08:20everybody thought
01:08:22that would open
01:08:23lots of possibilities
01:08:25to study
01:08:25human heredity
01:08:26and perhaps
01:08:27for medicine
01:08:28and other applications
01:08:30in 2006
01:08:33genetic researchers
01:08:35at the University of California
01:08:36at Santa Cruz
01:08:37discovered an area
01:08:39of the genome
01:08:40they called
01:08:41HAR1
01:08:42that appears to be
01:08:44unique to humans
01:08:46scientists believe
01:08:47the HAR1 gene
01:08:49plays a critical role
01:08:51in the advanced development
01:08:52of the human brain
01:08:53and is a key element
01:08:55that sets us apart
01:08:57from other animals
01:08:58but where did it come from
01:09:00did humans develop
01:09:02this distinct gene
01:09:03naturally
01:09:04through evolution
01:09:05or did it land here
01:09:07from another planet
01:09:11Francis Crick
01:09:12the British scientist
01:09:14who helped discover
01:09:15the structure of DNA
01:09:16believed that human genes
01:09:19could not have evolved
01:09:20by chance
01:09:21Prick didn't feel
01:09:22in that period
01:09:23of roughly 600 million years
01:09:24from the formation
01:09:25of the planet
01:09:26down to the time
01:09:26when the planet
01:09:27could first support life
01:09:28there was enough time
01:09:29for DNA to evolve
01:09:30by accident
01:09:31it's an enormously
01:09:32complicated molecule
01:09:34Prick gave this analogy
01:09:36you would be
01:09:37more likely
01:09:38to assemble
01:09:39a fully functioning
01:09:40and flying
01:09:41jumbo jet
01:09:43by passing a hurricane
01:09:44through a junkyard
01:09:46than you would be
01:09:47to assemble
01:09:48the DNA molecule
01:09:49by chance
01:09:50in any kind
01:09:52of primeval soup
01:09:53in 500 or 600 million years
01:09:55it's just not possible
01:09:58but if this molecule
01:10:00could not have evolved
01:10:01accidentally
01:10:02how was it created
01:10:04was it
01:10:06as some believe
01:10:07put there
01:10:08on purpose
01:10:10the question
01:10:11should not be
01:10:12do the extraterrestrials
01:10:14look like us
01:10:15or what do the
01:10:15extraterrestrials
01:10:16look like
01:10:16but do we
01:10:18look like
01:10:19the extraterrestrials
01:10:20because according
01:10:21to the ancient
01:10:21astronaut theory
01:10:22a long long
01:10:24time ago
01:10:25extraterrestrials
01:10:27came here
01:10:27and through a
01:10:29targeted mutation
01:10:31of our genes
01:10:33we quote unquote
01:10:34became human
01:10:43possibly there's information
01:10:45in our DNA
01:10:45about whether human evolution
01:10:47was manipulated
01:10:48or not
01:10:52the DNA is almost
01:10:54deciphered
01:10:55yet we only understand
01:10:565% of the information
01:10:58it carries
01:10:58which information
01:11:00our seed
01:11:01carries
01:11:03geneticists have determined
01:11:04that it only takes
01:11:06about 5%
01:11:08to clone
01:11:09a human being
01:11:10and that 95%
01:11:12of that genetic material
01:11:14that we have
01:11:15in our bodies
01:11:16is nothing more
01:11:18than what they refer to
01:11:19as genetic junk
01:11:23why is everything there
01:11:24and there's probably
01:11:24parts of the DNA
01:11:25that don't have
01:11:26an obvious
01:11:27current function
01:11:28maybe they're left over
01:11:28from something
01:11:29that was used
01:11:29in the past
01:11:30kind of like
01:11:30our appendix
01:11:31is left over
01:11:33could this genetic junk
01:11:35hold the key
01:11:36to the evolution
01:11:37of humans
01:11:39some people suggest
01:11:40that decoding
01:11:41our DNA
01:11:42entirely
01:11:43will unlock
01:11:44startling information
01:11:45about our origins
01:11:47but could it even prove
01:11:49that aliens played
01:11:51a role in our development
01:11:52thousands of years ago
01:11:55if you hypothetically
01:11:57wanted to record
01:12:00an eternal message
01:12:01that could be decoded
01:12:03by a creature
01:12:04that had eventually
01:12:05evolved enough intelligence
01:12:07to decode it
01:12:08the place to put
01:12:09that message
01:12:09would not be on
01:12:10some monument
01:12:11or in some text
01:12:13which might be
01:12:15swept away
01:12:16but actually
01:12:17on the DNA
01:12:18of the creature
01:12:19itself
01:12:24it's recently
01:12:26been established
01:12:27that DNA
01:12:28is a recording
01:12:30medium
01:12:31of almost
01:12:32limitless power
01:12:33it would be
01:12:33technically possible
01:12:34to record
01:12:35the entire knowledge
01:12:37of a civilization
01:12:38on the DNA
01:12:39in our bodies
01:12:41all you'd need
01:12:42is a way
01:12:42to access
01:12:43that information
01:12:47I think
01:12:48we have something
01:12:49the whole
01:12:51humanity
01:12:52in our genes
01:12:53somewhere
01:12:54in our genes
01:12:56it is coded
01:12:57that extraterrestrials
01:12:59were here
01:13:00thousands of years ago
01:13:02but the questions
01:13:04persist
01:13:05if aliens
01:13:06visited Earth
01:13:07tens of thousands
01:13:08of years ago
01:13:11how did they get here
01:13:13when we look to the past
01:13:15for the answers
01:13:16are we looking
01:13:17in the wrong place
01:13:20should we actually
01:13:21look forward
01:13:23to our future
01:13:34scientists agree
01:13:36that the best chances
01:13:37of finding alien life
01:13:39will be on planets
01:13:40similar to ours
01:13:41and descriptions
01:13:43of extraterrestrials
01:13:44seem to resemble humans
01:13:46in many ways
01:13:47some ancient astronaut
01:13:50theorists
01:13:51draw a surprising conclusion
01:13:53from these facts
01:13:54suggesting
01:13:55that aliens
01:13:56might actually
01:13:57be human
01:13:59it is odd
01:14:00that many of the
01:14:03descriptions
01:14:04of aliens
01:14:05are effectively
01:14:06humanoid
01:14:07and this
01:14:08raises
01:14:09an interesting
01:14:10possibility
01:14:10one idea
01:14:11that's been put
01:14:12forward
01:14:13is that
01:14:13these are not
01:14:14extraterrestrials
01:14:15at all
01:14:15but they're time
01:14:16travelers
01:14:17from the future
01:14:19they could be us
01:14:20from a thousand
01:14:21two thousand
01:14:22ten thousand
01:14:23years from now
01:14:25let's assume
01:14:26for a moment
01:14:26that ten thousand
01:14:27years from now
01:14:28on this planet
01:14:28if we all survive
01:14:30that time travel
01:14:31was created
01:14:32they've invented it
01:14:33just like the time
01:14:34machine of H.G. Wells
01:14:35days
01:14:36they can go back
01:14:37or they can go forward
01:14:39so let's assume
01:14:40ten thousand years
01:14:41from now
01:14:42we decide to come back
01:14:44to see us
01:14:45maybe they have changed
01:14:47physically
01:14:48they look like
01:14:49the alien greys
01:14:50or whoever they may be
01:14:53it could well be
01:14:55that ancient
01:14:55astronauts
01:14:56might not be
01:14:57creatures from
01:14:57other planets
01:14:58at all
01:14:59but time travelers
01:15:00from 2720
01:15:02in a time machine
01:15:07time travel
01:15:08is an essential
01:15:09concept for
01:15:10science fiction
01:15:10but would it be
01:15:12possible
01:15:13for flesh and blood
01:15:14humans
01:15:14to find a way
01:15:15to transport
01:15:16themselves through
01:15:17time
01:15:17with current
01:15:18technology
01:15:20would this enable us
01:15:21to cover the vast
01:15:22distances of space
01:15:25if I could travel
01:15:26close to the speed
01:15:27of light
01:15:27I could reach
01:15:28the year 3000
01:15:29say
01:15:29in a couple of years
01:15:31have to get very close
01:15:32to the speed of light
01:15:33for that
01:15:33but it's doable
01:15:33and we know
01:15:34that this isn't
01:15:35a theory
01:15:36this is
01:15:36this is real physics
01:15:38we can demonstrate
01:15:38these time warping effects
01:15:42so you can reach
01:15:43the future
01:15:44quicker
01:15:44by traveling close
01:15:45to the speed of light
01:15:48the concept of time travel
01:15:50was first proposed
01:15:51by Albert Einstein
01:15:52in 1905
01:15:53when he published
01:15:55his theory
01:15:55of special relativity
01:15:58ancient astronaut theory
01:16:00says that astronauts
01:16:01visited us
01:16:01a long time ago
01:16:02from somewhere else
01:16:03the technology involved
01:16:05in doing that
01:16:05we would assume
01:16:06would be similar
01:16:06to what we understand now
01:16:07I mean we know
01:16:08special relativity
01:16:09is the law of physics
01:16:10it holds anywhere
01:16:11in the universe
01:16:13ancient astronauts
01:16:14would come all the way here
01:16:15and travel these large distances
01:16:17and not age that much
01:16:18relative to their home planet
01:16:19because if you're going
01:16:20close enough
01:16:21to the speed of light
01:16:22you will have slowed down
01:16:23time enough
01:16:24that when you get back
01:16:26hundreds, thousands
01:16:27or even millions of years
01:16:28could have passed
01:16:36one limitation
01:16:37to this method
01:16:38of travel
01:16:39is that because
01:16:40a spacecraft
01:16:41has mass
01:16:42it theoretically
01:16:43cannot reach
01:16:45the exact speed
01:16:45of light
01:16:46the resulting
01:16:48reduction
01:16:48in velocity
01:16:49would then
01:16:50dramatically increase
01:16:51the amount
01:16:52of time needed
01:16:53to cross
01:16:54the vast universe
01:16:56well there's definitely
01:16:58many theories
01:16:59about how
01:17:00extraterrestrials
01:17:01got here
01:17:02how their
01:17:03propulsion system
01:17:04got them to
01:17:05planet earth
01:17:05they're surely
01:17:06not coming here
01:17:07the way we go out
01:17:08in the space
01:17:09they'd never get here
01:17:10they are finding
01:17:12different ways
01:17:12they have either
01:17:13developed a new
01:17:14form of propulsion
01:17:15or they're able
01:17:16to travel through
01:17:17what I've always believed
01:17:19wormholes
01:17:20throughout the universe
01:17:21that would
01:17:22instantaneously
01:17:23put them here
01:17:27the idea
01:17:28of wormholes
01:17:29was first proposed
01:17:30in 1935
01:17:32by Albert Einstein
01:17:33and his long time
01:17:35collaborator
01:17:36Nathan Rosen
01:17:37they began to explore
01:17:39the possibility
01:17:40that space
01:17:41and time
01:17:42could literally
01:17:42be bent
01:17:43to create
01:17:44a time travel shortcut
01:17:48wormholes
01:17:49have not been detected
01:17:50they're a postulated
01:17:52structure
01:17:53in space
01:17:54that involve
01:17:55actually taking
01:17:56if you want to think
01:17:56of a sheet of paper
01:17:58bending it in half
01:17:59and connecting
01:18:00the two pieces
01:18:01that you get together
01:18:02a wormhole
01:18:03is thought to do
01:18:04something like that
01:18:04space gets warped
01:18:06and it connects
01:18:07between two different
01:18:08parts of space
01:18:09you know
01:18:09there's predictions
01:18:10about what they
01:18:10would look like
01:18:11there's theories
01:18:11about them
01:18:12but we haven't
01:18:12detected one yet
01:18:13you're not actually
01:18:14ever traveling
01:18:15faster than the speed
01:18:15of light
01:18:16you're just
01:18:17cutting corners
01:18:18you don't actually
01:18:20have to go
01:18:21light speed
01:18:21and travel
01:18:22for light years
01:18:23to some place
01:18:24you literally
01:18:25go there
01:18:25through a wormhole
01:18:26and through hyperspace
01:18:27and bang
01:18:28you're there
01:18:30if you can
01:18:31have a wormhole
01:18:31in space
01:18:32then it can be
01:18:33turned in principle
01:18:33into a time machine
01:18:35and so
01:18:36travel
01:18:37back in time
01:18:39as well as
01:18:39forward in time
01:18:40would then be possible
01:18:41the problem is
01:18:42where do you get
01:18:43your wormhole
01:18:44it's not inconceivable
01:18:46that wormholes
01:18:47were made in the
01:18:48big bang
01:18:48coughed out
01:18:49along with everything
01:18:50else
01:18:50there might be
01:18:51one out there
01:18:51in the universe
01:18:52we could harvest
01:18:53and adapt
01:18:54to form a time machine
01:18:57if you end up
01:18:57discovering that
01:18:58you could make wormholes
01:18:59then that increases
01:19:00the range that you
01:19:01can explore in space
01:19:02and that increases
01:19:03the likelihood
01:19:04of having two
01:19:04civilizations at the
01:19:05same time
01:19:06with the right
01:19:07technology to
01:19:08communicate with each
01:19:09other
01:19:12while theoretically
01:19:13possible
01:19:13traveling through
01:19:15wormholes
01:19:15or at the speed
01:19:16of light
01:19:16is currently
01:19:18impossible for us
01:19:19here on earth
01:19:25using modern
01:19:26propulsion methods
01:19:28it would take
01:19:2970,000 years
01:19:30to reach the
01:19:31nearest star
01:19:33fastest rockets
01:19:34are totally puny
01:19:35it's really pathetic
01:19:36so we're talking
01:19:37about 0.01%
01:19:40of the speed
01:19:41of light
01:19:41if you're lucky
01:19:42any object
01:19:43that we could fire
01:19:44out of the solar
01:19:45system
01:19:46is going to take
01:19:46tens of thousands
01:19:47of years
01:19:48to reach the
01:19:49nearest star
01:19:53believe it or not
01:19:54at 4.6 billion
01:19:56years old
01:19:57our solar system
01:19:59is one of the
01:20:00youngest in the
01:20:00universe
01:20:02but if civilizations
01:20:03exist in other
01:20:04galaxies
01:20:05is it possible
01:20:07that they are more
01:20:08advanced than those
01:20:08on earth
01:20:09and if so
01:20:11could they be ahead
01:20:12of us
01:20:12in their ability
01:20:13to travel through
01:20:14space and time
01:20:18for extraterrestrials
01:20:19to come here
01:20:20through the vast
01:20:21reaches of space
01:20:22to our planet
01:20:23they clearly have to
01:20:24have technology
01:20:25that's way in advance
01:20:27of what we have
01:20:28today
01:20:29to go from
01:20:30solar system
01:20:31to solar system
01:20:32rather than going
01:20:33warp speed
01:20:33like in star trek
01:20:34you're really going
01:20:36to travel
01:20:37as they do
01:20:37in star wars
01:20:38where you're
01:20:40jumping through
01:20:41hyperspace
01:20:41going from
01:20:42solar system
01:20:43to solar system
01:20:44is no time at all
01:20:50just because we
01:20:51can't travel
01:20:52from star to star
01:20:53does not mean
01:20:54another more
01:20:56advanced society
01:20:57can't do it either
01:20:58I think that's
01:21:00the height
01:21:01of human arrogance
01:21:01to say
01:21:03just because
01:21:03we can't do it
01:21:05another more
01:21:06advanced civilization
01:21:07can't do it either
01:21:08so you know
01:21:10we have to stop
01:21:11looking at us
01:21:11that we are
01:21:12the pinnacle
01:21:13of creation
01:21:13because we're not
01:21:18celestial beings
01:21:22visitors
01:21:22from the skies
01:21:26deities
01:21:26descending
01:21:27from the heavens
01:21:28to interact
01:21:28with man
01:21:29could these
01:21:31worldwide stories
01:21:32be the foundation
01:21:33for the prevailing
01:21:35belief
01:21:35that something
01:21:36greater than
01:21:37ourselves
01:21:37from beyond
01:21:39our world
01:21:40created the universe
01:21:41as we know it
01:21:55almost all
01:21:56of the great
01:21:56world faiths
01:21:57are based on stories
01:21:59of celestial beings
01:22:00who visit earth
01:22:02many millions of people
01:22:04accept these legends
01:22:05as part of their core beliefs
01:22:13and from the earliest cave drawings
01:22:15to images at Roswell
01:22:18we see artists'
01:22:21interpretations
01:22:21of extraterrestrials
01:22:23or gods
01:22:24coming to our planet
01:22:28in many traditions
01:22:29there is something coming from above
01:22:33there's a stairway to heaven
01:22:34or there's a whirlwind
01:22:36or angel descends
01:22:39sometimes the encounter
01:22:40is quite dangerous
01:22:44as would be appropriate
01:22:46to something awesome
01:22:47and larger
01:22:47and more powerful
01:22:48than we are
01:22:48usually it is memorable
01:22:57many of the myths
01:22:58are much more specific
01:23:00and they really talk about
01:23:02gods physically coming to earth
01:23:06landing
01:23:07doing miracles
01:23:08and showing the people
01:23:10how to live
01:23:15if visitors did come from the stars
01:23:18is it possible
01:23:19that they actually
01:23:20changed the way
01:23:21ancient people thought
01:23:24did they provide
01:23:26an intellectual spark
01:23:27to prehistoric civilizations
01:23:30could that be the reason
01:23:32why so many different cultures
01:23:34could build such large
01:23:36and lasting monuments
01:23:41it's almost as if
01:23:42primitive man
01:23:42woke up one morning
01:23:44and went
01:23:44hey I've got this knowledge
01:23:46and I know how to make tools
01:23:47and I'm going to go
01:23:48and build all these things
01:23:50nah
01:23:51I don't think it happened that way
01:23:52I think others
01:23:54came down to this planet
01:23:55and started teaching
01:23:56other people
01:23:57that were beginning to evolve
01:24:01but the one thing
01:24:03I truly do not believe
01:24:05is that
01:24:06modern cavemen
01:24:07at the time
01:24:08basically created
01:24:10all this knowledge
01:24:11out of thin air
01:24:16all around the world
01:24:18we have concise descriptions
01:24:20in ancient texts
01:24:22which say
01:24:24word for word
01:24:25that some beings
01:24:28came from the sky
01:24:31so it's as if
01:24:33this intellectual
01:24:35big bang
01:24:36or this
01:24:37big bang
01:24:38of knowledge
01:24:39occurred
01:24:40in various
01:24:41periods of time
01:24:43and those
01:24:44various periods
01:24:45of time
01:24:45most concisely
01:24:47always correlate
01:24:49with some type
01:24:50of description
01:24:52of gods
01:24:54descending
01:24:55from the sky
01:25:03I do think of that
01:25:04as a very significant
01:25:06before and after
01:25:07moment in the human story
01:25:08and it is not a moment
01:25:10that is linked
01:25:11to physical evolution
01:25:12we've already got the hardware
01:25:14it's as though
01:25:15something happened
01:25:16to our software
01:25:16around about that time
01:25:18and I think it's a very
01:25:19intriguing moment
01:25:20in the human story
01:25:25for supporters
01:25:27of ancient alien theory
01:25:28the verdict
01:25:29is already in
01:25:31they believe
01:25:32that aliens
01:25:33visited many of
01:25:34Earth's earliest cultures
01:25:36thousands of years ago
01:25:39but is it possible
01:25:40are extraterrestrials
01:25:43responsible for the
01:25:44sacred creation myths
01:25:45of the first
01:25:46human civilizations
01:25:48might they have
01:25:49tampered
01:25:50with our DNA
01:25:52are humans
01:25:53themselves
01:25:53aliens
01:25:54from another planet
01:25:55in the heavens
01:25:56or even
01:25:57from another time
01:25:59while man
01:26:00continues to search
01:26:01for these answers
01:26:02the questions
01:26:04remain
01:26:04if they came here
01:26:07what
01:26:07was their mission
01:26:09we call
01:26:10Earth home
01:26:11but with perfect
01:26:13conditions for life
01:26:14could it be
01:26:15a beacon
01:26:16calling out to
01:26:18other intelligent
01:26:19civilizations
01:26:19that may exist
01:26:21in the universe
01:26:26I think there is
01:26:27life
01:26:27simple life
01:26:28bacterial life
01:26:29microbial life
01:26:30on other planets
01:26:31I think we're
01:26:32going to find that
01:26:33and who knows
01:26:34maybe one day
01:26:35we'll find
01:26:36some other planet
01:26:37that's capable
01:26:38of sustaining life
01:26:39that has evolved
01:26:41people
01:26:41over a long
01:26:42period of time
01:26:43that are also
01:26:44looking up at the stars
01:26:45wondering
01:26:45is there anybody
01:26:47else out there
01:26:47are we the only ones
01:26:49what bigger question
01:26:50could we ask
01:26:51about ourselves
01:26:52and our place
01:26:53in the universe
01:26:53you know
01:26:54is there life
01:26:55elsewhere in the universe
01:26:56or are we it
01:26:57I mean
01:26:58I think it's one of the
01:26:59most fascinating questions
01:27:00and we're fortunate
01:27:01enough to live
01:27:02in a time
01:27:02when we can
01:27:03address this question
01:27:04scientifically
01:27:05and really try
01:27:06and get it some answers
01:27:09you can then come up
01:27:10with a conclusion
01:27:11that something
01:27:12one very strange
01:27:13is happening
01:27:13on this planet
01:27:15and two
01:27:16if it's coming
01:27:17from outside
01:27:18of this system
01:27:20then we're being
01:27:21visited by something
01:27:22that has some
01:27:23intelligence behind it
01:27:26in the end
01:27:27the truth
01:27:28wins
01:27:29and we've seen
01:27:31this in history
01:27:32where
01:27:34scientific theories
01:27:36or ideas
01:27:37that have been
01:27:38deemed
01:27:39impossible
01:27:40turned out
01:27:41to be
01:27:42true
01:27:42and so
01:27:44it is my firm
01:27:46conviction
01:27:47that the same
01:27:48will count
01:27:49for the ancient
01:27:50alien theory
