Reports of encounters with strange beings and sightings of mysterious objects in the sky have occurred throughout history. Could these sightings, coming from every part of the world, from biblical times to present day, be evidence that aliens have been with us all along?

00:00:11Crusaders in the Middle Ages
00:00:16What did they have in common?
00:00:19They either experienced or believed
00:00:22in the possibility of alien encounters
00:00:26The fact is there have been so many descriptions
00:00:29by various chroniclers talking about
00:00:32a strange cloud in the sky that glowed red
00:00:35Columbus in his first voyage
00:00:38he noted in the log a glowing object
00:00:42rise out of the water
00:00:43and head off into the atmosphere
00:00:47Could alien beings have been responsible
00:00:50for biblical floods
00:00:52medieval plagues
00:00:54and even ancient nuclear attacks?
00:00:58Visitations occurred since before recorded history
00:01:02all the way to today
00:01:04Millions of people around the world
00:01:07believe we have been visited in the past
00:01:10by extraterrestrial beings
00:01:12What if it were true?
00:01:14Did ancient aliens really help to shape our history?
00:01:19And what if these visitations didn't only occur
00:01:22thousands of years ago
00:01:24But much more recently
00:01:27Might there be evidence
00:01:29of real life close encounters?
00:01:32achelors
00:02:02seem to have been
00:02:02included in the past
00:02:06Alamogordo, New Mexico
00:02:08White Sands Proving Ground, July 16, 1945
00:02:15Early in the morning, a number of U.S. military officers and scientists
00:02:20gather to watch a powerful new weapon being tested.
00:02:24Some believe the device will be a complete failure.
00:02:28Others think it might destroy the entire state of New Mexico.
00:02:33As a precaution, viewing stations are placed from 10 to 20 miles away from the test site.
00:02:39At precisely 5.29 and 45 seconds, the first atomic bomb is detonated.
00:02:473, 2, 1, fire!
00:02:58The blast emits a fireball over 600 feet wide
00:03:02and produces an explosion equal to 20,000 tons of TNT.
00:03:08The mushroom cloud reaches over 7 miles in height
00:03:13and the reverberations can be felt nearly 100 miles away.
00:03:19The world had a new weapon.
00:03:22One so terrifying, it left even its creator, Dr. Robert Oppenheimer, shocked and shaken.
00:03:30Few people laughed.
00:03:33Few people cried.
00:03:36Most people were silent.
00:03:39For the first time in its history,
00:03:41the Earth had been assaulted by a man-made weapon of incredible power.
00:03:47But what if it had all happened before?
00:03:50What if an explosion of even greater force and destructiveness
00:03:54had long ago shaped the Earth's history?
00:03:59Some people have suggested, on the basis of a number of lines of evidence,
00:04:04that there may have been atomic warfare,
00:04:06atomic bombs, atomic explosions in the very distant past.
00:04:12Atomic warfare among ancient civilizations
00:04:15may sound like something out of a science fiction novel.
00:04:18But descriptions of similar deadly occurrences
00:04:22can be found in the very same text
00:04:24Dr. Oppenheimer quoted after the New Mexico atomic test.
00:04:29I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture,
00:04:33the Bhagavad Gita.
00:04:35Now I am become death,
00:04:37the destroyer of worlds.
00:04:48Part of an ancient Hindu scripture known as the Mahabharata,
00:04:53the Bhagavad Gita was written sometime between the 5th and 2nd century B.C.
00:04:58This massive 100,000 verse text contains stories about the ancient empire of Rama,
00:05:06which it is said existed over 12,000 years ago,
00:05:10or roughly 5,000 years before the earliest recorded civilization in Mesopotamia.
00:05:19If you read the ancient Indian epics,
00:05:22they read like modern-day science fiction,
00:05:26yet they're thousands of years old
00:05:28with references not only of flying chariots
00:05:32and of these gods that had these incredible technological capabilities,
00:05:37but incredible weapons that they used in those epic battles.
00:05:43They had what was called a Brahma weapon.
00:05:50There were many people that were singed and burned
00:05:54and melted by the Brahma weapon.
00:05:58Ancient astronaut theorists believe
00:06:01the Brahma weapon was an early nuclear device
00:06:04because the descriptions of its deadly after effects
00:06:07are eerily similar to the effects of exposure to intense radiation.
00:06:13It is a theory largely discounted by conventional science.
00:06:17There is no evidence that a nuclear bomb
00:06:20was described in the Mahabharata, the Bhagavad Gita.
00:06:25It describes a battle.
00:06:28In battles there are explosions, big explosions.
00:06:35It's one thing about suggesting that, you know, battles have explosions,
00:06:42but that's not really what we're looking at.
00:06:47You've got to look at the whole picture.
00:06:52One reference that we have, for example,
00:06:55speaks of these explosions that were brighter than a thousand suns.
00:07:01And when these blasts occurred,
00:07:04the suns were twirling in the air,
00:07:07trees went up in flames,
00:07:09and there was just this mass destruction.
00:07:12After those blasts,
00:07:14people who survive started to lose their hair
00:07:18and nails started to fall out.
00:07:21I mean, right there,
00:07:21we have a concise reference to radiation poisoning,
00:07:25nuclear fallout.
00:07:26And those texts are thousands of years old.
00:07:32But if the Mahabharata is based on fact,
00:07:37wouldn't archaeologists have uncovered
00:07:39physical or radiological evidence?
00:07:44According to ancient astronaut theorists,
00:07:47they have...
00:07:51the Indus Valley,
00:07:53southern Pakistan.
00:07:58In 1922,
00:08:00an officer with an Indian archaeological survey group
00:08:03discovered the ruins of an ancient city
00:08:06known as Mohenjo-daro.
00:08:09According to mainstream archaeologists,
00:08:12the city,
00:08:13whose name means
00:08:14Mound of the Dead,
00:08:16had flourished between 2600 and 1900 BC.
00:08:20However,
00:08:22scientists in Pakistan
00:08:23have suggested
00:08:24Mohenjo-daro
00:08:25is much older.
00:08:28Mainstream archaeologists believe
00:08:30the city was abandoned
00:08:31as a result of climatic changes
00:08:34or possibly
00:08:34a decrease in trade.
00:08:36But when the ruins
00:08:38of Mohenjo-daro
00:08:39were discovered
00:08:40in the 1920s,
00:08:4344 skeletons
00:08:45were found lying
00:08:46face down in the street,
00:08:48many
00:08:48holding hands.
00:08:51Their faces
00:08:52and body positioning
00:08:53suggested
00:08:55they suffered
00:08:55a sudden
00:08:56violent death.
00:09:00You have a culture
00:09:01of people
00:09:01who literally
00:09:02were lying
00:09:03that in the street
00:09:04archaeologists
00:09:04have found
00:09:05human remains
00:09:06and something big
00:09:07has happened
00:09:07to these people.
00:09:09What in fact
00:09:10did happen
00:09:11to the people
00:09:12of Mohenjo-daro?
00:09:14Why is there evidence
00:09:15that wild animals
00:09:17avoided
00:09:17scavenging
00:09:18their remains?
00:09:19And why,
00:09:20even after
00:09:21thousands of years,
00:09:23had their bones
00:09:24not decayed?
00:09:25In certain areas
00:09:28of that site
00:09:29you find
00:09:30increased levels
00:09:32of radiation.
00:09:34And radiation
00:09:35exists
00:09:36all over the place.
00:09:37When all of a sudden
00:09:39you have higher levels
00:09:40of radiation
00:09:40in certain areas
00:09:42of the world,
00:09:43the question
00:09:44arises,
00:09:45why?
00:09:51Is it possible
00:09:52that Mohenjo-daro
00:09:54was one of the
00:09:55cities mentioned
00:09:56in the Bhagavad Gita?
00:09:58A city
00:09:59that suffered
00:10:00the equivalent
00:10:01of a sudden
00:10:02atomic attack.
00:10:06In his 1979 book,
00:10:10Atomic Destruction
00:10:11in 2000 B.C.,
00:10:13British researcher
00:10:14David Davenport
00:10:16claimed to have found
00:10:17a 50-yard wide
00:10:18epicenter
00:10:19at Mohenjo-daro,
00:10:21where everything
00:10:22appeared to have been
00:10:23infused through
00:10:24a transformative process
00:10:25known as vitrification.
00:10:27Vitrification
00:10:28is a process
00:10:31in which regular
00:10:33type stone
00:10:34gets molten
00:10:36into a magma state
00:10:38and then it hardens again.
00:10:42But once the stone
00:10:43is hardened again,
00:10:44it feels like glass.
00:10:46At Mohenjo-daro,
00:10:49we find evidence
00:10:50of vitrification,
00:10:52which could have
00:10:53only been achieved
00:10:54if the material
00:10:56was exposed
00:10:57to extreme heat
00:10:59by some type
00:11:00of a blast.
00:11:02When British
00:11:03and Indian
00:11:04and Pakistani
00:11:05archaeologists
00:11:06began doing excavations
00:11:08in the Sin desert
00:11:09on the borders
00:11:10of India and Pakistan
00:11:11in the late 1940s
00:11:12and early 1950s,
00:11:14what they found
00:11:15in these cities,
00:11:16Mohenjo-daro,
00:11:18Harappa,
00:11:18Kodiji,
00:11:19was archaeological evidence
00:11:21to show
00:11:22there were apparently
00:11:23atomic weapons,
00:11:24only it happened
00:11:25in ancient times.
00:11:28There's other evidence
00:11:29in parts of Africa
00:11:31and the Middle East
00:11:32where it would seem
00:11:33to be like some sort
00:11:35of atomic explosion
00:11:37had taken place there
00:11:40and had turned
00:11:42the desert sand
00:11:43into glass.
00:11:45And that's exactly
00:11:47what happened
00:11:47at Alamogordo
00:11:48in New Mexico
00:11:49when they detonated
00:11:51the first atom bomb
00:11:51in the desert.
00:11:53Could the strange ruins
00:11:55found in the Indus Valley
00:11:57really contain evidence
00:11:59of an ancient
00:12:00atomic explosion?
00:12:02If so,
00:12:03where did these
00:12:04powerful weapons
00:12:05come from?
00:12:06Who was using them?
00:12:08And why?
00:12:10In the ancient Indian
00:12:11texts themselves,
00:12:13it says,
00:12:14and I quote,
00:12:16at one point,
00:12:17three giant cities
00:12:19were orbiting the earth.
00:12:22And those giant cities
00:12:23were often described
00:12:25as being made
00:12:26of gleaming metal
00:12:28and iron.
00:12:30And at one point,
00:12:31those three cities
00:12:33went to war
00:12:35with each other
00:12:38and it's described
00:12:40how the gods
00:12:43threw weapons
00:12:44at each other,
00:12:46destroying those cities
00:12:48that all went up
00:12:49in flames
00:12:49and fire came raining
00:12:51down onto earth.
00:12:55So when you read
00:12:57those passages,
00:12:58the question I ask
00:13:00is,
00:13:01what is it
00:13:02that our ancestors
00:13:03tried to describe here?
00:13:07And I think
00:13:08that it was
00:13:09some type
00:13:10of a technology
00:13:11that was witnessed,
00:13:14yet our ancestors,
00:13:16while being
00:13:16highly intelligent,
00:13:18didn't understand
00:13:19the nuts and bolts
00:13:21aspects
00:13:22behind that technology.
00:13:25And so they created
00:13:27something divine
00:13:28out of it,
00:13:28something supernatural,
00:13:30yet it never was divine,
00:13:32it never was supernatural.
00:13:36If in fact
00:13:37the Mahabharata
00:13:38is describing
00:13:40historical events,
00:13:41might we also find
00:13:43similar accounts
00:13:44in other
00:13:45ancient writings?
00:13:47As far as
00:13:48ancient astronaut
00:13:49theorists are concerned,
00:13:51we need look
00:13:52no further
00:13:52than in the pages
00:13:54of the Holy Bible.
00:14:00According to
00:14:01one of the stories
00:14:02contained in the
00:14:03book of Genesis,
00:14:04angels were sent
00:14:05by God
00:14:06to destroy the cities
00:14:07of Sodom and Gomorrah
00:14:08because of the sins
00:14:10of their inhabitants.
00:14:12Only a righteous man
00:14:14named Lot,
00:14:14along with his family,
00:14:16was to be spared.
00:14:17But while making
00:14:18their escape,
00:14:19Lot's wife ignores
00:14:21the angels' warning
00:14:21not to look back,
00:14:23and upon gazing
00:14:24at the horror
00:14:25and devastation,
00:14:26is turned
00:14:27into a pillar of salt.
00:14:30When you are
00:14:31at a nuclear
00:14:31testing range
00:14:32and you witness
00:14:33a nuclear blast,
00:14:35you're told
00:14:36to look away
00:14:36and not to look
00:14:37straight into the blast.
00:14:39And here we have
00:14:40a similar description
00:14:41in an ancient
00:14:42biblical text
00:14:44where instructions
00:14:45were given,
00:14:46whatever you do,
00:14:47don't look back
00:14:48because you will die.
00:14:51And sure enough,
00:14:52it happened
00:14:53to Lot's wife.
00:14:56Could it be
00:14:58that the story
00:14:58of Sodom and Gomorrah
00:15:00is really a description
00:15:01of a nuclear explosion,
00:15:03similar to the one
00:15:05described in the Hindus
00:15:06Mahabharata?
00:15:08Do the stories
00:15:09of the Mahabharata
00:15:10and the Bible
00:15:11represent actual
00:15:13historical events?
00:15:15For ancient
00:15:16astronaut theorists,
00:15:17the answer
00:15:18is a resounding
00:15:19yes.
00:15:20And they believe
00:15:22the so-called angels
00:15:23who brought forth
00:15:24the devastation
00:15:25were in fact
00:15:26beings from another planet.
00:15:29Alien visitors
00:15:30armed with advanced weaponry.
00:15:35September 2000,
00:15:38the Black Sea, Turkey.
00:15:40Marine archaeologist
00:15:42Robert Ballard
00:15:43and his team
00:15:44of underwater scientists
00:15:45discover what appears
00:15:47to be a farmhouse
00:15:48some 330 feet
00:15:50below the surface.
00:15:53Estimates suggest
00:15:55the submerged dwelling
00:15:56to be approximately
00:15:577,500 years old.
00:16:01Ballard and other scholars
00:16:02speculated
00:16:03that rising ocean levels
00:16:05could have caused
00:16:06the Mediterranean Sea
00:16:07to burst through
00:16:08a natural dam,
00:16:10creating a flood
00:16:11so great
00:16:11it drowned
00:16:13an estimated
00:16:1358,000 square miles
00:16:15under 500 feet
00:16:17of water.
00:16:21But more than
00:16:22finding the ruins
00:16:23of an ancient dwelling,
00:16:25had Ballard
00:16:26actually discovered
00:16:27proof
00:16:27that the biblical story
00:16:29of Noah
00:16:29and the Great Flood
00:16:30was true?
00:16:32And those villages,
00:16:34of course,
00:16:34weren't built
00:16:35underwater.
00:16:35So Ballard
00:16:36concluded
00:16:37that the
00:16:39Black Sea,
00:16:40as we know it,
00:16:42was only created
00:16:43some 8,000,
00:16:459,000 years ago.
00:16:46And that is exactly
00:16:48what we're talking about
00:16:49with Noah's Ark
00:16:50and the flood,
00:16:51the same area
00:16:52where all that happened.
00:16:53And in fact,
00:16:55mainstream archaeologists
00:16:56know that
00:16:56in the Mediterranean
00:16:57there are over
00:16:58200 known
00:17:00sunken cities.
00:17:02Those cities, too,
00:17:03were somehow
00:17:04flooded
00:17:05the same time
00:17:06that the Black Sea
00:17:07was flooded.
00:17:08also written
00:17:10in the book
00:17:10of Genesis,
00:17:11the story of Noah
00:17:13tells how God
00:17:14saw that the wickedness
00:17:15of man
00:17:16was great
00:17:16and decided
00:17:18to destroy
00:17:19all of creation.
00:17:22Only Noah,
00:17:24his family,
00:17:25and the animals
00:17:26aboard the Ark
00:17:27were allowed
00:17:28to survive
00:17:29and repopulate
00:17:30the planet.
00:17:31But is this
00:17:32the whole story?
00:17:34Was Noah
00:17:35selected
00:17:36only for his virtue?
00:17:38Or was there
00:17:39another reason
00:17:39he was chosen
00:17:40to save the planet?
00:17:44Ancient astronaut
00:17:45theorists
00:17:46believe the Bible
00:17:47doesn't tell
00:17:48the whole story.
00:17:50In the late 1940s
00:17:52and early 1950s,
00:17:54a series of
00:17:55ancient texts
00:17:56known as
00:17:57the Dead Sea Scrolls
00:17:59were discovered
00:18:00in a cave
00:18:01located in
00:18:02what is now
00:18:03Israel's West Bank.
00:18:04among the
00:18:06ancient writings
00:18:06are various stories
00:18:08not found
00:18:09in the traditional
00:18:10Hebrew Bible.
00:18:11One such story
00:18:13tells of Noah
00:18:14and his strange
00:18:15miraculous birth.
00:18:18One of the Dead Sea Scrolls
00:18:20is called
00:18:21the Lamech Scroll.
00:18:23What is Lamech?
00:18:24Lamech was a shepherd.
00:18:26And one day
00:18:27Lamech,
00:18:27his women,
00:18:29was pregnant.
00:18:30And he said to her,
00:18:31this is impossible.
00:18:32I was not here
00:18:33for months.
00:18:33But his woman
00:18:35with the name
00:18:35Bathenosh
00:18:36swears
00:18:37no one touched me.
00:18:39But Lamech
00:18:39doesn't believe
00:18:40his wife Bathenosh
00:18:41and he goes to
00:18:42his father
00:18:43which was Methusalem.
00:18:45And Methusalem
00:18:45says to Lamech,
00:18:46I can't help you.
00:18:48I don't understand this.
00:18:49I believe your women,
00:18:50Bathenosh,
00:18:51that nobody touched her
00:18:52and I believe you.
00:18:53What should I do?
00:18:54So Methusalem
00:18:54goes to his father,
00:18:56the grandfather
00:18:57now of Lamech.
00:18:58His name is Enoch.
00:18:59Now Enoch
00:19:01tells to Methusalem
00:19:02that the guardians
00:19:04of the sky
00:19:05have made
00:19:06an artificial
00:19:07insemination
00:19:08into the womb
00:19:10of Bathenosh,
00:19:11the wife.
00:19:12And he should
00:19:13accept this child
00:19:14because this child
00:19:16would be the father
00:19:17of a new
00:19:18human generation.
00:19:20And in the Bible,
00:19:21this is Noah.
00:19:23What if,
00:19:25as ancient
00:19:26astronaut theorists
00:19:27believed,
00:19:28the story
00:19:28of Lamech
00:19:29is true
00:19:29and the guardians
00:19:31of the sky
00:19:32described in the story
00:19:33are in fact
00:19:34aliens?
00:19:37Does this mean
00:19:38that Noah
00:19:38was the product
00:19:39of an artificial
00:19:40insemination,
00:19:41a genetic experiment
00:19:43performed by
00:19:45extraterrestrials?
00:19:46If so,
00:19:47what was the reason
00:19:48for the great flood?
00:19:52Well,
00:19:52the reason for the flood,
00:19:53and we need to
00:19:54understand this,
00:19:55it tells us is that
00:19:56Noah was pure
00:19:57in all of his generations.
00:19:58What does that mean?
00:19:59Why would the account
00:20:01specify pure
00:20:03in all his generations?
00:20:05According to the Bible,
00:20:06God sent the flood
00:20:08because of man's
00:20:09wickedness
00:20:09and corruption.
00:20:11But ancient
00:20:12astronaut theorists
00:20:14believe the flood
00:20:15was actually
00:20:16a means of
00:20:17ridding the earth
00:20:17of biological
00:20:19imperfections.
00:20:20by using Noah
00:20:22and his family,
00:20:23they could repopulate
00:20:24the planet
00:20:25with a genetically
00:20:26superior species.
00:20:29Part of this
00:20:30human society
00:20:31is again
00:20:32genetically backward,
00:20:33closer to the animal.
00:20:35What can we do?
00:20:36These humans
00:20:37were spread out
00:20:38over the planet.
00:20:39So they said,
00:20:40we have to kill them all
00:20:41by a great flood
00:20:43and then
00:20:44we have to
00:20:44restart again.
00:20:48Another familiar element
00:20:50in the story of Noah
00:20:53involves the collection
00:20:54of animals
00:20:55brought aboard the ark.
00:20:57In the Bible,
00:20:59God commanded Noah
00:21:00to collect two of
00:21:01every kind
00:21:02of living creature,
00:21:04animal,
00:21:05bird,
00:21:06and insect.
00:21:07But many
00:21:09biblical scholars
00:21:10and theologians
00:21:11agree
00:21:11that such a task
00:21:13would have been
00:21:14both physically
00:21:14and biologically
00:21:15impossible.
00:21:17Could there be
00:21:18another,
00:21:19more scientific,
00:21:20explanation?
00:21:22The story
00:21:23of Noah's ark
00:21:24is pretty implausible
00:21:26if you think about it.
00:21:27You have two animals
00:21:29of each creature
00:21:32on planet Earth
00:21:33on a boat.
00:21:36Not only would the boat
00:21:37have to be huge,
00:21:38but how are you
00:21:39going to collect
00:21:40every animal
00:21:40on the planet
00:21:41and put it
00:21:41on that ship?
00:21:43So,
00:21:44could it be possible
00:21:46that Noah's ark
00:21:47was once again
00:21:50misunderstood technology
00:21:51and Noah's ark
00:21:53was a DNA bank?
00:22:00Could it be a story?
00:22:02Could it be technology
00:22:03somehow gathering up
00:22:05all living things
00:22:06as in a DNA bank
00:22:07of some kind?
00:22:08It fits together.
00:22:09Hard to imagine
00:22:11how that would happen
00:22:12so far back,
00:22:13but if it did happen,
00:22:15it would need to be told
00:22:15as a story,
00:22:16and the story
00:22:17of a boat works.
00:22:21Perhaps this is really
00:22:22an extraterrestrial
00:22:23DNA bank as well.
00:22:25The extraterrestrials,
00:22:26you need plants
00:22:28and animals
00:22:28and minerals
00:22:29on this planet too.
00:22:31just like when we
00:22:32go to Mars
00:22:33or something,
00:22:33we'll be using
00:22:34what we can use
00:22:35on that planet.
00:22:37So extraterrestrials
00:22:37coming here
00:22:38would want to do
00:22:39that as well.
00:22:40And if they knew
00:22:41that some cataclysm
00:22:42was coming,
00:22:43they too
00:22:44would want to preserve
00:22:45certain kinds of animals
00:22:47and plant life
00:22:49and create,
00:22:50you know,
00:22:50what we think of
00:22:51as Noah's ark.
00:22:55alien DNA bank?
00:22:57Is there any evidence
00:22:58that such a thing
00:22:59is even possible?
00:23:02In 2008,
00:23:04on the Arctic island
00:23:05of Svalbard,
00:23:07a vault was built
00:23:08to store the seeds
00:23:09of hundreds of thousands
00:23:10of plants
00:23:11in the event
00:23:12of a global catastrophe.
00:23:15Elsewhere,
00:23:16similar efforts
00:23:17are reportedly underway
00:23:18to store animal
00:23:19and human DNA as well.
00:23:21Cutting-edge science
00:23:23or merely
00:23:24history repeating itself.
00:23:28The Frozen Ark project
00:23:31is a program
00:23:31that was initiated
00:23:33by the London
00:23:34Natural History Museum.
00:23:36What they've done
00:23:37is they started
00:23:38to store DNA
00:23:40of endangered species
00:23:43for future generations,
00:23:45for preservation.
00:23:46And as of today,
00:23:48over a thousand species
00:23:50have been preserved
00:23:52in small little vials.
00:23:55And so,
00:23:56the question arises,
00:23:58could it be possible
00:24:00that Noah's ark
00:24:01wasn't necessarily
00:24:03a boat
00:24:04made out of wood,
00:24:06but what if Noah's ark
00:24:08was some type
00:24:09of a DNA storage facility
00:24:12that was used
00:24:13in order to preserve
00:24:15all the species
00:24:17on planet Earth?
00:24:19If each species
00:24:20can be held
00:24:22in a tiny vial
00:24:24like this,
00:24:25then it all becomes
00:24:26very logical.
00:24:27And once again,
00:24:29we have to look at it
00:24:31from a perspective,
00:24:32what did our ancestors
00:24:35try to describe?
00:24:37What did they witness?
00:24:41Aliens artificially
00:24:43inseminating humans?
00:24:45Ancient DNA banks?
00:24:48Could such ideas
00:24:49really help
00:24:50our understanding
00:24:51of the Bible?
00:24:53And is it possible
00:24:55that extraterrestrials
00:24:56have influenced
00:24:57the development
00:24:58of mankind?
00:25:00There are many
00:25:01who claim
00:25:02that the proof
00:25:03can be found
00:25:04in some astonishing places.
00:25:11For those who believe
00:25:13that close encounters
00:25:14with alien beings
00:25:15have helped
00:25:16shaped Earth's history,
00:25:18it is important
00:25:19to remember
00:25:20that it isn't only
00:25:21ancient history
00:25:22that has been
00:25:23so influenced.
00:25:25There have been
00:25:26literally hundreds
00:25:26of credible accounts
00:25:28of strange creatures,
00:25:30UFO sightings,
00:25:31and other worldly
00:25:32phenomena
00:25:33that took place,
00:25:34even in the
00:25:35so-called
00:25:36Dark Ages.
00:25:38There have been
00:25:39sightings all over
00:25:40the world
00:25:40throughout the Middle Ages.
00:25:43There are stories
00:25:44going from Scotland
00:25:46to England
00:25:48to Italy
00:25:49to the Crusades.
00:25:53Remember,
00:25:54the Crusades
00:25:54took place
00:25:55over hundreds of years.
00:25:57And at certain points
00:25:58in the battle,
00:25:59in some cases
00:26:00over Turkey,
00:26:01in some cases
00:26:02over Jerusalem,
00:26:03there are images
00:26:05captured in writing
00:26:07by various chroniclers
00:26:09talking about
00:26:11a strange cloud
00:26:12in the sky
00:26:13that glowed red.
00:26:16A strange image
00:26:18coming out
00:26:18of a cloud
00:26:19in the sky.
00:26:20Why would we say
00:26:20this is a UFO?
00:26:22Because traditionally,
00:26:24UFOs mask themselves
00:26:25by forming a cloud
00:26:27around themselves,
00:26:28and it's a cloud
00:26:29that's going through
00:26:30the sky,
00:26:30that's their invisibility cloak.
00:26:34In his 13th century
00:26:35historical work
00:26:37titled
00:26:37Otto Imperiali,
00:26:39Gervas of Tilbury
00:26:40wrote about
00:26:41an aerial craft
00:26:42over the city
00:26:43of Bristol, England,
00:26:44which caught an anchor
00:26:45in a church steeple.
00:26:48Uses specifically
00:26:49the term anchor.
00:26:50Now, we don't know
00:26:51what kind of anchor
00:26:51that is,
00:26:52but a creature,
00:26:54a man,
00:26:55climbs out of this
00:26:57craft
00:26:58and tries to
00:26:59free the anchor
00:27:00from the steeple
00:27:01and all the people
00:27:01in the village
00:27:02start stoning him
00:27:03thinking he's
00:27:04some sort of
00:27:05evil demon.
00:27:08But for ancient
00:27:09astronaut theorists,
00:27:10evidence of an alien
00:27:12presence during
00:27:13the Middle Ages
00:27:13isn't only found
00:27:15in literature.
00:27:17All throughout
00:27:18the Middle Ages,
00:27:19there are
00:27:20some magnificent
00:27:21paintings.
00:27:24And in certain
00:27:26areas of the painting,
00:27:28there are
00:27:29what looks like
00:27:30to be UFOs.
00:27:33They're always
00:27:34floating up in the sky,
00:27:36usually above
00:27:37the Virgin Mary
00:27:38or above Jesus
00:27:39on the crucifix
00:27:41or somewhere
00:27:42we have
00:27:43sceneries
00:27:44that depict
00:27:46what looks like
00:27:47UFOs.
00:27:51One very
00:27:52interesting
00:27:53painting
00:27:53is where
00:27:55Jesus
00:27:55sits up in the
00:27:57clouds
00:27:57with quote-unquote
00:27:58God
00:27:59and they're
00:28:00holding on
00:28:01to the antenna
00:28:02of what looks like
00:28:03Sputnik.
00:28:05And theologians
00:28:06say what is
00:28:07depicted here
00:28:07is nothing else
00:28:09but the Earth.
00:28:13But why would
00:28:14Earth have
00:28:15two antennas
00:28:16sticking out of it?
00:28:18And why would
00:28:19it be round?
00:28:19Because the
00:28:20mainstream viewpoint
00:28:21at the time
00:28:22was that the
00:28:23Earth was flat.
00:28:31Here are
00:28:32pictures of
00:28:33the crucifixion
00:28:34dated around
00:28:341350
00:28:36from Posovo.
00:28:41Here are
00:28:42presumably
00:28:43vehicles
00:28:44with
00:28:45people
00:28:46driving them
00:28:47in attendance
00:28:48at the
00:28:49crucifixion.
00:28:51Could this
00:28:52be a
00:28:52crude
00:28:53attempt
00:28:53on the
00:28:54part
00:28:54of the
00:28:54artist
00:28:55drawing on
00:28:56a tradition
00:28:56obviously
00:28:57he wasn't
00:28:57there
00:28:58drawing on
00:28:58a tradition
00:29:00Could he
00:29:01be reflecting
00:29:02a folklore?
00:29:03Possibly.
00:29:11The people
00:29:12of the
00:29:12Middle Ages
00:29:12depicted
00:29:13devils
00:29:14and angels
00:29:16frequently
00:29:17in their
00:29:18art.
00:29:20They did
00:29:21not depict
00:29:22what we
00:29:24today consider
00:29:25aliens
00:29:26specifically.
00:29:28But
00:29:28angels are
00:29:30heavenly creatures
00:29:31that come from
00:29:31outside of our
00:29:32sphere, aren't
00:29:33they?
00:29:37Did the
00:29:37medieval artists
00:29:38include strange
00:29:39creatures and
00:29:40flying spacecraft
00:29:41in their
00:29:42paintings because
00:29:43they had seen
00:29:44them in real
00:29:44life?
00:29:45Or were they
00:29:46trying to
00:29:47communicate
00:29:47their belief
00:29:48that the
00:29:49miraculous events
00:29:50of the New
00:29:50Testament had
00:29:51otherworldly
00:29:53origins?
00:29:57The most
00:29:58famous painting
00:29:59that without
00:30:00any doubt
00:30:01in my mind
00:30:01depicted a
00:30:04UFO with
00:30:05its laser
00:30:05beam was
00:30:07made by
00:30:08Crivelli in
00:30:091486, the
00:30:13Annunciation to
00:30:14Mary.
00:30:17In medieval
00:30:18art, in the
00:30:20Annunciation, when
00:30:22Mary is told
00:30:24that she will
00:30:25have a child
00:30:26but she will
00:30:27still be a
00:30:27virgin and the
00:30:29angels tell her
00:30:30to this.
00:30:32Over
00:30:32Mary's head
00:30:34is a space
00:30:35capsule.
00:30:37But what's
00:30:38a UFO or
00:30:39a space
00:30:40capsule doing
00:30:41over Mary?
00:30:42Maybe the
00:30:43artist saw
00:30:44it and he's
00:30:45putting it in
00:30:46the painting
00:30:46to bring
00:30:48together his
00:30:48own vision
00:30:49of a UFO,
00:30:50the Annunciation
00:30:52from the
00:30:52Bible,
00:30:53and the
00:30:54mystery of
00:30:55salvation,
00:30:56that there
00:30:56could be a
00:30:57virgin birth.
00:31:01According to
00:31:02ancient astronaut
00:31:03theorists, the
00:31:04UFO-shaped objects
00:31:06found in medieval
00:31:07paintings aren't the
00:31:08only evidence of an
00:31:09alien presence during
00:31:10the era.
00:31:12In his book,
00:31:14The Gods of Eden,
00:31:16author William Bramley
00:31:17cites private journals
00:31:18and other publications
00:31:20throughout Europe,
00:31:21which contain
00:31:23accounts of
00:31:24cigar-shaped
00:31:24flying objects
00:31:25emitting noxious
00:31:27mists.
00:31:28The first reports
00:31:29of this kind
00:31:30began during the
00:31:31mid-14th century,
00:31:33closely corresponding
00:31:34to the outbreak
00:31:35of the worst
00:31:36health epidemic
00:31:37in human history,
00:31:39the Black Plague.
00:31:43The Black Plague,
00:31:44back in the
00:31:451300s,
00:31:46many have said,
00:31:47was caused by
00:31:48a virus from
00:31:50a rodent,
00:31:50bitten by fleas,
00:31:52this disease that
00:31:53wiped out 75-plus
00:31:55million people
00:31:56on the planet
00:31:57at the time.
00:31:59But there's
00:32:00another theory
00:32:00by a fellow
00:32:01by the name
00:32:01of William Bramley,
00:32:02who says that
00:32:03the Black Plague
00:32:05was created
00:32:06by ETs,
00:32:08that they
00:32:09wanted to
00:32:10eradicate
00:32:10human beings
00:32:11for whatever
00:32:12horrible reason.
00:32:14We know that
00:32:15plague can be
00:32:16spread by rodents,
00:32:17but there weren't
00:32:18that many rodent
00:32:19infestations being
00:32:20reported back then,
00:32:21at least not enough
00:32:22to account for
00:32:22all of the
00:32:23breakouts that we had.
00:32:24So what you find
00:32:25in the literature
00:32:26from that time
00:32:27are numerous reports
00:32:29of bright lights
00:32:30moving through the sky,
00:32:31emitting gas,
00:32:33or what they call
00:32:34mists.
00:32:36And you find them
00:32:37in China,
00:32:38you find them
00:32:38in Europe.
00:32:38There are
00:32:39similar reports
00:32:40from the Justinian
00:32:41plague from
00:32:42earlier in history
00:32:42and even later
00:32:43plagues,
00:32:44the cholera epidemics,
00:32:45you find similar
00:32:46stories of mists
00:32:48that are the
00:32:49cause of the plague.
00:32:51We have weapons
00:32:52like that,
00:32:53biological warfare.
00:32:54As for the motive
00:32:56as to why
00:32:56this happened,
00:32:58I can only
00:32:58kind of scratch
00:32:59my head
00:33:00because in the
00:33:00UFO phenomena,
00:33:01we see certain
00:33:03consistent patterns,
00:33:04but we don't always
00:33:05understand the motive.
00:33:09Italian historian
00:33:10Matteo Villani,
00:33:12who both chronicled
00:33:13the Black Death
00:33:14and died from it
00:33:15in the 14th century,
00:33:17wrote of pestilential
00:33:19fogs reported
00:33:20by travelers
00:33:20from Asia.
00:33:22He even wrote
00:33:23that people
00:33:24were convinced
00:33:25they could actually
00:33:26see the plague
00:33:27coming through
00:33:27the streets.
00:33:30But what some
00:33:31ancient astronaut
00:33:32believers find
00:33:33to be even
00:33:34stronger evidence
00:33:35of alien involvement
00:33:36are the numerous
00:33:38reports of
00:33:39mysterious black-cloaked
00:33:40creatures who would
00:33:42appear on the
00:33:42outskirts of villages
00:33:44just before
00:33:45plague broke out.
00:33:47Contemporary accounts
00:33:49describe them as
00:33:50having terrifying
00:33:51faces and waving
00:33:53long, scythe-like
00:33:54objects dispensing
00:33:56noxious mists.
00:33:58It's the image
00:33:59we know today
00:34:01as the Grim Reaper.
00:34:05These figures
00:34:06in black would
00:34:07appear usually
00:34:08on the outskirts
00:34:08of a town.
00:34:09They were carrying
00:34:10these long devices
00:34:11that looked like scythes.
00:34:13These figures
00:34:14in black would just
00:34:15start sweeping
00:34:16in the fields
00:34:16as though they were
00:34:17cutting down
00:34:18the wheat.
00:34:20Then immediately
00:34:21there would be
00:34:22an outbreak
00:34:22of the plague.
00:34:25Although ancient
00:34:27astronaut theorists
00:34:28are divided
00:34:28on Bramley's proposal
00:34:30that aliens
00:34:31were behind
00:34:31the plague,
00:34:32his research,
00:34:33like the artwork
00:34:34of the time,
00:34:35has led to one
00:34:36important conclusion.
00:34:40What is evidence
00:34:41is the fact
00:34:42that visitations
00:34:44occurred since
00:34:45before recorded
00:34:47history all the way
00:34:49to today?
00:34:50It's not like
00:34:51ancient astronauts
00:34:52only happened
00:34:53thousands of years
00:34:54ago and then
00:34:55all of a sudden
00:34:56we have Roswell.
00:34:58The fact alone
00:35:00that these visitations
00:35:02have been going on
00:35:03for all this time,
00:35:07thousands of years,
00:35:09that's sensational.
00:35:11Flying cylinders
00:35:12spreading plague
00:35:13from the sky,
00:35:15black-clad aliens
00:35:16looking to destroy
00:35:17humans.
00:35:19But even if possible,
00:35:21why?
00:35:22And if true,
00:35:24wouldn't there
00:35:25continue to be
00:35:26evidence of even
00:35:27more close encounters?
00:35:29Encounters that would
00:35:30take place much
00:35:32closer to home?
00:35:37When Columbus
00:35:38and his men
00:35:39first set foot
00:35:40in what to the
00:35:41Europeans was
00:35:42the New World,
00:35:43the indigenous people
00:35:44had never encountered
00:35:46anyone like them.
00:35:47Their skin was pale.
00:35:49They wore strange
00:35:50clothes made of
00:35:52bright, often
00:35:52shiny materials.
00:35:54They arrived in
00:35:55massive ships
00:35:56and had powerful
00:35:57weapons.
00:35:58To the natives,
00:36:00the visitors were
00:36:01truly aliens from
00:36:03a strange,
00:36:04faraway world.
00:36:05Powerful beings
00:36:06who might just as
00:36:08well have been sent
00:36:09from the heavens.
00:36:13Columbus wrote in his
00:36:14journal that the
00:36:16inhabitants eagerly
00:36:18came out to see
00:36:19their ships and ask
00:36:20them if they had come
00:36:21from the heavens.
00:36:22And despite the fact
00:36:24that Columbus and his
00:36:25men indicated,
00:36:26no, we didn't come
00:36:26from the heavens,
00:36:27they called out to
00:36:29the people still on
00:36:30the shore,
00:36:30come out and see the
00:36:31people who have come
00:36:32from the heavens.
00:36:33Certainly, it seems
00:36:34interesting to wonder
00:36:35why it is that,
00:36:37instead of thinking
00:36:38that possibly they
00:36:38came from some
00:36:39other part of the
00:36:40sea, that they'd
00:36:40come from the sky.
00:36:43But there is more
00:36:44to the story.
00:36:46Less well known is
00:36:48that Columbus had an
00:36:50alien encounter of
00:36:51his own, one reported
00:36:53in his log, just days
00:36:55before he reached the
00:36:56shores of the New
00:36:57World.
00:37:00At about 10 p.m.
00:37:02on the 11th of
00:37:03October, 1492, the
00:37:06anxious explorer was
00:37:08on the deck of the
00:37:08Santa Maria, when he
00:37:10saw a light glimmering
00:37:12at a great distance.
00:37:14Columbus wrote,
00:37:16The admiral, standing
00:37:17on the quarter deck,
00:37:18saw a light.
00:37:20Calling to Pero Gutierrez,
00:37:22he told him he saw a
00:37:24light, and bid him look
00:37:25that way, which he did
00:37:27and saw it.
00:37:28The admiral again
00:37:29perceived it once or
00:37:31twice, appearing like the
00:37:32light of a wax candle,
00:37:34moving up and down.
00:37:37Summoning another member
00:37:38of the crew, the two
00:37:40watched as the light
00:37:41vanished and reappeared
00:37:42repeatedly.
00:37:44Seeing lights in the
00:37:45water isn't really an
00:37:46anomaly.
00:37:47We all know that certain
00:37:48kinds of underwater life
00:37:49give off lights.
00:37:51But this light actually
00:37:53traveled along with the
00:37:55ship.
00:37:56Columbus noted in the log,
00:37:59a glowing object rise out
00:38:01of the water and head off
00:38:04into the atmosphere.
00:38:06What did Columbus see?
00:38:09A phosphorescent sea
00:38:11creature?
00:38:12An hallucination?
00:38:14Or was it something more?
00:38:17Something from out of this
00:38:19world?
00:38:19What did Columbus's men
00:38:22see?
00:38:23What they saw was a
00:38:26luminous object that upon
00:38:29breaking the water's
00:38:30surface became a UFO.
00:38:34To UFO researchers like
00:38:36Bill Burns, Columbus's
00:38:38sighting is significant.
00:38:40Not only because of when it
00:38:42occurred, but also because
00:38:44the object was spotted
00:38:45coming out of the sea.
00:38:47Ruling out the possibility
00:38:49that what he saw was a
00:38:50comet or a shooting star.
00:38:53What's intriguing is that
00:38:55this was in what we call
00:38:57today the Bermuda Triangle.
00:39:01The Bermuda Triangle, that
00:39:03area, particularly off of
00:39:05Bimini and the Bahamas, may
00:39:08in fact be, and I'm way out
00:39:10of a limb here, colony
00:39:12headquarters underneath that.
00:39:15Your UFO goes down into the
00:39:18water and then into a
00:39:19subterranean.
00:39:22What better position would
00:39:24be to monitor South America,
00:39:27Middle America, Egypt, than
00:39:30the Caribbean?
00:39:31Many people believe that it's
00:39:33possible that UFOs could have
00:39:35established bases on the
00:39:37sea floor.
00:39:38To some extent, it's true that
00:39:40we know more about the moon or
00:39:42some parts of outer space than
00:39:43we do about the deepest parts
00:39:44of our own oceans.
00:39:46This event is extremely
00:39:49important because it is the
00:39:52world's first recorded event
00:39:54that illustrates the appearance
00:39:57of UFO as object emerging from
00:40:01the water.
00:40:04If Columbus's sighting was so
00:40:06extraordinary, why do we only
00:40:09find record of it in his log?
00:40:11Some believe another account of
00:40:14this event exists in the
00:40:16official records of the Spanish
00:40:18Inquisition.
00:40:21UFO researcher Maximilian de
00:40:23Lafayette claims that
00:40:25Columbus's shipmate, Pedro
00:40:27Gutierrez, reported him to the
00:40:29Inquisition after hearing Columbus
00:40:31describe the lights in the sky as
00:40:34resembling the Jewish menorah.
00:40:38When they went back to Spain,
00:40:40Gutierrez went directly to the
00:40:42infamous Inquisition.
00:40:44This is the Catholic organization
00:40:46created by the Vatican to
00:40:48persecute and kill the infidels.
00:40:51The infidels means the Jews, the
00:40:55Muslim and Christian who are not
00:40:57Catholic.
00:41:03The Inquisition called him for
00:41:05explanation, deposition.
00:41:07Did you say that you saw menorah?
00:41:09Why did you say menorah?
00:41:12Oh, so you are a Jew.
00:41:13He said, I'm not a Jew.
00:41:16In the deposition, which is lengthy,
00:41:19you find more details, meticulous
00:41:21details of what Columbus saw above
00:41:25the water.
00:41:32The file of the Inquisition is in
00:41:35the vault of the Vatican.
00:41:37And good luck if you can go to the
00:41:39secret file of the Vatican and try
00:41:41to dig for document as explosive as
00:41:44this one.
00:41:48Secret files of the Spanish
00:41:50Inquisition?
00:41:51UFOs and alien sightings in the time
00:41:55of Columbus?
00:41:56Far-fetched, perhaps.
00:41:59But to proponents of ancient
00:42:00astronaut theory, these pre-colonial
00:42:03close encounters are considered
00:42:05commonplace events.
00:42:07For them, it offers additional proof
00:42:10that we are not alone.
00:42:14They have several sightings of what we
00:42:17could call UFOs today along the
00:42:19discovery of America during the
00:42:22conquest of America.
00:42:23Columbus was not the only one.
00:42:25Also on the trip of Magillian,
00:42:28Fernando de Magillian, the
00:42:30discoverer of the strait who
00:42:32circumnavigated the war after
00:42:35Columbus.
00:42:36We have also sightings.
00:42:41Seafarers often encounter strange
00:42:43lights both in the sky and below the
00:42:46surface of the ocean.
00:42:48Skeptics argue that Columbus's sighting,
00:42:51like many others, was simply a
00:42:53natural phenomenon.
00:42:57At night, there are all kinds of things.
00:42:59For example, bolides.
00:43:00Bolides are these very large comets.
00:43:03And they're spectacular.
00:43:04It's just like this enormous bright
00:43:06light with a trail that just
00:43:07arcs through the sky.
00:43:09But we can tell the difference when
00:43:11you have a meteor like that or a
00:43:13bolide.
00:43:14Characteristics are very different than
00:43:15the ones of genuine UFOs.
00:43:18As far back as the 19th century,
00:43:20people have speculated about what that
00:43:22light could have been.
00:43:24Explanations have centered around the
00:43:26possibility that it could have been a
00:43:28light or a torch being carried by an
00:43:31island inhabitant.
00:43:32They were, in fact, more than 35 miles
00:43:36away from any land, which makes that
00:43:39impossible.
00:43:42The other possibility is that it was a
00:43:45meteor traveling very close to the
00:43:47horizon and that the movement of the
00:43:49ship is actually what made the light
00:43:51appear to be moving up and down.
00:43:53But what if conventional science is wrong
00:43:57and the ancient astronaut theorists are
00:44:00correct?
00:44:01What if Columbus, Magellan, and the early
00:44:05explorers really did see evidence of
00:44:09extraterrestrial creatures visiting our planet?
00:44:12planet?
00:44:12What does this say about our past, our history, and our
00:44:20future?
00:44:22Germany, April 14th, 1561.
00:44:28At dawn, the citizens of Nuremberg awoke to what was
00:44:32described in a local news flyer as a very
00:44:35frightful spectacle.
00:44:39Various strange objects were spotted in the sky, engaged in what
00:44:45appeared to be an aerial battle.
00:44:53They see this incredible sight as the sun is coming up.
00:44:57They see what they describe as cigar-shaped objects, circles in the air, and
00:45:04crosses, flying crosses.
00:45:07And suddenly, these shapes began emitting other shapes.
00:45:12The spheres and disks were seen for a long time as they apparently were fighting in some kind
00:45:18of a battle over the city.
00:45:20In fact, the battle was so evident that the people in Nuremberg were actually able to perceive
00:45:25which side was winning.
00:45:27Some of the objects were seen to crash into the ground and disappear in a cloud of smoke or steam.
00:45:35Other objects were seen to fly off and disappear in the direction of the sun.
00:45:40This entire event becomes memorialized in a broadsheet.
00:45:45Now, a broadsheet in the 16th century was literally a newspaper.
00:45:50And that broadsheet exists today in Zurich, Switzerland.
00:45:54The Zurich Central Library, to this day, retains a copy, not only of the famous woodcut that
00:46:01shows the 1561 sighting over Nuremberg, but also a 1566 woodcut showing a sighting from
00:46:09that year that was quite similar in Basel, Switzerland.
00:46:12What's fascinating is it's a very similar event.
00:46:16People saw a bunch of circles in the air, in fact, a proliferation of circles in the air.
00:46:21They didn't necessarily interpret that as a battle in the air, but they did interpret
00:46:26it as some kind of heavenly sign.
00:46:29The broadsheets that were distributed both in Nuremberg and in Basel five years later advised
00:46:36people to repent for their sins and interpreted these extraordinary events as signs from God.
00:46:43In all time, everything paranormal, extra, extra,
00:46:48extra, hyphen, ordinary, belongs to realm of divinity of God.
00:46:53God's doing this. God is punishing us. God is blessing us. Go repent. Go to church.
00:46:57It's interesting to read the Nuremberg description because it is written with religious iconography
00:47:05in mind. They talk about crosses seen in the sky on the previous day during that sighting.
00:47:11Now, what we might think of as a fuselage with wings might have appeared as a cross to people
00:47:18who saw religious symbolism constantly in their everyday life. It's difficult to imagine how these
00:47:26things might have appeared, but it's certainly possible that if these were to appear in the
00:47:30sky today, we would describe them quite differently.
00:47:34Could the people of Nuremberg have actually witnessed a battle between warring alien factions?
00:47:41An event eerily similar to the one written about in the Bhagavad Gita over 3,000 years earlier.
00:47:50And if not, what else would explain the vivid accounts of luminous globes and blood-red crosses
00:47:58appearing in the sky?
00:48:03Throughout the Middle Ages, visions of strange happenings were often attributed to God or to the supernatural.
00:48:12But moving into what is known as the early modern period of the 17th century, people began
00:48:19to look more and more towards science and the stars for answers.
00:48:24And with the invention of the refracting telescope in 1608, there would be more eyes trained on
00:48:30the stars than ever before.
00:48:34Ironically, the first report of a UFO witnessed through this new device came from Colonial America's
00:48:41best-known Puritan minister, Cotton Mather.
00:48:46There was an incredible sighting that the very famous New England preacher Cotton Mather had.
00:48:52Cotton Mather said that he was looking through a telescope at the moon, and in the telescope,
00:48:58he saw a flying light over the surface of the moon.
00:49:03Well, how did this get recorded? By none other than NASA.
00:49:07And people can find it themselves. Go to the NASA report on lunar anomalies over 500 years,
00:49:14and they will find Cotton Mather sighting of a UFO over the surface of the moon.
00:49:26There are a vast number of natural atmospheric phenomena that can appear as bright lights in the night sky.
00:49:34Certainly, meteors are a possibility.
00:49:38Even certain kinds of terrestrial phenomena do materialize as glowing balls of light that,
00:49:45seen from a distance, may appear to be a star.
00:49:48And it's incredibly difficult to judge the distance of a point source of light in the night.
00:49:54So, he may have thought that it was on the surface of the moon or hundreds of miles away,
00:50:00when in reality, it could have been quite close to where he was.
00:50:03Though it is uncertain what Cotton Mather saw,
00:50:07ancient astronaut theorists find it significant that a prominent religious figure
00:50:12would report such a sighting not as a vision from God, but as an astronomical event.
00:50:19They see it as a sign, not only of the sighting's authenticity,
00:50:24but that views on the possibility of extraterrestrial life were starting to shift,
00:50:30even within the Christian church.
00:50:33Cotton Mather was known as a fire and brimstone preacher,
00:50:36but there's a rational part of Cotton Mather as well.
00:50:42Because this was the very beginning, the dawn of the Industrial Revolution.
00:50:48And in this context, people were thinking about science,
00:50:52they were thinking about machines,
00:50:54and really thinking about, could there be something in space?
00:51:00All those sightings like Cotton Mather's were still rare in the 1700s.
00:51:05The increasing interest in astronomy sparked a new debate over a centuries-old theory called
00:51:12the plurality of worlds.
00:51:14The idea that life might exist elsewhere throughout the universe.
00:51:19By the end of the 18th century, the majority of people, at least of educated people,
00:51:26were convinced that all throughout the solar system,
00:51:30there was intelligent life on Jupiter, on Mars, on Saturn.
00:51:37All of them had extraterrestrials.
00:51:39Very possibly the moon would have intelligent beings on it.
00:51:44I once did a tally of the leading intellectuals in the 18th century.
00:51:51Over half of them included ideas of extraterrestrial life in their publications.
00:51:59The premier 18th century astronomer, William Herschel,
00:52:03also supported the theory that life existed on other planets.
00:52:07So did Thomas Paine, one of America's founding fathers,
00:52:11along with many religious leaders of the time.
00:52:14Preachers were preaching about extraterrestrials as a proof of God's goodness.
00:52:20That's the idea that if there is a good and beneficent God,
00:52:25he would populate all the planets, all the stars.
00:52:33Though there was open debate about the existence of extraterrestrial life in the 1700s,
00:52:40the discussion did not often extend to the idea of aliens visiting Earth.
00:52:45But in 1731, a series of sightings occurred across Europe that were so compelling,
00:52:53the possibility could no longer be ignored.
00:52:57In modern UFO sightings, the communications about UFOs are instant.
00:53:03It's on the internet, it's on YouTube.
00:53:04But what about some of these 18th century or Renaissance sightings?
00:53:10Here's something incredible.
00:53:12In 1731 over Kilkenny, Ireland, there was a sighting of a luminous object coming out of a red cloud.
00:53:19That same sighting is reported in the span of a week over the rest of Europe,
00:53:26particularly over Romania in Eastern Europe.
00:53:29Now, here are two countries that are not communicating with each other.
00:53:32Newspapers don't go back and forth, they don't speak the same language,
00:53:37there's no radio, and there's no television.
00:53:40Yet, a UFO was spotted traveling from the Irish Sea across Europe all the way to Eastern Europe towards Asia,
00:53:50and is spotted in different places as it goes.
00:53:54Independent observations that don't cross-pollinate.
00:54:00Could these nearly identical reports of a strange object passing through the sky be mere coincidence?
00:54:08And if it was an alien craft,
00:54:11is it possible that earlier sightings simply weren't reported
00:54:15because they were interpreted as signs from God?
00:54:19In colonial America, the idea that aliens were visiting Earth was gaining ground.
00:54:25And in the 1800s, this controversial theory would even make its way to the White House.
00:54:42The United States officially declared its independence from Great Britain in 1776.
00:54:50And just 14 years later, a report of the first UFO sighting in American history appeared in the newly published
00:54:59journals of John Winthrop,
00:55:01the second governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
00:55:05His journals, which are now known as A History of New England, 1630 to 1649,
00:55:13are still considered the preeminent record for that period in American history.
00:55:19When the journals were finally published in 1790, over 140 years after Winthrop's death,
00:55:25they were found to contain an alarming account of a possible close encounter over Boston's Muddy River.
00:55:39One night in March of 1639, James Everill, who was described as being a sober and discreet man,
00:55:46and two of his companions boarded a little boat in the muddy river of Boston.
00:55:55As they paddled along the river, they saw a great bright light that hovered in the sky.
00:56:01As they watched, the light flared up and then contracted into what they described as the figure of a swine.
00:56:08It's difficult to imagine anybody seriously reporting a sighting of a glowing flying pig.
00:56:14Looking at the sighting, one can't help but wonder if they were struggling to describe an oval-shaped fuselage
00:56:22and four short what we might now call landing struts or landing gear in a way that made sense in
00:56:28the 17th century.
00:56:31Winthrop's account states that the object moved swiftly as an arrow,
00:56:36jetting back and forth as well as up and down for two to three hours.
00:56:41And when it finally disappeared, the three passengers in the boat,
00:56:46who had been drifting downstream the entire time,
00:56:49were astonished to find themselves back at the point where they began their trip.
00:56:57What Winthrop describes in his journal is really difficult to explain.
00:57:02Certainly, it seems hard to fathom that for two or three hours,
00:57:07three men in a boat watched a bright light moving around in the sky over the city of Boston.
00:57:13And it seems almost inconceivable that their boat could have been drawn back against the tide without them noticing it.
00:57:24These type of strange and inexplicable phenomena are now associated with the phenomena that's called alien abduction.
00:57:36And as the abduction cases evolved, you heard people say,
00:57:42all of a sudden, everything around them was slowing way, way down.
00:57:50And they associate the slowing way, way down with whatever this event is that we call the human abduction syndrome.
00:57:59Could this event at Muddy River be not only North America's first documented UFO sighting,
00:58:06but also the first account of an alien abduction?
00:58:13Those who believe the account in Winthrop's journals was an actual alien encounter point to the last line of his
00:58:22report,
00:58:22which states, other credible persons saw the same light.
00:58:29By the time Winthrop's history was published in 1790,
00:58:34the debate over the possibility of extraterrestrial life was more heated than ever before.
00:58:40In fact, the question of whether life existed on other planets had become so hotly contested,
00:58:49it caused one of America's founding fathers, Thomas Paine, to be unofficially exiled to Europe.
00:58:56Thomas Paine enters the extraterrestrial life debate in a very dramatic way.
00:59:05He was an Englishman, but famous American patriot.
00:59:101793, Thomas Paine publishes a book called The Age of Reason.
00:59:16And in The Age of Reason, he makes one of the most vigorous attacks on Christianity ever made.
00:59:25The bottom line on it is he says you must believe in extraterrestrials if you know any modern astronomy.
00:59:33The idea of God who made the entire universe going from planet to planet redeeming people is just impossible to
00:59:41believe.
00:59:45That creates a sensation. Thousands of copies of the book were sold.
00:59:51In December of 1793, Thomas Paine was arrested in France as a result of supporting a political party that was
00:59:59no longer in power.
01:00:00When the American ambassador refused to speak on his behalf,
01:00:06Paine believed that George Washington had abandoned him because of his writings supporting the idea of extraterrestrial life and refuting
01:00:14traditional Christianity.
01:00:19In 1802, he was invited back to America by the third president, Thomas Jefferson.
01:00:26Jefferson, an intellectual, was considered a genius by many in his time, both for his skill as a statesman and
01:00:35his scientific aptitude.
01:00:36And some believe he was also a proponent, like his contemporaries Ben Franklin and John Adams, in the concept of
01:00:45the plurality of worlds.
01:00:47The concept of a plurality of worlds was a very widely accepted concept in the 18th century.
01:00:54People like John Adams and Thomas Paine didn't view extraterrestrial life as a possibility, but rather as a matter of
01:01:02fact that everybody knew to be true.
01:01:05The new rationality in science changed the way that these founding fathers talked about religion.
01:01:13In 1825, Thomas Jefferson is hiring faculty for the University of Virginia.
01:01:20And John Adams writes to him and gives him advice on how to do that hiring.
01:01:26He says, do not hire any European professors.
01:01:29If you hire a European professor, they are liable to believe in Christianity.
01:01:34And that is a very dangerous doctrine that we should stay far away from.
01:01:42Other founding fathers also agreed with this view, which included a belief in the existence of life on other planets.
01:01:50Benjamin Franklin wondered if there were different gods for every sun that harbored intelligent life.
01:01:57Many of them felt it was clear that there were intelligent beings conceivably through the whole universe.
01:02:04And that the notion that God came to this planet as a person who was spit on and persecuted simply
01:02:12was ridiculous.
01:02:14And they rejected that long-held traditional belief, which was a very radical thing at the time.
01:02:21America's founding fathers defending the concept of extraterrestrial life against Christianity?
01:02:29A revolutionary idea to be certain.
01:02:33But perhaps not so revolutionary to the country's earliest inhabitants,
01:02:38who long before claimed to have met visitors from the sky.
01:02:46In northwestern New Mexico lies a vast concentration of ancient ruins,
01:02:53known today as Chaco Canyon.
01:02:56Built from sandstone blocks and timber between 900 and 1150 A.D.,
01:03:02the 15 major complexes of Chaco Canyon contained four-story structures with hundreds of rooms
01:03:09that required thousands of man-hours to construct.
01:03:14Until the 19th century, they were the largest buildings in North America.
01:03:19Chaco Canyon was a center of activity for a lot of different Indian tribes, Pueblo tribes.
01:03:27Archaeologists, anthropologists have a lot of theories about what there was.
01:03:31But what I have studied, and what I can tell by just some of the chants from my own tribe
01:03:39and other Pueblo tribes,
01:03:40is that this would have been a big center of activity for technological, spiritual activities.
01:03:50There's a lot of places on there that has direct bearings up into the universe.
01:03:58When archaeologists first excavated these ruins in 1896, they marveled at their architectural precision.
01:04:08But even more astonishing was the fact that many of these ancient structures,
01:04:14like those found in Egypt, England and South America,
01:04:18suggested the inhabitants had a sophisticated knowledge of astronomy.
01:04:24A number of devices designed for tracking solar events were found.
01:04:30And at Fajada Butte, which sits at the entrance of the canyon,
01:04:35three giant slabs of rock are positioned near two spiral petroglyphs etched on a cliff wall.
01:04:42During the solstice and the equinox, these rocks catch the sun in such a way
01:04:48as to shine daggers of light on different areas of the petroglyphs.
01:04:55But why would early Native Americans spend so much time building the structures at Chaco Canyon
01:05:02along such precise astronomical alignments?
01:05:07And why build them in such a desolate area of the country?
01:05:12It is one of those sites which has been posing so many questions and which science is only slowly beginning
01:05:20to explain.
01:05:21But really, there are more questions than answers at this moment in time about Chaco Canyon.
01:05:29In his 2006 book, The Orion Zone,
01:05:33archaeoastronomer Gary David proposed that the geographical layout of Hopi ruins in the American Southwest
01:05:41precisely mirrors the star patterns of a number of constellations.
01:05:46When you look at where the ancestral prevalent major ceremonial sites are actually located,
01:05:54Gary David has identified that when you just map these, you actually find that they depict constellations.
01:06:00Specifically, Orion is very important.
01:06:06Orion's belt points to the brightest star in the sky, Sirius.
01:06:12If one looks at the Hopi Mesa as the stars of Orion's belt,
01:06:18they also point to an important location, Chaco Canyon.
01:06:24But why Orion?
01:06:26And could it be merely a coincidence that this constellation pattern
01:06:31has been found at other important sites around the world,
01:06:35and always with the belt pointing toward a place of significance?
01:06:39Ancient astronaut theorists have discovered the constellation of Orion,
01:06:44lining up with the Mayan complexes along the Street of the Dead in Mexico City.
01:06:50And here, Orion's belt points to Cholula, the largest pyramid in the world.
01:06:57They also find it at the Giza pyramids in Egypt,
01:07:01with the belt pointing toward the city of Heliopolis,
01:07:05a place of worship for ancient Egyptians.
01:07:08One thing we know about Orion's belt is that this is a theme which is recurring in Mayan mythology.
01:07:14It's also actually a theme which is occurring in Egyptian mythology.
01:07:17Orion's belt and the stars around it were seen as the heart of creation.
01:07:21It is where everything began.
01:07:24And it's probably not coincidental that the Hopis see the place where they are living as the heart of the
01:07:29world.
01:07:32And these are ancient people. All they had to go by were the stars.
01:07:37And so they believed, as astrologists believe today, that the stars have certain powers over what goes on on planet
01:07:46Earth.
01:07:48According to their legends, the Hopis believe there were three worlds that preceded the one we are in today.
01:07:55Each of those worlds was wiped out when guardians of the sky called to the Creator to tell him that
01:08:02his finest creation, humans, were no longer living according to his plan.
01:08:09And they called to him by setting off a warning through the Earth's axis, a vibration strong enough to shift
01:08:16the balance of the planet.
01:08:20Is it possible the structures at Chaco Canyon were built along precise celestial alignments so that the Hopi could predict
01:08:29the periods of Earth's devastation and renewal?
01:08:35Could the guardians of the sky have led them here so they could monitor the position of the sun?
01:08:42Why in the world people settled at that location wasn't something that they did on their own.
01:08:48There's no running water there. There was no reason to live there. There's no good soil.
01:08:53They did that because their guardian told them to live there.
01:08:57During the times of the summer and winter solstices, as well as the spring and fall equinoxes,
01:09:04the people at Chaco Canyon could gauge the Earth's balance by watching the path of the sun daggers at Vajada
01:09:12Butte.
01:09:13If the daggers did not pierce the petroglyphs at the same points as the previous year,
01:09:19they would know that the Earth was out of balance.
01:09:22And since the Earth fell out of balance at the end of the previous three worlds,
01:09:28this could mean the end was coming once again.
01:09:35Scientists from NASA determined the earthquake that hit Chile on February 27th, 2010,
01:09:41shifted the Earth's axis by three inches.
01:09:45Would the ancestral Pueblo people have seen this as a sign from the guardians above?
01:09:52Well, do you think that's going to show up at Chaco Canyon on that dagger stick that comes down at
01:09:56the time of the solstice?
01:09:58Do you think the Indians were watching that?
01:10:01That's what the Hopi call Koyaanisgatsi.
01:10:04We are living in Koyaanisgatsi right now.
01:10:08We are living in a life that's out of balance.
01:10:13Could these Native American legends be more than just myth?
01:10:18Is it possible that these stories, along with the ancient texts of India and the stories of the Bible,
01:10:25are all describing alien visitations?
01:10:28For ancient astronaut theorists, the answer is yes.
01:10:32And the proof may lie on a small uninhabited island in Nova Scotia, Canada.
01:10:43In 1795, three Nova Scotia farm boys set out to explore nearby Oak Island after witnessing strange green lights coming
01:10:54from its shore in the middle of the night.
01:10:58As they came to the island, they saw that there was one little, you know, pit that they thought, well,
01:11:07this is very odd.
01:11:08So they started to dig in that particular spot.
01:11:12They came across different platforms made out of wood, especially out of oak.
01:11:20And the deeper they dug, they also came across a mat made of coconut fiber.
01:11:26And they came across a stone slab that had very bizarre writing on it.
01:11:36The one thing is crystal clear.
01:11:39Canada does not have any coconut trees.
01:11:42So the mat made of coconut fiber, where did it come from?
01:11:46It's a very intriguing question, how all these different levels were made.
01:11:51The initial excavation stopped at a depth of 30 feet.
01:11:57But since that time, over a dozen professional excavations have been attempted and funded by everyone from actors John Wayne
01:12:06and Errol Flynn to Franklin D. Roosevelt.
01:12:10Mining and excavation companies have dug multiple shafts surrounding the whole money pit with the hopes of achieving or reaching
01:12:21whatever is buried down there.
01:12:23They've even tried to dig in sideways.
01:12:27And even that didn't work.
01:12:29Based on the findings from numerous excavations, the money pit contains a series of oak platforms, starting at a depth
01:12:38of 10 feet and recurring every 10 feet thereafter, going at least 200 feet down.
01:12:46In between these platforms are slabs of flagstone, not indigenous to the island, and layers of puddle clay.
01:12:55Efforts to reach the bottom of the pit have proven so dangerous.
01:13:00Six people have died in the attempt.
01:13:09It's underground is covered with canals, flooding canals that lead seawater into the system.
01:13:20Each time there seemed to be progress, underground floods in the canals would make further searches impossible.
01:13:28So this is what we know.
01:13:29Many centuries ago, someone constructed a giant hydraulic system under this island.
01:13:38It couldn't have been pirates.
01:13:40It had to be someone with great expertise for architecture and hydraulics.
01:13:44It could have been a responsibility for water.
01:13:48We still haven't been able to access whatever is down there because of the incredible flooding system.
01:14:00These treasure hunters poured red paint into one of these shafts.
01:14:06And not only did it come out on one side of the island, but also on the other side.
01:14:12Up to three shafts have been discovered.
01:14:17I mean, it's ingenious.
01:14:20But who, or what, constructed this elaborately booby-trapped pit?
01:14:25And perhaps more importantly, what, if anything, lies hidden at the bottom?
01:14:32Some have speculated that it might be the crown jewels of England,
01:14:37pirate treasure, Viking hoards, and even the original manuscripts of Shakespeare.
01:14:44But perhaps the most audacious theory of all is that the money pit is the hiding place for one of
01:14:50the most sacred objects in the world.
01:14:53There is a possibility that the Ark of the Covenant, with its contents, has been hidden on Oak Island.
01:15:04The Ark of the Covenant?
01:15:07The most sacred object in all of Judeo-Christianity?
01:15:12The gold chest that is supposed to contain the tablets on which the Hebrew God wrote the Ten Commandments?
01:15:20Why would this religious relic be placed at the bottom of an elaborately booby-trapped pit in northeastern Canada?
01:15:29Ancient astronaut theorists believe the Ark may have been hidden because of the powers it held.
01:15:36Powers from out of this world.
01:15:39According to the ancient astronaut hypothesis, the Ark of the Covenant housed an extraterrestrial device which was given to the
01:15:49Israelites during their 40-year wanderings through the desert.
01:15:57When you go back to the biblical descriptions, it becomes a weapon.
01:16:03It rises up into the air, it rushes towards the enemies of Israel.
01:16:11When the Philistines briefly capture it, they make the mistake of opening it and filing past it.
01:16:19Suddenly, thousands of people start to die.
01:16:22The biblical account states quite clearly that the cause of death was cancerous tumors.
01:16:27This is a very mysterious and puzzling thing.
01:16:30What kind of object could have these almost machine-like attributes and cause deaths that sound like radiation signals?
01:16:42What powers the Ark held is the subject of wide speculation.
01:16:47But an even bigger mystery is what happened to the Ark and where it might be located today.
01:16:57One legend says that it was taken during the Crusades by an elite band of monk-like warriors known as
01:17:05the Knights Templar.
01:17:07The cover story, and it feels like a cover story, is that they were to protect pilgrims on the route
01:17:13between the coast and Jerusalem in the Holy Land.
01:17:16But they don't ever seem to have done any of that.
01:17:20Right soon after they were founded, they took possession of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
01:17:29And for the best part of 80 or 90 years, they devoted themselves to what looked like an archaeological expedition
01:17:37on the Temple Mount.
01:17:38And I'm pretty certain they were looking for the Ark of the Covenant.
01:17:43The legend tells of the Knights taking the Ark to Scotland, where they formed an alliance with the powerful Sinclair
01:17:50family.
01:17:51Some historians believe William Sinclair may have taken the Ark to Oak Island in Nova Scotia in the 1400s to
01:17:59protect it from English invasion.
01:18:01Here, Sinclair and his men could have built what might be the most impenetrable vault ever made.
01:18:09The notorious money pit.
01:18:14But if so, where is the evidence?
01:18:21In the 1990s, some scientists were able to send cameras down into one of the shafts.
01:18:28There, they discovered strange objects that had a rounded tubular shape.
01:18:35Their C14 values were diverse and their radiometric age ranged from very old to futuristic.
01:18:45Now that is basically impossible.
01:18:49However, there is some chance that that effect could be caused by some kind of radioactivity.
01:18:57That's why we suspect that a nuclear reactor may have been taken there and hidden inside this ingenious hydraulic system,
01:19:08so that it would be kept safe forever.
01:19:14What would it mean if the Ark of the Covenant really was discovered at the bottom of the money pit?
01:19:21Would it provide the proof of alien intervention?
01:19:25The very proof that ancient astronaut theorists have been waiting for?
01:19:33If the Ark of the Covenant is found at the bottom of the money pit,
01:19:41well, the story is over.
01:19:46Perhaps, but an even greater question persists.
01:19:51Why?
01:19:52Has mankind been helped by the intervention of beings from other worlds,
01:19:57as ancient astronaut proponents contend?
01:20:00Or was there a more ominous intention?
01:20:05Could the Ark, if discovered, be a sort of Pandora's box,
01:20:10that once opened would reveal more about our origins than we would ever want to know?
01:20:20As the 20th century dawned, the Industrial Revolution suggested that nothing conceived by man could be impossible.
01:20:29We could now ride through the countryside in horseless carriages,
01:20:36sail the seas in huge ocean liners,
01:20:41fly through the sky in airships,
01:20:46even the idea of building rockets and flying them to the Moon, Mars, and beyond,
01:20:53seemed well within our grasp.
01:20:58It was the era of science fiction writers like H.G. Wells,
01:21:03and inventors like Einstein,
01:21:06Tesla,
01:21:07Edison,
01:21:09and Ford.
01:21:12In 1896, there were widespread reports of strange airships hovering over various locations in the American West.
01:21:22Coincidence or consequence?
01:21:26There were sightings throughout history, and of course there were a large number of sightings in the 19th century.
01:21:32But it wasn't until 1896 that there were waves of sightings.
01:21:39Thousands of people in 1896 and 1897 in the United States saw phantom airships,
01:21:46the origin of which was never explained.
01:21:50These reports were catalogued, discussed in newspapers.
01:21:56There were sightings in 1896, 1897, 1898.
01:22:03And in fact, we kind of know from newspaper reports from the Southwest that people were seeing craft with wings.
01:22:12And the Wright brothers didn't fly an airplane until 1903.
01:22:17So what were these craft?
01:22:20Well, on the one hand, people were flying balloons in the 19th century.
01:22:25So balloons were not high technology.
01:22:28What was high technology back then?
01:22:31Was affixing a gasoline engine to the gondola of a balloon.
01:22:38That whole airship mystery, my guess is that some of those were just dirigibles that people were flying around.
01:22:45On the other hand, during that time, we also find reports of objects that moved really too quickly to be
01:22:52dirigibles.
01:22:53And some were maybe too shiny, really, to be the types of balloons that they were making at that time.
01:22:58The prevalence of these balloons powered by gasoline engines flying around in the late 1890s and the turn of the
01:23:05century probably opened up people's minds to the possibility that there could be literally unidentified flying objects.
01:23:14People began, to put it bluntly, looking up.
01:23:20So it could be said that modern UFO history began with these mysterious airships of the 1890s.
01:23:31It certainly seems possible, if we believe that the airship sightings were sightings of extraterrestrial spaceships, that perhaps the aliens
01:23:42were interested in human activity at the time because of the rapid increases being made in technology.
01:23:48Some people have suggested that aliens have been interfering with the lives of human beings for thousands of years.
01:23:58And because they were always here at significant points in human history, they introduced various kinds of technologies to spur
01:24:08development along a certain line.
01:24:12Could the same alien presence that some believe had been visiting the Earth for centuries have been responsible for inspiring
01:24:21our great leap into the modern age?
01:24:26Or could the increased close encounters with UFOs, which would persist through the next century, be a sign that we
01:24:34were in danger of going too far?
01:24:36A very common idea that we have today is that as we develop technologically, we're going to see an increase
01:24:43in UFO phenomena, that UFOs are basically monitoring us.
01:24:48Decades ago, we saw a lot of UFO activity around air bases, around atomic bases, and also UFOs following airplanes
01:24:58and maybe following our aircraft.
01:25:00I would say that certainly as we keep developing, we will continue to see that monitoring aspect to the UFOs.
01:25:10Especially as we continue going into space, we're going to continue seeing more UFO activity.
01:25:15Whether it's for our benefit or not, that's hard to say.
01:25:20Our history, our history, the history of human beings on planet Earth, whether we ourselves are the aliens, ceded from
01:25:27another planet, or whether the aliens created us, as the stories of the Anunnaki say.
01:25:33Regardless, it may be that human beings are being directed toward a certain end.
01:25:42In the 20th century, the inhabitants of planet Earth were capable of blasting off and touching the stars.
01:25:55We were also capable of harnessing the atom, and using it to inflict the deadliest of devastations.
01:26:09We would send satellites into orbit, land on the Moon, and reach Mars.
01:26:16But what would we find? A barren, empty universe of dead planets? Or something else?
01:26:26In the 1960s, mainstream scientists were already exploring the question of whether or not we're alone in the universe.
01:26:34And there was only a handful of scientists who actually proposed the idea that yes, there are other civilizations out
01:26:45there.
01:26:47Now fast forward 50 years.
01:26:50You'd be very hard pressed to find any scientist today saying that we're alone in the universe.
01:26:59What we're coming up to now in the 21st century is going to be a redefinition.
01:27:06Our entire history may have to be revised in the context of non-human intelligences coming and going.
01:27:14And what else is out there in this incredible universe of which we humans are a part?
01:27:25Perhaps the dawn of the space age was a signal to whatever or whoever was out there.
01:27:33That after centuries of writing on cave walls, building temples, and mapping the skies,
01:27:41the inhabitants of planet Earth were at last ready, ready for their return.
