00:00After weeks of deliberations, the Lakers have finally made their roster cut.
00:04The team waived Delta Connect Monday afternoon ahead of the NBA's 2 p.m. deadline to become compliant with the
00:10league's roster rules.
00:11Despite being the number 17 selection in the 2024 NBA draft and having a hot start as a rookie,
00:17the Lakers' decision to waive Connect wasn't a surprise.
00:20The former Tennessee Volunteer's role and playing time had diminished significantly over the last two years,
00:25and his struggles during the preseason this year only made the Lakers' decision easier.
00:29Now, the Lakers will focus on preparing for the season opener against the Warriors on Wednesday,
00:34while Connect will look to find a new home for his NBA career.
