00:07his family following the death of his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali.
00:13In a statement on Monday, Dr Mahathir said he has tried to return to the office over
00:18the past day or two, but his strength has not fully recovered.
00:22On behalf of his family, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to those who helped with
00:27the funeral arrangements for his wife and continued offering prayers for her.
00:32He said the outpouring of support had deeply moved him during his period of mourning.
00:38Even amid deeply painful grief, he said he is reminded to remain grateful to God for allowing
00:44him to have his wife for so long, until this stage of his life when so little time remains.
00:51Dr Mahathir also apologised for being unable to respond to some greetings, gestures and
00:57messages of condolence.
00:59Dr Siti Hasmah passed away on September 28 at the age of 100.
01:05The couple celebrated 70 years of marriage in August.
