00:00Former Prime Minister Thun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad has been discharged from the National Heart Institute or IJN as of 4.45 p.m. on Sunday after experiencing fatigue earlier in the day.
00:12The 100-year-old statesman was admitted around 10 a.m. for observation and rest.
00:19Dr. Mahathir had attended a picnic and potluck celebration in his honor at the Padana Leadership Foundation in Putrajaya.
00:27He arrived in high spirits, even cycling in on a tandem bicycle.
00:32The event drew a large crowd of well-wishers eager to celebrate his centennial milestone.
00:38However, the celebration was cut short when Dr. Mahathir began feeling unwell and left early with his wife, Thun Dr. Siti Hazma Muhammad Ali, before the cake-cutting ceremony.
00:49His aide, Sufi Yusuf, confirmed that he was taken to IJN to rest and has now been cleared to return home.
