00:03waterways are perhaps the oldest method of transportation however traveling by boat is
00:08also one of the slower forms today enter candela's p12 electric hydrofoil which glides over the water
00:14increasing its speed and reinvigorating waterway transport in the 21st century the boat can fit
00:19some 25 passengers and includes space for wheelchairs priority seating and bikes meaning
00:25this could revolutionize a cross-water trip for everyday commuters the company's founder and ceo
00:30gustav hasselskog says that one of the biggest hurdles with passenger ferries today comes down
00:35to time and money they're too slow to be appealing to commuters and use way too much costly fuel but
00:41this passenger hydrofoil solves both of those problems uh and with the technology we use which
00:46is uh hydrofalls combined with uh electric dry trade we reduce the energy consumption with 75
00:52percent yeah so this trips uh takes normally something around 50 minutes uh and and we can
00:58do that in 25 minutes so we have the commuting time and since it glides above the water even at
01:03those
01:03high speeds it does not create a wake meaning it can operate at higher speeds in waterways where it
01:09would normally have to move much more slowly
