okay The Great and Powerful Genie had me rooting for a breakup in episode three.
short version: Elijah is a genie who's been in a lamp for thousands of years. A billionaire frees him, but only if he marries his granddaughter Christine for five years. So he becomes human, marries her, and secretly builds her career from nothing.
and she treats him like a servant. For five years. Constantly.
I kept waiting for her to notice. She never does. He does everything right and gets nothing back.
by the end I wasn't sad. I was relieved he was leaving.
✨ What worked for me:
His patience. It's almost painful to watch.
The reveal about who he really is. Wait for it.
Christine's face in the final episodes. Deserved.
✨ Bottom line: watch it, then text me your anger.
when did you give up on her? 👇
