In this episode, we narrate the complete Chapter 26 of Genesis — the only chapter dedicated entirely to Isaac. Abraham did it twice. And Isaac, the son of the promise, arrived in Gerar and made the exact same mistake: he claimed Rebekah was his sister.
Yet this chapter also displays something extraordinary. Despite his mistake, God blessed Isaac with a hundredfold harvest. The Philistines stopped up his wells. He kept digging. They drove him out of their territory. And the very king who expelled him came looking for him later because he recognized that God was with him.
Isaac was not perfect. But he learned something his father also learned: God's faithfulness is greater than man's mistakes.
